Well, you've read the notes, the notes caught up, and now it is time for you to post until the catching up cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: WINSOME!
-
Topic of the Day: a lot of places have chicken sandwiches that have been pretty good. I can't think of any that were bad. Probably my favorite is from Red Wagon (https://www.redwagontumwater.com/), a local burger joint. They have a really good Grilled Chicken Burger (grilled chicken breast meat, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, Provolone cheese, house sauce) and Chicken Teriyaki Burger (grilled chicken breast meat, grilled pineapple, tomato, lettuce, pickles, onion, teriyaki sauce, Provolone cheese). Both (and most of their food, too) come highly recommended by the likes of me. :)

If anyone's interested, OperaVision (https://www.youtube.com/c/OperaVision/featured) is streaming their post-produced version of the Palau de les Arts production of Madama Butterfly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiVYCOcYr7s).
According to the description: "This production is now subtitled in English, Italian, German, French, Spanish and Valencian, and will be available until 19 June 2022."

Today, it's back to work after a three-day weekend. Also tonight, I'm working concessions (barback, actually) for International Guitar Night XXII (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/international-guitar-night-xxii/) at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. I'm looking forward to this.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR Jane, glad you are having a good visit. CONGRATULATIONS on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was a dark and stormy night. I slerpt poorly, and I have a sore throat because, I think, the dry heat in the apartment is killing me. I had lots of dreams, most of which I no longer remember.
-
I'm back to radiation this morning. After two days off, I'm not looking forward to going back into it.
-
Tuesday is upon us, heaven help us!
I know not what this day may bring, but I hope it's something I like.
-
I was rummaging around the kitchen while my coffee was brewing.
I was looking for something edible that had nutritional value.
What I found wasn't nutritious, alas.
Yes, i have no bananas today. Augh!

The mention of chicken got my attention.
I love me some chicken. Fried chicken, in particular. My mom could fry some chicken, too. I loved her fried chicken.
When I was in Naples, Italy, I lived in an area called Lago Patria. It was north of Naples and a bit resort-ish inasmuch as folks had apartments or houses there that they would occupy in the summer, but would return to the city in the fall. But there were lots of nice places to shop and eat all year long.
It was there, on the main Lago Patria strand that I discovered a roadside rotisserie. It was not as big as a food truck, but it was large enough to have a rotisserie feature that let them roast up to ten chickens at a time. The chickens were spatchcocked and seasoned to perfection. All I had to do was pull over, pull out a 5,000 Lire note (which at the time had a value of about $7) and take my chicken home. Boy was that good chicken!!! My cats loved it, too!
-
Life didn't give you lemons, huh?
-
Did you see my ode to Brunswick stew yesterday, DR Ron Pulliam?
-
Wow, that was a memory out of the dusty memory vaults! I had forgotten about those wonderful chickens until the topic was suggested.
-
I shall prepare some oatmeal, I think.
-
Life didn't give you lemons, huh?
Lemons I have!!
-
At this morning's video team meeting, we are being encouraged to don robes and fuzzy slippers.
-
Did you see my ode to Brunswick stew yesterday, DR Ron Pulliam?
I did, I did, but forgot to mention it.
There was an old lady from Brunswick
Who ordered her stew with just one click.
The driver was late;
She stared at her plate.
"This stew is so cold it becomes thick!"
Did you think this one up yourself? And why did you proffer apologies after???
-
Or fuzzy robes.
-
Or something.
-
At this morning's video team meeting, we are being encouraged to don robes and fuzzy slippers.
Hmmm. Well, keep your robe closed and do not relent if someone in the meeting suggests otherwise!
-
Did you think this one up yourself? And why did you proffer apologies after???
I did!
The apology was because it was so painful.
-
Just being silly.
-
We know about unseemly here at HHW!
-
Just being silly.
You do it well.
-
Or, if your robe has no seams, unseamly.
-
We know about unseemly here at HHW!
Yes, but make sure those video meetings stay G-rated.
-
Ack-Ack!
Ack-Ack-Ack-Ack!
-
There is no groaning here at HHW.
-
Even on page two.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, if the world weren't awash in COVID, would you ever want to take a trip back to visit the San Francisco area?
-
I dunno. I reached an age where groaning simply happens, deliberate or not.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, if the world weren't awash in COVID, would you ever want to take a visit back to the San Francisco area?
A visit, yes. Oh, yes. I have a lot of friends in the Bay Area. i'd go for a week just to dine out with them at favorite places.

It's so true!! At some point, it became imperative that sound effects accompany the act of rising or sitting.

Exaclty. It's like falling off a log, if one were inclined to be ON a log
-
I wonder how much silly the two of us could create here, DR singdaw?
-
It's not easy being green.
-
It's not easy being green.
It truly isn't, but it's easier than it was thirty years ago.
-
I wonder how much silly the two of us could create here, DR singdaw?
Quite a bit. To subject others to.
-
I wonder how much silly the two of us could create here, DR singdaw?
Quite a bit. To subject others to.
Would that be bad?
-
Bad spelled backward is dab.
A dab of bad, in a word.
-
Bad spelled backward is dab.
A dab of bad, in a word.
Speaking for myself, it has been fun.
-
That said, I bid you and our 0 guests a good day.
-
Is a script for a television movie still called a screenplay? Or a teleplay? Or something else?
-
Have a good day, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
I went back to bed for an hour just before 7:00. Annabelle and Thatch joined me. Annabelle's still there.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished. I need to make the bed.
-
DR Jane, glad you are having a good visit. CONGRATULATIONS on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!
Thank you.
-
Thank you George for capturing it. I had no idea.
-
Good morning, all.

