Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a medley, and now it is time for you to post until the greatest cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SWIZZLE!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I finally broke down and turned the radiator slightly on so the apartment temperature is no longer arctic and the cats - especially Annabelle, who is prone to colds - are happier. Annabelle and Stella have been zooming and skittering about for the past thirty minutes, leaping and bounding about to my dismay and their joy.
-
I also gave in to my baser instincts, since I have no cream cheese for my bagel this morning, and ordered sausage mcmuffins and hashbrowns, which I've not had in at least two years since the pandemic. A very friendly man just dropped them off, and boy are they tasty!
-
I'm listening to Berlioz' Requiem this morning. Next Sunday, my morning listening will become holiday music through Epiphany: Bach's cantatas for Christmas and New Year as well as his Christmas Oratorio, Händel's Messiah, Saint-Saens' Christmas Oratorio, and various carol collections.
-
Since Elon Musk is one of the really wealthy to benefit from the Fat Orange Baboon's tax revisions, I'm not surprised the ass has reinstated Trump's Twitter account, which only makes me want both of them tortured and beheaded along with their MAGA twats in Congress, beginning with Marjorie Gym Whore Taylor Greene Jim Jordan, and Matt Gaetz.
I never used Twitter, although I had an account, and I nuked it the day Musk purchased the company.
-
I think my leopard-spotted dickie is at the cleaners.

Absolutely disgusting:

And too many idiots still vote for the damned NRA and those gun-totin' GOP shits.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Shitty news this morning all around. Funny, isn't it, how it all has to do with hate.
-
I am greatly envying DR Elmore his sausage mcmuffins and hashbrowns.
-
I had no interest in Twitter from day one, so I have no account to nuke. I, too, wish someone would hack its ass right off the face of the earth.

Happy Sunday! There's a great Broadway Radio Show now up on the website...an interview with Ted Chapin about the updated new edition of his book EVERYTHING WAS POSSIBLE about the making of the musical Follies. Ted and I also discuss his decades running the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization and his involvement with the Tony Awards,. It's a wonderful, interesting converstion...check it out!

Good morning, all.

Spam has a new figgy pudding flavor.
-
That just adds to the shitty news.

Sounds great.

The opera version of Cyrano sounds intriguing.

Good morning!

Wordle: 6/6 I wish they would make the colors more distinctive. The Canadian version, Canuckle, used green and red. The supposed yellow in Wordle looks greenish to me (I'm somewhat color blind) so when the letters are only yellow, I sometimes think they're green.
-
Thanks, DR singdaw, for the best wishes for my family.

Interesting. Never thought of the colors being inaccessible. Thanks, KevinH. Green and red is also problematic for some with color blindness.

KevinH, how’s your Buffalo family dealing with the snow?
-
I don’t want to stir.
-
But I must.
-
Two!
-
Good morning
-
We’ll be heading back out to the convention shortly
-
It’s taking place about 20 minutes from our home

But now we’re eating eggs on roll samwiches

I loved the pictures DR VIXMOM posted yesterday! The costumes and the RING were very interesting.
-
Sunday.
-
I think I have a Twitter account.....to read things from friends.....but I have never posted there.
I think I'll delete it today.
-
I loved the pictures DR VIXMOM posted yesterday! The costumes and the RING were very interesting.
Oh yes, forgot to say --
Nathan and Kristi loved those, too. I showed them because he in particular is a Doctor Who fan, and he knows a couple of other people who went to that.
-
Congrats DR George though I admit to missing your new posting count.
-
Last week Keith cancelled his Twitter account.
-
I wish I had an account to cancel in protest.
-
KevinH, how’s your Buffalo family dealing with the snow?
Our daughter-in-law says people in Buffalo are used to it.
-
It’s taking place about 20 minutes from our home
That is convenient.
-
We’ll be heading back out to the convention shortly
Have fun.
-
It has warmed up to 22 degrees.
-
My errands are finished. It's been a helluva morning. When I went toi clean the litter, I found that one of the cats had either vomited or pooped in the bathtub, so I not only had to clean that out, I then had to drag out the Ajax cleanser and scrub the tub. That led to using the Ajax on the bathroom and kitchen sinks. I had my second cup of coffee while I finished my Anabelle & Thatch revisions/corrections.
-
Then I had the mail and packages from yesterday to pick up once I took the garbage to the basement. I am completely tuckered out.
I'm thinking of getting HBO for the month. I want to see Peter Billingsley's new A Christmas Story Christmas.

Thanks, Jane!

