Okay, I heard from Dr Blacksburg's nurse and the radiation nurse: on Dec. 15 I have at 7:30a.m. the final procedure before radiation. The radiation treatments will begin in early January.

Don't know how long these folks can remain idle, though.

Have just returned home from a morning doctor's visit in nearby Aiken SC.
After that, I visited Sam's Club. It was a very nice visit. Sam is a very congenial host.
I left with some essentials and some true goodies, to boot.

I believe they are going to bring a crane to remove the unit and place it on the ground, fix the roof, then replace the same unit. The unit is fine -- it was installed a year ago. It's the roof that was damaged.

My sister and I have officially been appointed by the court as the executor/trix of our uncle's estate.
We have our Federal ID Number and our letter of testamentary. Tomorrow we have appointments at two banks to close the active accounts and open up an estate account....
Then we can start on what follows..... We have been going through papers in the house. Nothing has been removed from the house even though a "pal" who is included in the will said at the funeral that he supposed everyone had been dragging stuff out of the house since November 19.
He also requested that he be allowed to go into the house to get something that he said my uncle promised him.....a pouch.....I told him we couldn't let anyone take ANYTHING out of the house. I told him to call the attorney.
The attorney told him if it isn't in the will and if he doesn't have anything in writing and even if his name is on it. It is now property of the estate.

I have been ultra busy, trying to catch up on all manner of things. I had the world's longest eye exam the other day (from 1pm to almost 4pm) from a new optometrist. He's very thorough! Unlike my ophthalmologist, this guy speaks. I still haven't had all my questions answered, but I'll keep asking. Lots of other stuff on my plate, too. Simply no end to it. It's so frustrating because much of this didn't used to be a big deal, but these old bones just can't do what they used to.

I'm still waiting for Leak #5 in my apartment to be fixed. I can't believe how lax management is here; they (and I) are lucky the whole kitchen ceiling hasn't fallen down. (Don't get me started.)

It's longer than they expected! At first, the guy told me that it usually takes 90 days, which would be early March, but when he took my card to make the deposit, he came back with the update of April, which is now 4 months. :P
