Well, you've read the notes, the notes ghosted the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the ghosted cows come home.

And the word of the day is: JUBILATION!

Just had another contribution - that's two hundred bucks and still we're at 35%. Makes no sense to me. Damn them, damn them all to hell.
-
Good morning, all!

All Quiet on the Eastern Front last night. No fire trucks, no break-ins, and the cats and I had a peaceful evening watching "20 Things to do in Midsomer before You Die," a PBS fund-raiser tied in with twenty years of Midsomer Murders. It was fun, and I enjoyed seeing actors who are no longer on the series. We all slept well. Stella and Thatch pretty much avoided Annabelle and me for most of the night.
-
I had a long dream that I was at Goodspeed working on a show, and I had to deal at the same time with the music director/orchestrator - a former colleague from Toyland - of the last show who was cleaning up scores. The composer of the last shpw was a former colleague of mine who's doing very well writing songs for The Marvelous Mrs Maizel.
A former friend from the Library of Congress also showed up in the dream. Our friendship ended during the Life Begins at 8:40 concert and recording tsuris..
-
This morning my friend Ann is stopping by with their mailbox key since she and Jen will be away for a week. Last night she brought me shrimp dumplings from Vanessa's for dinner, and they were mighty tasty. I need to call Access-a-Ride as well and arrange tomorrow morning's travel.

I had a wonderful night's sleep except for a strange dream.
I was attempting to get into my office building, but the sidewalk ran out and there was a huge boulder I needed to climb over to get to the main entrance. I struggled and struggled to go up when I noticed a small ledge to my left that allowed me to easily get up and over.
Once in the building, I entered an elevator to take me to my floor. I could hear people on the other side of the elevator door but it would not open. I remember feeling a bit claustrophobic when I rolled over and realized I was in bed.
Dang these dreams! Whatever set that one off?
-
Happy Father's Day to all who are fathers.
Today I will be having a special lunch with my cousin Butch, his fiancee Sharon and his son Benjamin.
All my other local relatives are at the beach for the next week.

Sunday and we have glorious weather here today - so far.

Feel better vibes for MR BK.

DR RON PULLIAM the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that while you are satisfied with your current situation, you at times miss the structure of your former career and at times feel that you are not using your full potential.
You also feel that your authority is not being respected as it should be by those around you - although your life situation has changed and people no longer respond to you as they once did.
The obstacles you now face do not seem to be as troublesome as the obstacles in the past - but you realize now that you can around them instead of over them.

I will remind DR GEORGE and DR TCB that their first rehearsal is tomorrow night at 7 p.m. EST.
DR GEORGE is playing Naphtali and DR TCB is playing Dan. We will be learning the music to & blocking "Joseph's Dreams" and "Poor, Poor Joseph."

I want to see that production.

Had work-related dreams. Have to go back tomorrow. But tomorrow will not be a normal work day. It’s the 100th anniversary of USAA.

My TOD - what is the most surprising outcome of an internet purchase you have made?
I bought a book of reviews of 1950's musicals from a third party Amazon seller.....when I got it, I looked inside and on the first page was handwritten:
"From the library of Arthur Laurents..." with his phone number.
-
I didn't try to call him because by the time I bought the book, he was busy being dead.

Happy Sunday and Happy Father's Day to everyone! There's a new Broadway Radio Show up for your listening enjoyment. I chat with author Margaret Hall about her brand new book GEMIGNANI: Life and Lessons from Broadway and Beyond. She worked closely with legendary music director Paul Gemignani on this authorized biography that is a must read for anything theatre lover. Check it out:

Lots of activities and musical guests. I don’t know if they’ve announced anyone yet. One guess was George Strait since he lives in town.
-
When I got home yesterday, there was a 100th anniversary package in the mail. It included a Cross pen and a commemorative notebook.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Didn’t get to sleep until 2:30. Woke at around six, then seven, then eight, and still said No Way. Suddenly I was coming out of a weird dream, which I haven’t yet reassembled in my li’l brain, and it was 9:30. THAT finally felt pretty good, and here I am.
-
That’s a great book find, DR Jrand71. I bought a book of W.H. Auden at a library sale, then later discovered Auden’s signature in it. I know I’ve had similar fun on an eBay purchase or two, but can’t think what they are just now.

More coffee!!

Surprising in the opposite way: I ordered a copy of Zola’s La Bete Humaine, which is the English title as well as the French, and got a copy in French.

I bought a copy of Ethel Waters’ autobiography and Bobby Short’s autobiography at used book stores and discovered both were signed by the authors.

Good morning.

We had monsoon rain during the night. It doesn't rain in June here. We did have an unusual storm a few years ago that was actually hurricane remnants from Mexico, but that wasn't a monsoon storm.
I have never in my life seen a monsoon storm in June. Ever.

Wow, DR Laura.

Wow, DR Laura.
Ditto!

So last night at about 8:45 or so, I reclined in my recliner, intending to just take a little nap...and I woke up this morning at 7:30! :o
-
Evidently, I definitely needed to sleep!
-
I do feel refreshed I a way I haven't felt in a very long time.
-
I didn't try to call him because by the time I bought the book, he was busy being dead.
And we were happy.

This has been an aggravating morning. I needed to update my debit card for Netflix, only it won't go through and neither phone nor online chat is currently available. Then I looked for my DVD of Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears and I cannot find it.
Damn!

