-
Good morning, all! What are you dong up, BK?
-
It was a terrible night with many strange dreams I no longer remember. In my last dream I was workng on a production of Into the Woods, during which the names of director and musical director changed. Leopold Stokowski was the last conductor on the project.
-
Good morning.
-
I woke up because I had a dream that a friend took a rickrolling pill.
-
I didn't want to find out what was going to happen.
-
What an interesting video.
-
DR JANE I plan to keep both cars for now. Of course in the 12 degree weather this morning, even the PT wouldn't start. I'll give it an hour and try again.
I need to get to the store and the bank.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had two VERY strange dreams -- one I woke up from at 1:20 am, the other at 4:25.
The first one was rich, including people from many periods of my life. I don't remember most of it now except for a couple of the settings. Just bizarre.
The second was some abstract (as they often are) musical thing that I couldn't even describe if I tried.
-
Hoping that DR Ron Pulliam finally slept a little.
"A little" is the operative term. Around 4.5 hours, I think.
-
I don't recall ever hearing about the movie called The Package, but yes, it has no business being about anything other than the UPS. In fact, the first thing it makes ME think of is a somewhat suggestive song from Wreck the Halls called "Your Christmas Package".

I like all of those mentioned for the TOD....and I will add:
Tommy Lee Jones in Coal Miner's Daughter
-
After a 90 minute wait, I went out and gave Petey a pep talk and he started right up.....so there you are.
-
From Tom Birkland:
George, if you have tested positive twice, you need to notify your local health department. They are trying to get a more exact count of all positive CoVid tests.
I didn't know that.
-
DR George I am curious who you end up calling. How do you feel today?
-
DR TCB vibes getting your prescriptions delivered from Rite-Aid is easy.
-

I woke up because I had a dream that a friend took a rickrolling pill.
I had to look up rickrolling ;D
-
DR Laura what does the "pill" part of that mean?
-
DR JANE I plan to keep both cars for now. Of course in the 12 degree weather this morning, even the PT wouldn't start. I'll give it an hour and try again.
I need to get to the store and the bank.
Oh no, I hope you are able to start it. The car Keith had in New Jersey needed a towel or blanket left over the engine on cold nights. Fortunately he never forgot to remove it.

