Well, you've read the notes, the notes upped the percentage, and now it is time for you to post until the upping the percentage cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ASCEND!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I went to bed around 8:45, slept well for about two hours and then all hell broke loose. I was wide awake for over two hours, trying not to disturb Thatch or Annabelle. I couldn't settle, I couldn't get comfortable, and I could not stop the pains in my left leg. I finally slept, and I had many strangte dreams.
-
In one, I was at my Aunt Jean's house in Hamilton, Ohio. I got into my car and began the drive home, but when I got into downtown Hamilton, I had no idea where to go next. I ended up taking a street that ran into a dead end, but there was ahuge, open industrial door with a sign saying it was reserved for UPS, Fed Ex deliveries only. I drove through it into a large parking lot copvered in ice and snow. I drove to an exit, and there was my brother Macbeth controlling traffic. We spoke briefly, and I drove out.
-
I have no plans for today, but I think I need to tackle the pile of mail sitting on my table that I've ignored for the past three weeks.
-
DR vixmom, I hope your brother is doing well today. Keep us posted.
-
DR George, I was surprised by the nudity yesterday. I do not recall ever encountering, during my time marching with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, any completely naked people.
-
That poor mascot must have been sweltering in the heat.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Monday.
DR TCB - the man on the left side of the picture is my single cousin Roe.
He is a big wig at Markey Audio Visuals who travels all over the country setting up video displays and sound equipment for large venues like stadiums and arenas.
Mostly he works for businesses holding their conventions, but he also does a few concerts, etc.

TOD:
The Pink Panther, of course

Good morning to all. Hope the coming week is great for everyone.
-
Last night I read the first chapter of The New Book.
It was nice to meet an old friend - and the new mystery is intriguing.
-
Good morning, all.

We had a reasonable turnout of teenage-ish girls and a couple of mothers and gym teachers last night. No guys yet, so maybe tonight. But we've also decided, because of the upcoming holiday and people's vacations and whatnot, to hold a second round of auditions later.
The theeder is unavailable with a tech week going on, so we're holding the auditions in a school-turned-community center, which is fine except for no a/c. It was rather uncomfortable, with the only recourse being a noisy industrial size fan. There's a nice temperature drop today, but I don't know how much that will help in this place. But it's just for two hours this evening. We'll survive.
-
I am here to report that Heathers: The Musical is apparently the audition song resource du jour, at least among the young women of today.

Anyhoo, even though the turnout was nil re the male contingent last night, that is unfortunately par for the course, and I made them promise not to steal any of DR Jrand71’s Brothers.
But it was immediately evident that this title is attracting people otherwise, a refreshing change of pace and exactly as we’d hoped in choosing the show.

Fifty years ago, I had a very close friend in the Navy. We met at Naval Air Station, Jacksonville FL. While there, he married his sweetheart, they had a son, and I was made godfather.
He reenlisted for orders to Hawaii and they departed Jacksonville Fl (where we were both stationed) a month before I departed to attend the Defense Information School where I trained to be a journalist/broadcaster.
We lost touch, oddly enough, but when I was assigned to a job in Washington DC, I used a locator to find my friend, but he was no longer in the Navy. Trouble was, he should have been as he had reenlisted for five years.
I have wondered about Mike all these years and have used Facebook many times to see if he might be on social media. Alas, it never panned out. I looked at every name that came up and there was no resemblance to my friend.
The last time I tried was last week.
Yesterday afternoon, I received a message on FB. Mike was looking for me and wondering if I might be his old friend.
Holy cow! We have exchanged a lot of personal information since that message. He lives in Phoenix but has sons in North Carolina whom he visits every year. One of those sons is my godson whom I have not seen since he was three months old.
I am, as they say, over the moon about all of this. I can't wait to speak with Mike and do more catching up. Both our lives have been much different from what we used to imagine, but we have both turned out all right.
Just sayin'....
-
That’s an excellent turn of events. Congratulations!
-
And I missed it in the original post, but congratulations to DR Jrand71 on his upcoming closing.
-
I hope and expect to be saying the same to DR Elmore very soon!
-
Good morning, all.

