Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 141% and began on a high C, and now it is time for you to post until the high C cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERTAIN!
-
And now, Dino at the piano.
-
Here's my 100000th post! ;D
-
George, I am on my laptop, so I can’t capture your post!
-
Congratulations, George.
-
George, I am on my laptop, so I can’t capture your post!
No problem, Tom. I was able to get it. I was hoping to actually post it last night, but BK shut the day before I could add it and get us to Page Six. ::)
Oh, well. ;)
-
Congratulations, George.
Thanks, Tom!
-
Tom (and anyone else who didn't see my original post yesterday), I got the Ethel Merman live recording of Hello, Dolly! from Amazon here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HL1B1FH/
-
The "artwork" mispunctuates the title just as "Hello Dolly"...no comma and no exclamation point.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Tom (and anyone else who didn't see my original post yesterday), I got the Ethel Merman live recording of Hello, Dolly! from Amazon here:

Thanks for posting this link, DR George!
-
DR George, congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
-
And congratulations to bk on your Indiegogo success!
-
I've got that complete Merman performance on my iTunes. I wonder of the sound is any better here?
-
I have accomplished my carting of recyclables to the basement this morning. I like to move about the building at odd hours when no one else is around.
-
This morning I see my urologist who removed the tumor last year and see if I have prostate cancer. I've been very nonchalant about the situation for the past two weeks, but I will confess that this morning I am scared. I know it's easily treatable, and I have several frienda who came through it fine and dandy; my friend Jason's dad survived state 4 prostatye cancer, and my pharmacists this week tol;d me it would be fine. Still, this morning I am frightened.
-
My appointment is for 9:30, so I will leave around 8:30. I hope I have no problems getting a taxi.
-
{{{DR elmore3003}}}, wish I could give you those hugs in person. We are all rooting for you.
-
And - look on the bright side. No stirrups today.
-
Last night I had to clean out Annabelle's nose, and it's a torturous process since she fights like mad, and I worry I will injure her by holding her down while she thrashes and fights. She was fine this morning and ate with the others, but she's pissed at me and staying as far away possible.
-
BK, I have those two Cinderella DVDs, and I need to watch them again. Last night's Don Quixote was not a success, but it was nice to see a bit of my friend Martin in the extra features. For a 19th century ballet about the Man of La Mancha, he and Sancho are secondary characters to rthe lovew story of Kitri and Basilio. The wonderful Marianela Niñez is a fiery Kitri, but I'd rather see the musical again.
-
And - look on the bright side. No stirrups today.
LOL! At least not this morning. Thanks! ♥️
-
Kitty cleanup is finished, meds taken, bed made, and I am dressed. My right leg makes putting on long pants a painful ordeal and I wish it were warm enough to wear shorts outdoors.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes and hugs, Elmore.
-
I really don’t want to go to work today.
-
I want to play in the sun all day.
-
Two!
-
Good morning, all.
-
All best vibes and good wishes for DR Elmore this morning!
-
Phenomenal GO GO news last night and this morning.
-
Seeing BK's photos of the first edition musical scripts, I get the attraction - if one were to have collected these over the years. They add up to being a beautiful resource and an impressive library.
-
Looking forward to REVENGE.
-
:)
-
I want to play in the sun all day.
-
Congrats to MR BK on the GO GO success!
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his millstone.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE's trip and result!
-
A watched pot doesn't boil....but it doesn't boil OVER either.
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his millstone.
Indeed. Congratulations, George.
-
I want to play in the sun all day.
Sorry, but we wear red on Fridays. So, I just couldn’t rock that suit today.
-
It's that time of year dept.
I have received three Facebook messages - with videos - from mothers who think their teen daughters would be perfect to play The Narrator in JOSEPH.
I always reply that I would certainly welcome them at auditions but that I really want someone older for the part.
-
Of course these are kind of of kids who put "Narrator" under the character they are auditioning for and check the "No" box by the "Would you accept another role?"
Which is really a good thing because then when they are told they are in the ensemble - they don't have to quit.....which most of them do.....
-
Good morning!
-
Congrats to DR George on your Major Milestone!
-
Vibes for DR elmore!
-
I am home, and I do indeed have prostate cancer.
-
On a Gleason(?) scale of 1-10, with 10 being the worst, the pathology report of the biopsy says I am a 7. My doctor said that if I did nothing, depending on how the cancer progresses with regular biopsy checks, I might have 10 years, but the cancer could spread to my lymph nodes and then to my bones. So, we will set up a conference with the Radiology Dept. pf Lenox Hill Hospital. where I had my surgery last year, and I will have most likely some form of radiation treatments.

