Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a long night's journey into day, and now it is time for you to post until the 37% cows come home.

And the word of the day is: REDOLENT!

Good morning, all!
-
I did not sleep well. The pains in my legs, combined with what I thik might be restless leg syndrome - or whatever it's called - made sleep impossib;e for me and the cats who like to sleep around my feet. Annabelle prefers her pillow at the head of the bed.
-
This morning I have an appointment with my urologist who removed the kidney tumor in 2020 and found the prostate cancer in 2021. I like him very much, but of course I live in sheer terror of Access-a-Ride.
-
I just realized there will be no mail today.
-
My all-time favorite movie ending is Time After Time, which I first saw in Manhattan in autumn(?) 1979. I loved the film, and the moment Mary Steenburgen climbed into the Time Machine was one of the most romantic and glorious moments I can remember, and now I want to see the film again.

Hello, 2 guests, whoever you are.
I hope your troubles are few.
-
Congrats to MR BK on 37%!
-
No mail.....I didn't now that....this holiday is not on my desk calendar.
-
I tummy is a bit upset this morning.....for no reason I can figure out. Hopefully that will go away.
-
I shall have to consider the TOD.
Although I certainly agree with DR ELMORE about Time After Time.

Many of the movies mentioned above would be on my list too.

My distain for People aside, I have to give them credit for devoting 4 pages of coverage to the Tony awards. Mostly the fashion and stars, but still.

About 10 minutes ago, Access-a-Ride called me to confirm my pickup. This has never happened before.
Ever.
-
I'm hoping it's not a scam and that I come home to find an emptied apartment.

And did you know any of them?

No, but that's beside the point. 8)

Thank you to whichever DR (I am sorry; I don't remember who) posted about the Twin Cities indigenous restaurant that's garnering all the raves. It has made quite the splash!
Looking forward to exploring once the brouhaha dies down a bit.

Good morning, all.

I'm glad BK talked about Inception. I shall have to rewatch it. I first saw it at a drive-in, of all places, then I bought the Blu-ray and watched it once. But I haven't seen it since that first year, and now and then something reminds me of it. It's been long enough now that I barely remember what or how I thought of the ending. It will be good to revisit this.
Likewise, his Memento, a somewhat more accessible puzzle and also great fun.

Today, Access-a-Ride was in fine fettle, and I am home. When the return driver stopped to let me out, an ass behind him in a truck carried on like mad with his horn, and as the driver started to help me out, this jerk jumped him, yelling at him, What the fuck are you doing? You're driving like a mad man. Road rage on 82nd Street!
My driver just said, I'm dropping off a patient and ignored him. I was a bit alarmed and I'm happy to be home.

OneRepublic is the headliner. They have a song on the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack. Never heard of them.

I'm up, I'm up -eight hours of sleep.

From DR TCB:
Jane, where are you going? Are you flying?
Not flying fortunately.
We are going to a wedding in San Jose, stopping before and after to see the friends we had to cancel on the when our car door was damaged and we had to return home.
-
I am trying to decide how many covid tests to take with us.
-
No mail.....I didn't now that....this holiday is not on my desk calendar.
Since Biden signed the bill last June I suspect it didn't make it to calendars. Hopefully it will be there next year. Last year USPS stayed open as they didn't have enough notice.
-
I admit, until last week I didn't realize/remember it was a Federal holiday.

Kind of cool though that the building is 100 years old.

Had three contributions today already - small - the new book, but we're creeping up. Just posted about the new perky perks.

I am going to try a new back way to get to the theeder today - in the daylight.
There are lots of twists and turns, but I think I have it.....if I am lost, please remember that I loved HHW and all her sail in her.

Good news from DR ELMORE!

Well, I have chosen another perk and it's now up to 38%!

Monday evening greetings! We are back from a festive weekend in Michigan celebrating the 50th wedding anniversary of my high school friends Chris and Craig. That party was Saturday evening and we spent Father’s Day with my sister and her husband. Today Richard and I spent a little time in Ann Arbor and had lunch at Zingerman’s Deli - yum!
-
We are regrouping here at home and will report for grandparent duty on Wednesday. Our assignments are to keep Charlotte entertained and the kitchen going.

I don’t, either, DR Jane, but will do it in a pinch.

Grilled, sounds good. Of course I want to know which bread you had grilled-lol All of their bread is good.

No, we bought brownies…
I think it is funny you went to a Jewish deli, yes I know it is much more, and got brownies. How were they?

That's the exact same thing I had the other day at Paty's - there it's called The Trousdale.

Bruce what bread did they use for your Trousdale?

The Georgia Reuben is on Zingerman’s Jewish Rye. We didn’t bring home any bread because we thought we were leaving again right away. Now it seems it might be so soon and we’d have had plenty of time to finish a loaf of bread.
-
Or eat part of it and freeze the rest. Next time. I used to have the Rye shipped to me. These days I am being careful how much bread I eat.

Has anyone read The Candy House by Jennifer Egar? The first quarter is very funny. Sometimes in a scathing way.
-
The library has ordered the DVD of the new Downton Abbey movie. So, I guess I dawdled long enough.
-
It's still so hot.

My plants are sucking up water as if they've never had any before.
-
And the thermometer is only going up in the next eight days.
-
Four!

I save the plants now, but what's going to happen in July when I go to Louisville?
-
I put some solar lights out in the backyard. They're very nice, but I have more work to do on the ground around them.
-
The Washington Post's daily mini crossword had a clue of "Capital city of note in 2022 news." But they spelled it Kiev, not the more common Kyev. I hate it when they do that.
-
Half hour of Adam Bede left. It really is a dreary adaptation. The novel was so much better.
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
What is your favorite George Eliot novel?
-
Mine is Daniel Deronda, but I have read Middlemarch more.
-
Isn't that a fascinating conversation starter?
-
Gratuitous post 99!

Where is everyone tonight?

Not watching Adam Bede, I bet.

Hey, it's a post.

Back from putting gas in the motor car for the first time in four weeks - eighty bucks did not fill up the tank. Would have taken another four gallons, which would have taken it over 100 bucks.

I was just topping it off, so I only put in about 5 gallons...which cost much less than BK's gas!

That is similar to Olympia Little Theatre. George has worked there, as have many friends. Even if someone had left breadcrumbs, I still would never find my way.

Bruce what bread did they use for your Trousdale?
LOL! Jane, you acting like a Jewish bread groupie

This little piggy did. It was about food. Oink. Oink.
I love those piggies.

I wonder if those piggies are kosher?