After a 90 minute wait, I went out and gave Petey a pep talk and he started right up.....so there you are.
Excellent.
-
DR George are you able to work at all from home? Did you find someone to finish doing the invoices for you?
-
I watched the first episode of The Gilded Age on HBO last night.
I liked it. Variable acting - but it got the story going nicely. The costumes were of course lovely - and I am assuming correct.
It took me awhile to recognize Michael Cerveris and Douglas Sills....but there they were - working in the kitchen.
-
I like all of those mentioned for the TOD....and I will add:
Tommy Lee Jones in Coal Miner's Daughter
Can’t believe I forgot that one.
-
Amazon has the iHealth COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Tests available to purchase right now. They have a good rating so we purchased a couple, just in case. Tests are hard to find right now and the free ones won't arrive until next month.
-
I think I've caught up with all the videos the parents have uploaded so far, unless there are more in other places than on BK's page.
-
I am home from what I can only call a humiliating outing. That is all I will say about it. I really hate my life.
-
DR Laura what does the "pill" part of that mean?
I have no idea, Jane.
-
Vibes for Elmore.
-
Vibes for us all.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Wind chill factor is kicking in this afternoon......
-
DR TCB Betty Jo the youngest and only married Bradley sister was always played by Linda Kaye [Henning] daughter of the creator of the series Paul Henning (he also created the sister shows HILLBILLIES & GREEN ACRES and was one of the creators of Love That Bob - The Bob Cummings Show - starring Bob Cummings).
Meredith MacRae played the oldest and blondest girl Billy Jo (among others including Jeanine Riley) and Bobbie Jo, the tomboy and middle girl with long raven hair was played mostly by Lori Saunders - who could be very funny....
Bobbie Jo comes in from school out of breath and collapses on the couch....
Kate: What's the matter, Bobbie Jo?
Bobbie Jo: When Walter Huggins says he's gonna run you home from school.....he runs you home from school!
-
Thinking of Tommy Lee Jones made me think of a great moment in Coal Miner's Daughter......Loretty pulls Doo out of the back of a car where he's kissing a carny girl....
Later on the tour bus, Loretty is working on a song called "You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man" and Doo says: "Where'd ya git the idea fer that song?"
And Loretty replies: "Whar d'ya think?"
-
DR Laura what does the "pill" part of that mean?
I have no idea, Jane.
;D
-
A couple of nice CDs arrived today.
-
Big vibes for DR Elmore.
-
I am not thrilled as I will now have to read another book by Colson Whitehead.
-
My book group will be reading The Nickel Boys in February.
-
DR John, I re-read you comments on Whitehead which have given me hope this one will be better, or at least very different from The Underground Railroad.
-
It is very different. It's also fairly short. But it is disturbing.
-
Can we get off this page?
-
One more ...
-
Three!
-
I've now read four of Colson Whitehead's novels. Each is completely different from the rest.
-
I'm slowly making my way through Tango Shalom. It's rather embarrassing, except for the dancing.
-
I also got a wonderful cookbook from the library called Vegetables Unleashed from Jose Andres. I want to cook every third recipe I come across.
Sopa de Ajo, a garlic and bread soup
Watermelon and Watermelon Radish Salad with pea shoots
Pa Amb Tomaquet, a version of tomato bread that uses grated tomato
Even the Bloody Mary made from heirloom tomatoes sounds good
Smashed Cucumber Salad with chiles de arbol and pimenton
Frozen Pea Soup with roasted pistachios
Endives with Goat Cheese and Almonds
-
And I have to stop reading it for tonight. I'll start eating.
-
It is very different. It's also fairly short. But it is disturbing.
Thanks. I expect disturbing as most stories I have read like this are sad and disturbing. Short, I like that it is short-lol If I like it or not I hope it makes for a good discussion.
-
I'm slowly making my way through Tango Shalom. It's rather embarrassing, except for the dancing.
LOL, it sounds strange.
-
Last night we watched an Edward G Robinson movie I don't recall seeing before.
-
The 1944 film Mr. Winkle Goes to War.
-
Edward G, as always, is just wonderful.
-
'night
-
Good night, friends.
-
Starting a John Frankenheimer I haven't seen before: 7 Days in May. Great cast. And Hugh Marlowe.
It's strange but Frederic March sort of vaguely resembles Biden.
-
Another where-did-it-go day.
Sigh.
-
I am happy to report I am seeing far more people wearing masks hereabouts than not. That was not true last week or the few months before.
Of course, there are those who simply refuse to wear them.
-
Two of the movies I picked up from the library today, Swan Song and Suspira, both have Udo Kier in them. How likely is that ever to happen?
-
Where is everyone today?
-
Enjoying this movie. Not as great as The Manchurian Candidate, but what is?
-
The things one finds on YouTube: https://youtu.be/qNzOs0KGiwA
Funny!

From Tom Birkland:
George, if you have tested positive twice, you need to notify your local health department. They are trying to get a more exact count of all positive CoVid tests.
I didn't know that.
I called and they took my info. That's all they needed.
-
DR George I am curious who you end up calling. How do you feel today?
I called the Departmen of Health's toll-free number. I'm feeling pretty much the same...just the cough. No fever, no aches, no headache.
-
DR JANE I plan to keep both cars for now.
One of the options for my new car is a battery heater. I didn't choose it. I've never had any trouble starting a car in cold weather...opening the car doors, yes, but not starting it once I got in.
-
DR George are you able to work at all from home? Did you find someone to finish doing the invoices for you?
I actually did work today. My supervisor (safely) dropped off a laptop and the invoices that I needed, so that's pretty much what I'd been doing today. :)
-
I still need to download PDF copies of all the invoices, but I'll do that tomorrow.
-
Glad you were able to work, George.
-
You got your work cut out for you here.
-
We need a few more posts.
-
Let’s get off this page.
-
One more …
-
Four!
-
Whew!
-
How many gratuitous posts until 99?
-
I think this movie is more relevant post-Orange than ever before.
-
Big hugs to DR Elmore.!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
I am happy to report I am seeing far more people wearing masks hereabouts than not. That was not true last week or the few months before.
Of course, there are those who simply refuse to wear them.
That's good. It's been sort of shocking to see pictures of people in some places in the US maskless. We have to wear masks everywhere.
-
Hi, Jennifer!
-
I’m fading.
-
Good night, all.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Hi, Jennifer!
Hi DR JohnG!
-
Hope that you are feeling better DR George!
I think that you guys would be shocked at the covid precautions here. They are much more strict than what you guys have.
-