I did think he would wait for it ;D
-
Congrats George.
-
I do believe DR George will soon pass my numbers.
-
Good vibes for DR elmore.
-
DR George I hope your mother's hand feels better within a few days.
-
DR Elmore, I'm so sorry to hear that news.
Thank God for the radiation, which seems to be what everyone has for this.
-
I am sorry to hear this news DR ELMORE.
-
Onward
-
Three!
-
John Doyle, nobody’s favorite director, interviews John Kander.
https://youtu.be/028GU27t2vk
I enjoyed much of it, including the sounds of a toilet flushing three times.
At the very end, Doyle announces an upcoming tribute to Assassins.
-
I am very sorry for your medical news, DR elmore3003.
It sounds like the doctors have a plan and know what to do. The success rate seems to be high for this sort of thing.
All my prayers.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
And it sounds like there are some less invasive options, too, which is a great thing.
-
145%!!
-
145%!!! And close to passing 11K - so $12,500 is not so far-fetched now. Already deciding on the first of the added stuff - each addition, of course, ups the bill but that's why we keep going. Very exciting. Two of the four first edition plays went first thing this morning. If the other two go that will put us well on our way to the 12K. The good news is that the guy who's taken most of the scores and the first editions is in Burbank so I'll save all that postage and meet up with him somewhere.
-
Got an email today from Triton selling hardbound scripts, several of which were perks.
-
Scary stuff at the Capitol again.
-
BK, I just saw a post about the Danny Kaye film HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN. That got me wondering why the film soundtrack was never released. Would it be possible to do a soundtrack recording?
-
DR George, congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
Thanks, Singdaw!
-
Congrats to DR GEORGE on his millstone.
Indeed. Congratulations, George.
Thanks, John and Jrand!
-
elmore, I did release it at Varese, coupled with The Court Jester - hard to find now.
-
Saw the Triton first editions, many of which were perks and still are. Already some have bids and it's just the first day - they'll all go for more than our perks and some will go for considerably more. Their timing is a little odd, if you ask me - he's very aware of our campaign and probably saw how quickly those moved.
-
elmore, I did release it at Varese, coupled with The Court Jester - hard to find now.
That isn't really the soundtrack; that was Danny Kaye with Gordon Jenkins Orchestra, and I have your CD. The film orchestrations were by Jerome Moross, and it's never been released as a recording.

I'm sure they don't exist for either film, actually, especially for Hans - Goldwyn doesn't seem to have kept any separate music stems for these films, only M&Es.
-
Congrats to DR George on your Major Milestone!
Thanks, Kevin!

I am home, and I do indeed have prostate cancer.
{{{HUGS!!}}}
-
Congrats George.
Thanks, Jane!
-
I do believe DR George will soon pass my numbers.
Not soon enough! ;)
-
DR George I hope your mother's hand feels better within a few days.
Thanks, Jane. I'm going over tonight to play Phase 10. She doesn't shuffle the cards, so she doesn't have to worry about that, but holding the cards shouldn't be a problem.
-
DR Elmore, I'm so sorry to hear that news.
Thank God for the radiation, which seems to be what everyone has for this.
My sister's boyfriend had the radiation just a couple of years ago and now, he's fine. :)

I have an off-label cD of the soundtrack matched up with the White Christmas soundtrack.
-
The White Christmas part is lousy because Rosemary Clooney couldn’t appear in the recording. I think they had Vera Ellen dub her.
-
That is very sad.

Are you sure it's not the Kaye-Jenkins recording that BK released?
-
Let me see if I can easily find it
-
It is the Gordon Jenkins version.
-
The White Christmas is also the Decca “original cast” of the soundtrack. Peggy Lee (unrecognizable) subs for Clooney while Trudy Stevens subs for Gloria Wood, who dubbed Vera-Ellen.
-
Four!
-
Had California Chicken Cafe for food. Picked up a package, did banking, and that's probably it for this day, unless I start the next set of liner notes.

Got an email today from Triton selling hardbound scripts, several of which were perks.
I'm afraid to ask who/what Triton is.
-
Triton is a company that sells Broadway posters. I've bought two in the past from them. So I'm on an email list.
Here's the link: https://broadwayposters.com/
Some are reprints. Some are originals, if that matters to you.
-
I received an email today from AT&T saying that they couldn't process an automatic payment. I received a new debit card recently, so I knew the case. But I honestly thought it was a phishing email. At the top, "customerservice" was misspelled as one work. The CTA to correct the problem told me to "upadate" my information. And the header was the ungrammatical mess: "Hi John.,"
I wanted to cry.

