Well, you've read the notes, the notes had The Donut Effect, and now it is time for you to post until The Donut Effect cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  right now, I'm watching Mike Birbiglia on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.  He's really funny and I've always enjoyed him on talk-show interviews.  His comedy albums and specials are pretty damned funny, too!

You know, not one single person mentioned the cast for the upcoming Kritzerland.  No one had any interest in that cast?

I slept rather well.  Thatch stayed with me much of the night.  I have no idea where Stella was, and Annsbelle, who runs the joint, settled smack in the middle of the bed and refused to budge.

BK, Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4, aka "Italian Symphony," is one of my favorites.  It plays a big role in one of my favorite movies, Breaking Away.  I also love Mendelssohn's incidental music for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Last night we watched Geraldine McEwan as Miss Marple in By the Pricking of My Thumbs, which to my surprise had the characters of Tommy and Tuppence, around 1948, about 25 years after their appearance in the series Partners In Crime.

Besides the title, there are more references to Macbeth, along with nods to Hänsel and Gretel, a witch killing children, a mysterious house in the woods, American forces leaving England. and it was all quite creepy.

Kitty cleanup is finished, I've made the bed, and taken all recyclables to the basement.  I'm not looking forward to this, but I must drag out the Big Ladder and bring down more cat food.

This has turned into a day from hell.  Whole I was on the Big Ladder, the power strip holding the computer lamp, printer, and answering machine died.  So I got out the dustbuster to clean around the strip before I proceeded.  The dustbuster was clogged with something sticky like candy, but I have no memory of picking up anything like that.  So I had to put away the Big Ladder and clean out the dustbuster before I could proceed to the power strip.  No matter what I did, it's dead.

Then, thinking the iMac was connected to the same power strip and therefore shit down, I went for my Macbook, to find its charger is dead and the Macbook dead.  I couldn't use it.  Luckily, I discovered in thinking I might plug in the computer elsewhere that the computer was running, and I've now ordered three new power strips.

Today is going to be a day.  My supervisor and I are going on a roadtrip to go to a couple of library branches in each of Timberland's five counties so that he can film...dressed in his actual drag persona, Mizz Honey Bucket ("that’s pronounced 'Boo-Kay', a**hole!")...some things for the library, but I don't know what.  It's gonna be an adventure!

Darn.  I'm not going on a field trip. :( Mizz Honey Bucket has a little problem with her eye and is just going to go to one library and be filmed by the person there, so I'm not needed.  Oh, well.

Watched a weird movie called Devil and the Deep with Tallulah, Charles Laughton, Gary Cooper and Cary Grant. Except for the performers, the movie, which had to do with an insanely jealous submarine captain and his long-suffering wife, the movie was largely laughable.

It was one of the flicks that showed up at the library. I've got another one of those on, a 1967 comedy called the Honey Pot with Rex Harrison, Maggie Smith, Susan Hayward, Cliff Robertson, Edie Adams and more. It feels too long and isn't very funny so far.

Jane, I carry a mask in my pocket when I take my daily walk. There are very few people out at 5 a.m. But there's lots of room to walk around each other. Sandra and I have both been wearing masks in the car. On the rare occasion I go into a store, I wear a mask. I wore a mask when we went to the zoo for an hour.

Some people wear them, some don't. I have never had anyone make any comment about my wearing one.

Hello all.  Thanks for the good wishes for my mom. She's continuing to improve.  We had several offers on their lake home and accepted one a couple days ago.  She had been using the equity in the lake home to pay expenses, now the loans will be paid off and she'll have enough to carry her expenses for care for at least a couple years.   It's a huge relief for all of us.  It will close mid July, but we don't foresee any problems. This is very good news as it is amazingly expensive to have 24 hour in home care, but that's where she wants to be - so that's where she'll be!

I haven't gone out to eat in so I don't know if they are asking people to wear masks.  I've been going to stores, the jail (we talk to our clients through the glass for now as there are covid cases there) and lots of other places.  I don't generally wear a mask as I find it's not that hard to socially distance.   The numbers here are still going down, of course we had massive testing going on when other places didn't have any

The court system here is still trying to figure out what the restrictions will be when they completely open in July.  There is talk that judges will have to wear masks and face shields.  That makes no sense as no one is within 10 feet of the judges.   I had my first COVID positive client in the jail today.  I talked to him on the phone and the jailers had him sign the documents I needed.  Then they sprayed the documents with disinfectant.

Speaking of which, my neighbors - whose  main home is in Gig Harbor, WA - have decided to sell their house here.  I'm actually glad.  Their house has been empty most of the time and it will be nice to have next door neighbors again.  They've had it with Seattle, they are also selling their house there and moving to South Carolina

Tonight Allen is here getting it ready to sell and will be meeting with to realtor tomorrow. He said they have bats....I knew it.  Ricky has been glued to the window by their house every night. I'm hoping none of them come in here.  I don't think there have been any yet. I do have a 5 year warranty on the bat proofing, so if I get one, I'll get batman on the phone ASAP

Yesterday our governor gave the mayors permission to make a decision. Earlier he had not allowed them to have any say. The mayor of my city made it mandatory. We'll see what happens.

We don't usually carry masks with us on our walks as we can avoid people.  Only once have I felt the need to quickly put the mask over my face while passing a group of rude people.

IDR Laura I hope you won't be fined not wearing a mask if no one is near you.

My sister has sent two packages of masks. She said she's making lots of them and that she will keep making them because she expects we'll need them a long time and we will wear them out with repeated washing.

That was nice of her.

Congrats on accepting an offer and vibes all goes well.

Oh I was going to add one thing to my Covid stuff. While businesses and restaurants are allowed to be open here. Not all of them are and the only sports going on are high school baseball and softball.  Pretty much all events are cancelled for the year, from concerts, to pro baseball to what have you.  So there is still caution going on, and some businesses opened and then closed when employees tested positive, so it's been a learning curve

Our two local hospitals set up their own testing very early on.  I think that's part of the reason we were leading the country in numbers per capita for so long.  Our numbers and hospitalizations are down, so something must be working

One thing that hasn't been cancelled is road construction....don't even get me started.  And now they are replacing the elevators in the building I work in.  Since I'm on the 6th floor and don't want to chance the one working elevator, I'll be working at home until that's done.

Yes, but the values there have skyrocketed, the taxes alone have gone crazy and the place needs work, I wouldn't use it much and my brother and his wife have decided they would rather travel than spending all the money for taxes and upkeep.  Mom and Dad bought it as an investment for their future care, that future is here.

By testing more people it just made your numbers more accurate and hopefully people more careful.

And now, I'm off.  My mom called, asking if I could get some sodas to bring in addition to the mini cheesecakes.  She said that Fred Meyer is having a sale, so if there's anything in stock at FM, I'll get some, then head to my parents' house.  If the Tumwater FM doesn't have any (or enough), I can stop at the Lacey store, which is also on the way.

Be back later.

Well, I got the diet Pepsis at Fred Meyer on sale, and then I hied myself to my parents' house.