Thanks, Jennifer! I don't think I would be surprised at Canadian precautions. ::)
-
Finished with my viewing and must do some proofing.
-
But let's get some postin' goin' on, shall we?
-
I'm slowly making my way through Tango Shalom. It's rather embarrassing, except for the dancing.
Why is it embarrassing?
-
Gee, half way thru page four!
-
And I am all alone.
-
I also got a wonderful cookbook from the library called Vegetables Unleashed from Jose Andres. I want to cook every third recipe I come across.
Frozen Pea Soup with roasted pistachios
I assume this is served cold?
-
I am now caught up with NCIS: Hawaii. I really like the show.
-
Oh no!
-
I don’t think I can make it to page 5.
-
But I am trying.
-
Yes, Jrand, I know. Very trying.
-
We have been fogged in for several days.
-
You can’t even see Mt. Rainier.
-
Apparently if you go up to about the 1,000 foot level, it is sunshine and blue skies.
-
I don’t think my scooter would make it.
-
I really want a large mocha, but I am afraid to scooter my way across the highway.
-
I wouldn’t have been afraid before my tumble.
-
P A G E F I V E !
-
Hello, George.
-
Nice seeing you.
-
I hope you can type fast.
-
Or we are in big trouble!
-
Hi, Tom!
-
Apparently if you go up to about the 1,000 foot level, it is sunshine and sunny.
I don’t thank my scooter would make it.
You just need to get an off-road scooter!

Where was everyone today?
-
I was actually working from home.
-
I got the invoicing done that I needed to do.
-
And then I ran the report that I needed to run.
-
Not you. I was thinking about Jeanne not being here.
-
Then, I converted that report to the format that the computer program that actually creates and prints the checks needs, so that it could actually create and print the checks.
-
Not you. I was thinking about Jeanne not being here.
Do you NOT want me to post posts?? :o
-
;)
-
I need to get a new printer before I do my taxes.
-
The actual printing of the checks will happen on Thursday, but they won't be mailed until Monday.
-
I need to get a new printer before I do my taxes.
I have an Epson Eco-tank.
-
Not you. I was thinking about Jeanne not being here.
Do you NOT want me to post posts?? :o
You were here earlier.
-
It has large reservoirs for the ink colors, so that you don't need the tiny (and super expensive) printer cartridges.
-

I have an Epson Eco-tank.
Do you like it? Would you buy it again?

I know...but still, I'd like to contribute what I can. :)
-
How is the quality?
-

Yes and yes! The four bottles of ink (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074RG6PNV/) cost about the same or less than an ink cartridge for my previous printer, but you get so much more ink!
-
How is the quality?
Just as good as any other inkjet printer.
-
I got mine at Costco a couple of years ago, so it was less than the list price.
-
The specific model that I got was the Epson ET-3750 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074V52CL4/).
-
There are newer (and less expensive) models. I only paid $300 at Costco, but this one is now up to $629! :o
-
How is the quality?
Just as good as any other inkjet printer.
I wish I could get a color laser printer, but I just can’t afford it.
-
Especially since I got my hospital bill today.
-
six ! ! ! ! ! !
-
I have that Epson - have had it for three years now and haven't had to change the ink yet.
