Well, you've read the notes, the notes achieved 61%, and now it is time for you to post until the 61% cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FORTUITOUS!
-
Congrats on the 61%, BK!! :D

Yesterday’s notes were locked and I switched over to see today’s subject just as Angela Lansbury sang, “Hold your hats and hallelujah.”
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR vixmom, I wait for the remainder of your tale of woe with baited breath.
-
Last night we watched the third episode of Sanditon, Season 2. I'll watch the last three today, but I'm not ewngrossed in this season as I was with Season 1.
-
I'm also having a hard time believing any of it. How far is that walk every day for a governess? Would young ladies stroli unchaperoned in and out of a military camp uless they were camp followers? There's not a single military wife? In Pride & Prejudice, Lydia goes on holiday with the captain's family when she elopes with Wickham.

DR vixmom, I wait for the remainder of your tale of woe with baited breath.
Oh yeah I fell asleep while posting…I have to go back a see where I left off
-
Alrighty then
-
So when we left offi was inspecting the car fir damage
-
It’s probably gonna cost a couple of hundred to repair, but it’s cosmetic not mechanical
-
Good morning, all.
-
Glad you’re okay physically, Vixmom. But how do you feel?
-
Wordle in three.
-
Oh, I left out the part where my window was open so I reached out and folded my side view mirror Stopping the bus from taking it off and scraping the back of my hand on the side of the bus in the process
-
Glad you’re okay physically, Vixmom. But how do you feel?
I was terrified as it was happening , furious when the driver was so nonchalant, but I’m physically fine except for the scrape
In retrospect it was a stupid move because if I had been a tad slower in reversing and getting my hand back in, my hand could have been crushed
-
Congratulations on 61%!
-
Vibes for your hand.
-
I explained to the driver in some rather short, phrases that I was unhappy with his driving, his attitude, and the damage and advised we would need to exchange information so I could get damages repaired and paid for
-
He decided he would “call it in” and said we couldn’t move either of the vehicles until the authorities arrived.
-
So at that point we had blocked all traffic from moving on that block, including all the city busses that we’re backing up behind him
-
I hope you weren’t traveling in Queens , Elmore, if you were, so sorry for the delayed and rerouted busses
-
Wordle in three for me, as well.
-
Excellent news about the 61% for the Indiegogo campaign.
-
Quite honestly if the driver was in the slightest bit concerned or contrite or even polite I might have just let it go, but I was already in a furious mood after two hours of bumper to bumper traffic while listening to NPR interview people about the deplorable reversal of human rights including the smug bastard governor of Mississippi so was bloody minded enough to just sit there until the authorities showed up
-
Slept well, for the most part.
Would love to have stayed in bed longer, but I "woke up" and that was that.
-
My porch man has told me he will be here today.
Possibly...possibly.
-
A nice man named George who was hanging out in front of the barbershop had a couple of large orange traffic cones so we blocked off the road from traffic on each end and stood on opposite ends of the block and directed traffic
-
About yesterday's news: All the FB posts praising the decision have come from "inseminators" rather than those who might become "impregnated".
I fear this country is headed toward a Blue vs. Red Civil War.
-
-2-
-
Some people were stupid enough to ignore us, and go around us and the cones just to find themselves stuck with no where to go and having to perform 27 point turns to get out of the situation they put themselves in by refusing to listen
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vixmom, what kind of a bus was this? A full size city bus?
-
It was a warm, dry, sunny evening and the events provided entertainment for all the people hanging out on the sidewalks
-
Vixmom, what kind of a bus was this? A full size city bus?
Yep, fortunately one of the singles not the double length ones with the accordion join in th3 middle
-

I can only hope that all those dems and independents who sat on their asses and didn’t go vote because the dem choices weren’t liberal enough will go to the polls this time and vote every one of those reprehensible republicans out of office.
Of course since they’ve been gerrymandering and stacking the courts, it may already be too late and we’ll be stuck with minority rule and continued errosion of rights for the foreseeable future
-
Anyway, to cut the bus story short, the guy parked at the curb right next to. Me moved, so I ignored the bus driver and parked my car clearing that lane for traffic ( and giving me the perfect t parking spot)
-
The supervisors showed up, two very nice ladies who told the bus driver in no uncertain terms that his decisions had been unwise and that he should move his bus into the bus stop ( as I had suggested right away) and clear the road for traffic
-
Then we exchanged information, they to,d me who to contact to make the claim and pointed out the traffic camera on the lamppost which I had not noticed.
I was delighted to see it and only hope it’s working and the footage can be accessed if there is any question about what happened .
-
Did you get to your concert, DR vixmom?
-
I really want to go back to bed. I had set the alarm for 6:00a.m., but three cats decided they wanted me out of bed at 4:30.