Starting a pandemic novel called The End of Men. Written before but published after covid-19, it deals with a virus that kills only men. It’s really engrossing.

From Ron:
My new DE-humidifier is working like a champ.
The difference all around the house is just wonderfu.
And it's so q u i e t!
I am very pleased for you :)
-
From George:
Yes, I would. But I'm pretty sure I would've either figured it out or come across it when (if?) I read any of the manuals.
True, however, since my first car with a fob and then Keith getting them, the sales person has shown us how they work.
-
DR Chas I am glad you had a good evening.

Well, here goes nothing.
I've cleaned up some files, run a new Time Machine backup, and now I'm about to PRESS THE RED BUTTON and upgrade to Monterey.
Hope to see you all on the other side! :)

Since I last posted, Annabelle has brought down a shelf of books, and my microwave has gone to microwave heaven.
In between those events, Thatch, Stella, and I watched the first three episodes of the first season of Sanditon. I thought I'd better be ready to tackle Season 2.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Just cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom. It was overdue.
-
I can't decide if Costco would be overrun on Father's Day, or lighter traffic than normal.
-
I guess we'll soon find out.
-
I tried to do a grocery run without a list. Getting home and putting things away, I discovered what I certainly should have known: missed a few key items. Sigh.
-
Aaaaaaand..... I'm back!
The upgrade took about 40 minutes, all told, and there sure is a new look to some things.
Things are working, though, and I'm going to go ahead with updating the few apps that need it.
-
Singdaw, did you remember to pick up the gin?
-
JB is home. And he’s in his cage. He’s been a naughty bird.

Why I love the Alexa shopping list which is always on my phone.

Sweet that he is home but oh no about the naughty part.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eleven and a half hours of sleep.
-
I got past the queasy phase, thankfully. I just refused to give in to it. I slept pretty well and I think I'm fine now, although I'll be careful of what I eat today. In fact, I'll probably go over to Gelson's and get something I can make here, or I'll go to someplace I trust.
-
Drum roll, since no one seems to be paying attention: 37%!!! We had several contributors today including one higher ticket item, and we're now just under $7500. I guess the percentage thing goes up much more slowly when you get to this level because I'd have thought a four hundred dollar rise would be more than two percent, wouldn't you?
-
Great news about 37%.
-
Vibes the percentage keeps going up.
-
Did you know that Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas are ALL unfailingly polite?

I certainly didn't.

But now I do.

And with that...

I wonder if Hüsker Dü eats Häagen Dazs.

These are things I ponder.

Tomorrow Juneteenth is observed. It is in our union contracts that it is a paid holiday. However, it is a Federal holiday. And the state legislature never got around to making in an official State holiday. So our agency remains open.
So we have to work. But at least we'll be paid double.
-
:)
-
It is completely bogus, but still...
-
If Yoko Ono had married Sonny Bono, then divorced him and married U2's Bono, she would be Yoko Ono Bono Bono.
-
I need to find a GOOD movie to watch.
-
Ordered in from Paty's coffee shop, which I knew I could trust - a patty melt and potato salad. The patty melt was perfect and I feel just fine.

Singdaw, you have shaken my world to its very core with your Jonas Brothers news. I don't know how I can go on.

I have watered some plants. I put some patio stuff outside that I bought who knows how long ago.
-
I also put out some solar lights into the backyard that I hope will work and will look nice.

If k.d. lang married Lang Lang (fat chance of that happening), she be k.d. lang Lang.

I've been uploading the new perks for tomorrow, so if anyone wants a sneak peek, including an incredible piece of illustration art for the 1980 remake of Little Miss Marker starring Walter Matthau and Julie Andrews, check it out. Some new CDs, too.

My frig is clean.

One less thing to do tomorrow.
-
I have much to do as we are beginning our little road trip on Tuesday.
-
Now that the day is done, I find that I am rather exhausted.
No excuses. Just fact.
-
Nice close for a wedding take up too much room in a overhead roll on bag.
-
Since we are not flying I will be able to take an extra bag-hope it is enough.

The best bargain perk is the signed Masquers fiftieth anniversary hardcover book - only 50 copies had the 23 autographs - this is copy #45. Autographs include Walter Matthau, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Jack Lemmon, Glenn Ford, Walter Pidgeon, Joan Blondell, George Burns, Ryan and Tatum O'Neal, Pat O'Brien, Fifi D'Orsay, Jack Warner, Edith Head, Leon Ames, & more! An amazing bunch of autographs and priced VERY fairly.
-
I have returned to Adam Bede. It’s not a very good adaptation. It’s too much like Tess of the D’Urbervilles lite. With religion thrown in.
-
I’m not going to finish it tonight.
-
Hooray for negativity.

Don’t be mad, Jack, but we may be late. George still has not picked me up!

Jane, where are you going? Are you flying?

Gratuitous Post #132!

Today, I was supposed to have dinner with my friend Shelly and her cousin Shannon, but Shelly texted me saying that she wasn't feeling well. :-\ Hopefully, she'll feel better soon.
-
TCB, the Gloria Swanson canvas itself is around 15x19 and with the frame about 23x something.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
They're up.
-
No doubt about that.
-
I checked.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
I was going to teach Shelly and Shannon how to play Phase 10! ;D