I am back from my six-month checkup at the dermatologist.
Which almost didn't happen. They had no record of my appointment, and I had long ago tossed the handwritten card they give you. So first, the receptionist said if I could stick around for half an hour, another doctor could see me because mine is booked solid. I said okay, but five minutes later they somehow worked it out with mine and he took me. This place is good, and hard to get into, so I'm glad for that. A few freezings, and I'm good for another six months. And I'm never again throwing away those appointment cards. :)
-
I have decided I would rather watch two episodes of PETTICOAT JUNCTION than suffer through Wayne, Jonathon, and Tiffany and their lousy cheap prizes on LET'S MAKE A DEAL.
I will switch at 11 a.m. when THE PRICE IS RIGHT comes on.
-
I like chicken alfredo......
-
...and chicken alfredo likes you!
-
I accidentally bit my tongue last night.
-
It bled.
-
I could have used some of DR John G.'s gauze.
-
Gazing at Gauze is the title of the next chapter of my memoir.
-
THREE!!!
-
I ordered my Carmen Miranda starter set.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Access-a-Ride due in 12 minutes. I'm off to the lobby.
-
No gauze for you, my friend. I used it all up.
-
Access-a-Ride due in 12 minutes. I'm off to the lobby.
Vibes for a good round trip today, sir!
-
TCB, The Pajama Game is an odd movie. They cut the book so much that it seems like an outline with lots of songs. But when the music starts, I love it.

HBO is going to be offering a new Julian Fellowes show that sounds like an Edith Wharton-inspired drama. It’s called The Guilded Age. Looks good. Makes me want HBO.
-
Singdaw, how did everything go at work with the final push?
-
Thanks for asking, DR John G. We survived. Due to the Federal public health emergency, anyone that receives state benefits (not purchasing private coverage) receives that coverage indefinitely without having to renew for the moment, so that eliminates a lot of our call drivers temporarily.
-
That chicken looks so darned good!

Julian Fellowes sounds like a character in a Cole Porter musical.

I think he’d like that remark, Laura.

I am home and happy to be here. There was too much angst since the dept. was running late and I wasn't finished until 1:15. Usually I'm finished by 1:05, and I was worried about missing my ride home. I didn't, so I'm pleased.

Thanks for the test links, DRs Laura and George.

I like chicken every which way, and in just about everything, but nothing can beat a perfectly roasted or rotisserie or fried chicken.

Have you heard about the new omeowcron variant?

I have had that happen. The cards go into my day calendar. A tip off should have been when you didn't receive a reminder the day before.

Soon the kid is going down for her nap and I won't be able to use my computer.

If I was smart I would also take a nap.

funny. Very sweet.

Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
Congrats to DR JOHN G & DR JANE on their millstones.
-
Continued fun visits vibes for DR JANE & Co.
-
Double thank DR Jrand.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Hugs to TCB. I think there are some losses you just never get over.
-
Continued health vibes to Elmore.

I was scheduled for yet another outpatient procedure next Monday, but called today to reschedule. I no longer feel ill, but abundant energy I have not. Being around a lot of people in fairly close quarters while the cases are so rampant does not seem like a good idea. Fortunately, I was able to rebook for mid-March, when I hope the Omicron peak will have passed. I also hope that there will be fewer staffing shortages then.
-
I've been playing catchup, also, but mine is laundry and soon, errands.
-
I've been reading THE BRAVEST VOICES, an autobiography by Ida Cook. Ida and her sister, Louise, became opera lovers in their twenties and after a few years began to travel to hear their favorite operas. This began in the 1920s. They met many of the world's top singers and became close friends with many of them. The stories are quite incredible. In the late 1930s they became involved in getting Jews, and other who were severely at-risk, out of Germany. These stories are equally incredible. This must be the most heartwarming book I've ever read. Despite the horrors of the Nazis, the commitment of Ida and her sister, the courage, and the cleverness are just awesome.
It was originally published in 1950 as WE FOLLOWED OUR STARS, then in 2008 as SAFE PASSAGE, and lastly, THE BRAVEST VOICES in 2021. There was a film of it, but I haven't been able to find any information of it. Highly recommended.

Vibes to all.

Thanks for the recommendation, Jeanne.

Ushering for Mystery Science Theater 3000. Only abot 350 tickets sold. They will excellent service from us all.

That sounds like an amazing book, DR Jeanne. Thanks for mentioning it!

Zoom done.
-
Done Zoom.

Those kids from ZOOM on PBS were doing ZOOM before ZOOM was trendy. Before there was even an Internet.

The Mystery Science Theater flick was a child horror flick from Roland Emmerich called Making Contact. Soooo bad. So funny.

Tonight at the guitar concert, there were about 300 tickets presold. I don't know what the final door count was, though.
-
It was a fantastic concert!
-
I got to see all of the first half, but because I had to help clean up the concessions bar, I only got to see the last three or so numbers.
-
All four guitarists were incredible performers in their own right, but together, they were wonderful!
-
They received a well deserved standing ovation!

There are a whole slew of scammers that are hoping to snag the unsuspecting. They are hoping to get information that they can use against you. They might even manage to get credit card info by claiming that you need to pay for the shipping costs.

Is anyone here watching NCIS - HAWAII?
-
Last week I caught an episode by accident. I really enjoyed it. In fact, today I finished binge watching the first 11 episodes. I like the cast a lot. Anyway, it is worth a look.

I mostly remember her from Disney's The Black Hole.

But I do remember seeing The Time Machine the first time when I was much younger (and was scared by it!), but I saw Light in the Piazza shortly after the musical opened. I enjoyed that, too.