When you first reported you were hit by a bus, I envisioned you crossing a street on foot and encountering said bus.
Glad to know you are all right, although you "might" have a wee bit of physical trauma to consider adding to your claim!
-
Did you get to your concert, DR vixmom?
I did, but I missed dinner

No that’s. Fine
-
Stick by your guns on that claim. I'd think you won't have much problem with it since it's the city who's responsible. Or MTA, or whomsoever.
Will you get to see what the traffic camera recorded?
-
Wow what a story.....
-
"She gave me the best years of her life. She did 30 miles to a gallon."
Great line from Peter Lorre in "Scent of Mystery."

COngrats to MR BK on the Indiegogo!

Good luck DR RON PULLIAM

Glad you're okay, DR vixmom! I also pictured you as a pedestrian getting hit by the bus.

Congrats on 61%, BK!

Good morning, friends.
-
Just back from attending a memorial service on Zoom.
-
So sorry for your experience, DR vixmom. Glad you are OK.
-
THREE.
-
Annabelle visited the bookshelf, and all she got was this lousy t-shirt.
-
Off to brave Costco.
-
On a Saturday? You are brave indeed, DR John G.
-
No other time this week. To get my 10 days a month in the office, I had to go in four times this week.
-
I'm up, I'm up - not quite six hours of sleep.
-
The line for gasoline is super long.
-
However: 62%!
-
Nice.
-
I survived Costco. Barely.
People are crazy.
-
And all of the food samples, except for a slice of nectarine, tasted bad.
-
Wow...what an adventure, Vixmom! :o Hopefully, you never have to experience that again!!

Off to brave Costco.
I'm now off to Fred Meyer, then to a barbecue at a co-worker's!

However: 62%!
Hoo and Ray!!

And all of the food samples, except for a slice of nectarine, tasted bad.
And the portions were so small!

Less to waste when it tastes like something you want, to borrow a phrase from Bk, to vomit on the ground.

I've started an Icelandic epic, Independent People, by Halldor Laxness. He won the Nobel Prize for literature largely because of the two novels collected here. It's hilarious, a scathing satire of the type of mentality espoused by folks in the Tea Party. The main character is a jackass who believes that being independent means not relying on anything or anyone else, and he'll be dipped in sheep dip before he lets that happen.
-
Example: He won't let his pregnant wife seek help while he goes out to look after his sheep. She dies in childbirth. But he can't bring himself to ask anyone to help with the newborn child. And his neighbors are of like mind.
-
I finished Sanditon Season 2 this afternoon. Sometimes I'm so thick: it wasn't until episode 4 that I realized Charlotte and Alison were Elinor and Marianne Dashwood. I liked Miss Lambe much more this season than the last, and I enjoyed the Pride & Prejudice references. For a while I thought Esther Babbington was going to answer my question about where the madwoman in the attic was.
-
I think I enjoyed Sanditon 2 more than season 1. Has it been announced whether there will be a season 3?
-
Google says yes to season 3.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Good news on the Indiegogo! Vibes for continued success!
-
Vixmom, I'm sorry to hear about the collision and hope that you are able to file a claim quickly and easily and that the bus company gives you fair compensation.
I am glad to hear you are OK, but caution you that it sometimes takes a few days for the aches to show up. I'd like to see you visit your chiropractor, but understand that you must pay out of pocket for that. If I could send you one of my no-copay chiro benefits I would!
-
I received a call a few minutes ago from a political organization I support. They asked for a $100 donation. Perhaps I am out of touch with the amounts people give these days, but to me that is a sizable donation. I can't do it. I am spreading what I can give over several organizations, and even then it just doesn't go very far. One homeless charity I know now asks for $150. They used to ask for $20. I don't question the need, as I know it's great, but how many people these days can give $100 or more?
-
I got today's Wordle in four tries, but was again unsuccessful in making a decent glass of carrot juice using the NutriBullet. It always turns out gritty. Any NutriBullet fans here? I have a juicer, but there's a lot of clean-up and the NutriBullet would be handier. It's fine for my morning smoothie, but the carrots really challenge it.
-
Off to attempt some cleaning.
TTFN.

Completely agree on seeing someone to make sure you're totally OK.

Four!