Gratuitous post No. 99!

Yup. And an ulcer.

I don't get it. Where are the rest of the meals in a day?

Oh my.

147%!!! Only one first edition grouping left out of the four posted late last night. We've crossed 11K and are heading to 12K. IF we get there, I do believe we'll get all the way to 12,500 and maybe even beyond.
-
147%!!
;D
-
Hello, everyone.
-
DR Elmore, so sorry to hear your news. But, as others have pointed out, it's a very common condition and doctors have a good handle on how to treat it. Lots and lots of people come through it just fine.
MEGA VIBES to DR ELMORE!!
-
Off to my mom's.
Until later.
-
I had to go to BK's old neighborhood today to do an errand. Some parts of Pico Blvd have gotten so seedy! The buildings were old to start with, often poorly maintained, and now Covid is responsible for many vacant stores. How quickly things can go downhill!
-
I had to chuckle, though. I saw one adult and lots of kiddies doing a dance/exercise class in someone's driveway. The kids were following quite well. I hope they continue post-Covid.
-
My sense of time has really become distorted. All day I've been thinking it's Saturday. That can really get you into trouble!
-
My personal shopper, Jason, did a TJ's run for me today. Such a convenience! I'd like to find more to give him.
-
MUST remember that tomorrow's Saturday so I don't miss Revenge!
-
Weekend vibes to all!
TTFN.

You should see US Bank's website. It's full of stuff like that. Their programmers simply don't check their work. When they ask what I think of the bank, I tell them. No one seems to be listening.

As far as I'm concerned, they don't KNOW their work. I don't mean the programming. They don't know any more about good literate instructions and prose than many many people today. And of course there's no one employed to check them.

DR Jeanne, would this be, say, east of La Cienega? Or maybe near Beverly Dr.?
DR Jane mentioned Motor Ave., but that's out west of there. I picture the more eastern parts getting seedy. (Sad to say.)

We eventually moved to Beverlywood, which was right off Beverly Drive about a half-mile south of Pico.

And I lived on Beverly Dr. just south of Cashio for one year, in a friend's condo.

So none of these people (or if it's one guy) needed that Bye Bye Birdie? :)

They have managers. Some managers choose not to get involved, not to oversee anything. "They're professionals." I was not that kind of manager. The work that came out of my group was something we could all be proud of.

Good night, friends.

This was Oakhurst and Cashio, just west of Doheny. I see such interesting neighborhoods when I make a wrong turn or overshoot and miss my street. ;D The residential parts were mostly quite nice; it was Pico Blvd that wasn't.

Not far at all, just a few blocks.
I think of all of that as Bruce's nabe. Real estate agents would probably break it down into several different neighborhoods.

I used to walk to Beverly Hills or to Westwood Blvd. Rarely did I walk as far as Robertson. All the way to La Cienega was a car ride. I really didn't know of many shops past Robertson.
-
We eventually moved to Beverlywood, which was right off Beverly Drive about a half-mile south of Pico.
And Beverlywood was where we moved from. It was a small house and I shared a bedroom with my brother & sister. That could not have been fun for my brother having a baby in his room ;D

Really close to us. In high school we had a very good friend on Cashio. We lost touch before we got married. It has been fun reconnecting with her on FB.

A shame as that area used to be ok. Keith's mother lived at Doheny and Pico.
-
Interesting timing as something just popped up on Facebook from my old Temple Isaiah on Pico. I was lucky to have a nice reform temple only a mile from home. The last time I was there I went with my father. That was a long time ago.
-
Good night, all.

ChasSmith, the Bye Bye Birdie is a great bargain - maybe they haven't done the research on it.

I'm all caught up on the posts...just had to share. :)
-
My mother had a packet of either 45-rpms or small 78-rpms of of HCA. If I remember correctly, Jane Wyman sang the songs with Danny Kaye.
-
Hi, Jane and Tom.
-
Tonight at my mom's, we play three games of Phase 10, and I WON THE FIRST TWO GAMES! :D
-
Something like that hasn't happened to me in quite a long time.
-

That may be why she was so loved in JOHNNY BELINDA.

It's too close (again) to the next page.

And now that we're so close here's the...

Whew!