DR George, I was surprised by the nudity yesterday. I do not recall ever encountering, during my time marching with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus, any completely naked people.
I know! I was very surprised...and that no one really seemed to care. There were some children around, but no one had any problem with it. Nothing sexual was going on, they were just nude and getting cool in the fountain.
-
That poor mascot must have been sweltering in the heat.
There were a couple of other sports mascots, too! I couldn't imagine having to be so energetic as mascots are in that heat!
-
That's really cool about finding your friend, Ron!
-
My friend will call me this afternoon! Got the message after posting earlier.
-
I hope and expect to be saying the same to DR Elmore very soon!
It was originally supposed to be today, and now it's set for Friday, July 8. Keep those good thoughts and vines coming!

Does anyone have a hand steamer to get wrinkles out of clothes?
-
To our surprise the hotel in San Francisco had one.
-
I really liked it.
-
And it was easier on my shoulder than ironing.
-
I am thinking of getting one for quick touch ups.

Great photos George. I enjoyed reading about your day.

BK's newest book has arrived (in physical form)! ;D

If I had one, it would probably add wrinkles to my clothes.

We just passed the Patriot Guards, about 15 of them.
-
The motorcycles had little American flags on the back.
-
The two cars said Patriot Guards and were also flying flags.

The two cars said Patriot Guards and were also flying flags.
The best I can say about them is that they looked better than our Proud Boys in their pickup trucks driving around back home.

Hello, 1 guest!
-
Just put up a bunch of inexpensive out of print CDs from the Varese and Fynsworth years. Giving you dear readers first peek before I alert the media.
-
I just grabbed one I was sure I had, and didn't. Thanks, BK.
-
I mean: that I would have THOUGHT I had, because I knew I haven't heard it.
-
Someone grabbed the Sondheim jazz CDs, too and that's brought us up to 63%!
-
Well, it's almost time to get ready for another round of auditions.
With a good start on women, let's have some men tonight, shall we?
-

Nice!

And now...
-
And I grabbed a couple I didn’t have.

Gratuitous Post #101!!
-
Sorry, George!
-
I watered the garden this morning and picked a tiny jasmine flower that smells like a gardenia. It’s not confederate jasmine. I don’t know the varietal. But that flower still smells great all these hours later.
-
Sorry, George!
Timing...it's all in the timing. ;)

Nice story with a happy ending DR RON PULLIAM!
We had a phone conversation that lasted 3 hours and 33 minutes, at which point I begged off. So much information I must digest to catch up on 50 years!!! It was great to talk, and there were memories each of us had that the other had forgotten about.
Surreal. And exhausting, too.
-
That's nice, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
bk's latest book has landed, along with all the various and sundried accoutrements.
-
:)
-
Looking forward to some book reports soon.
-
:)
-
Good night, friends.
-
Nighty-night!
-
Book has arrived in San Antonio. Yay! The cover looks great.
-
A very odd move from Robert Downey Sr. is playing. It's called Two Tons of Turquoise in Taos Tonight, and it makes no sense. But it's fairly interesting. Thankfully, it's less than an hour long.
-
The news out of San Antonio is heartbreaking tonight. More than 40 emigrants were found dead in the back of a truck.
-
Waiting for my weekly test results before I can go to bed.
-
Watching a Prince concert. He really was an amazing performer. Part James Brown, part Little Richard and part his own creation, all in see-through pants.
-

Lovely
-
He was the only performer I ever camped out all night to get tickets to see. It wasn’t as good a concert as the one this film captures. I think he was already on painkillers when I saw him. But he was still electric.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Finished with the test script for a potential web series.
-
Finished with revisions to the screenplay.
-
Had a Cobb salad from Stanley's earlier and am thinking about getting some fruit for a snack. Maybe some assorted berries or melon or something like that.
-
No action for a few hours - would like some.
-
Negativity!

Back from Gelson's - got stuff for tomorrow, plus some popcorn lite for my evening snack tonight.

I just gave my sister one for Christmas.

Elmore, do you remember the web site where you got your new avatar?
-
Oh Ron, what a great story. I am so thrilled that you have reconnected.

BK, I got my copy of your new book today. And thank you for personally autographing it to me! I really appreciated it.

They may have been there, but I was only walking with the Mariners' group, so I didn't get to see the rest of parade participants.

Do you happen to have PETER PAN?
-
My friend David sent me a link to see/download the pictures taken by the Mariners' professional photographer.
-
This is the only official picture that was taken of the two of us:

This was taken before the parade started.

One of the available perks is a 2-fer of "Shakespeare on Broadway" and "Peter Pan."

Hope you like it and look forward to your thoughts. I really did have fun writing it!

TCB, yes, there's a copy of Peter Pan as a perk. If you don't need Shakespeare on Broadway (a wonderful album, BTW), I can separate them.