The heat is bad enough, but the humidity makes it worse. When I leave the living area, I wilt.
-
As a treat, we are having Chinese food delivered. Should be enough to last for several days.
-
It is quite breezy here.
-
You might almost say it went with the wind.
-
We are re-watching Endeavour from Season 1, Episode 1. Most of these will be new.
-
Temp is 85 here with a chance of rain.
Time to sit on the porch in the rocking chair.
-
And then I have to do a report on the status of the estate for the attorney.
-

That was also my first thought.
-
It is windy out there, and hot.
-
I hope my hat doesn't blow off at the wedding
-
We are off.
-
It was a very slow collision, im.not even sure collision is the right word, he scraped the bus along the front left corner of my car.
My biggest damage was an immediate case of terror and breaking out into a sweat and soaking through my shirt
But once he finally stopped and I back up enough so he could finish the turn I was just angry and got out of the van and went over to give him a good talking to
-
I shall now be on my way to see a show - I pray it's short.
-
Short is good.
-
Good is short.
-
Is short good?
-
Short good is.
-
One midnight gone.
-
Tonight was The Haunting, which I had never seen.
-
But which was mentioned extensively in Tom Ford's book, I believe.
-
Unless I'm mixing it up with some other book I've read recently.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Good is short.
Martin is short.
-
Long night of dancing.

I received a book in the mail today along with a bookmark, business card, postcard and inscription.
I hope to read it tomorrow and Monday.....

We took my mom out to a nice restaurant for lunch to celebrate Vixdad’s citizenship.
She decided she didn’t like her meal so they replace it with a different entree which she decided she didn’t like either
But she had them both boxed up to take home
-
We tipped VERY well
-
One more!
-
Five!
-
No book in San Antonio.
-
Watching a German-Turkish film. It's funny, but I understand the Turkish better than some of the German I'm hearing.
-
The Porch Man Cometh!
Good luck DR RON PULLIAM
He did get here by 10 a.m. and not only fixed the screen that had failed to stay up, but he re-did the entire side of the porch. He said his helper had stapled the screens in place very three feet instead of every three inches as he was supposed to.
Whatever...I have a completely screened-in porch again. Sad that it has been really too hot to enjoy it more than in the mornings.
-
Tonight was The Haunting, which I had never seen.
So...did you watch it?
-
Glad you got your porch fixed, Ron.
-
It's 90 degrees outside. Still.

DR Vixmom slow motion terror makes you jumpy even when it turns out well.

The wedding was nice. We are glad we didn't stay for the unmasked indoor festivities.
-
They gave everyone little bag with a mask and hand sanitizer inside. We didn't see anyone use them ;D
-
Starting the Billy Porter version of Cinderella. It's interesting that it starts with an animated butterfly flying over the scene, exactly in the same way that Holiday in Spain began.
I wonder if I am going to make it all the way through.
-

It's getting worse. Four of the six supervisors at the theater were out with covid last night. They had stopped making us wear masks, but there's talk of making it mandatory again.
-
I always wear mine.
-
good night, all.
-
We wore ours at the outdoor wedding, too many people talking next to us.
-
'night

Back from the show. Nice to see Lanny again. This is his son's show and it has some nice bits and he's personable. He's been working it for three years now. For me, a bit unfocused and all over the place, with timelines that aren't particularly clear. I think with a little work it could move better and certainly be more theatrical than this tiny forty-seat theater would allow.
-
Getting home was a nightmare of epic proportions. Cahuenga was a disaster north of Sunset, so I turned and took Wilcox - WORSE. In fact, insanity. In fact, I rolled down my window and had a rather colorful conversation with two police officers who really didn't understand why it was like this out there. There was some humungous truck going up towards Hollywood Boulevard, with a kind of stage on the back, smoke pouring out of it, and two rappers doing their act. They're lucky I wasn't behind them. Once I was past Hollywood, and back on Cahuenga it was fine and I just missed the Hollywood Bowl traffic.
-
I've had a burger and onion rings at three, so I'm thinking about food at the moment.
-
We had burgers at my co-worker's barbecue today.
-
She lives down in the Chehalis area, which is a little more than a half hour south of where I live.
-
Google Maps took me right to the place.
-
They have a nice two-story split-level, and we ate in their downstairs living room...it was much cooler than upstairs or certainly outside.
-
We all chatted and ate and the TV was on for their 3-year-old (I think) daughter, who was quite personable for someone so young.
-
They two cats, one of whom stayed around and got lots of pets and rubs.
-
The other cat was more skittish, but didn't stay hidden the entire time we were there.
-
Then, I came home and was going to do some laundry, but...I didn't. ::)
;)

I have been hearing on the news all of the fears going around D.C. about protecting those five Supreme Court justices. I have the perfect solution. It is so simple, I can’t believe no one else has thought of it. Why not put 100% of those justices care in the hands of the former school district police chief of Uvalde, Texas!
I understand he is in need of a job.

Good night, Tom, and have a good day, all!