Today, my friend Margo and I are going to see the movie "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and we're going to see it in 3D!
-
I need to get my butt outta bed, take a shower, get dressed and hie myself to the movie theater.
Have a good day, all!
-
Today, my friend Margo and I are going to see the movie "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and we're going to see it in 3D!
Cool. I hope it is good.
-
Cold and damp today.
-
I just want to nap.
-
The bird has other ideas.
-
But let’s get off this page first.
-
One to grow on …
-
Three!
-
Not a great score. Allen said so himself.
-
Started watching Welcome Stranger with Bing Crosby and Barry Fitzgerald. Thought it was new to me, but I have seen it before. Not a great one by any means.
-
I’m fast forwarding to Bing’s songs. Burke and Van Heusen.
-
I'm up, Im up - eleven hours of sleep - straight through.
-
Sunday evening greetings! It’s been really cold here this weekend, but no snow - thank goodness.
-
I’ve spent quite a bit of time on Facebook Messenger, along with my niece in Florida, keeping my sister company. She took her husband to the ER Thursday evening and he’s been there ever since. After many tests, they’ve determined that his gall bladder must come out tomorrow.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I was sweeping the patio when I called to my DH for an unpleasant task. He looked where I was pointing and agreed it looked like a terrible violent attack on the orange feral cat that lives in the backyard. Fur was everywhere, and I could see a body and feet sticking up.
-
We're assuming the cat came out on the losing end of a cat/raccoon fight. We have a mama raccoon with some babies who visit every night. "Bud" must have messed with one of the babies, and Mama reacted as mamas do. I wondered how in the world we could have slept through that fight outside our window. Yellow fur was all over.
-
So he got his gloves and a plastic bag to take care of the unpleasant task. I heard an exclamation from the backyard, and my first thought was that cat was still alive. He's feral, so we wouldn't be able to do anything for him.
-
DH comes back into the house and says "Well, it's not the cat you thought it was." And he opened the bag to show me.
-
It was a stuffed animal from my daughter's bin of stuffed animals that has been in the shed for a number of years.
-
Such a relief.
-
That was my attempt at a Vixmom-style story.
-
Page three seems most unseemly at this time of day.
-
I'm about to go figure out food.
-
Today, my friend Margo and I are going to see the movie "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" and we're going to see it in 3D!
Cool. I hope it is good.
I liked it...a lot of action, but some moments of quietness. If you like the Marvel movies, you'll like this. And it was a nice tribute to Chadwick Boseman.
-

It was a stuffed animal from my daughter's bin of stuffed animals that has been in the shed for a number of years.
Whew!!
-
I'm about to go figure out food.
Speaking of food, I'm at Red Robin, waiting for Margo.
-
She had to pick up her dig from her dog sitters and will meet me here.
-
I'm quite hungry, so I hope she shows up soonly, or I may have to order and eat without her.
-
I'm quite hungry, so I hope she shows up soonly, or I may have to order and eat without her.
Maybe there's a problem with her dig?
-
DR GINNY, I hope your brother-in-law is okay.
-
Food will be here in a moment - pad Thai.
-
Hope it's good.
-
That's the hope.
-
The hope is that.
-
Page three is boring me to tears.
-
And my tears are boring me to page three.
-
Page four is boring me to tears.
-
Thank you, DRs George and Elmore, for the vibes for my brother-in-law. He was complaining initially of chest pain, so we’re relieved it’s not a heart problem.
-
I had no interest in Twitter from day one, so I have no account to nuke. I, too, wish someone would hack its ass right off the face of the earth.
I created a Twitter account when we were encouraged at work to become familiar with social media so we could help our patrons use it. It was very satisfying last night to deactivate my account and delete the app from my devices.

Vibes for Ginny’s Brother in law
-
Laura that was an excellent story
-
I particularly liked the ending
-
We are home
-
We didn’t dress up today
-
Several people from yesterday came up to tell us they were disappointed because they didn’t take a picture yesterday
-
Today I wore my Salvatore Dalek T shirt
-
But I didn’t take a picture
-
But it looks like this

Vibes for Ginny’s Brother in law
Thank you, DR Vixmom.
-
~~~STRONGEST HEALTH VIBES~~~ for DR Ginny's B-I-L!!!!!!!!!
-
Thank you for your story, DR Laura.
-
I was wondering where it was going, but I loved the surprise ending.
-
And was likewise relieved.
-
Pad Thai was very good and filling. But then I was bad and ordered three small beignets from that new jernt. They'll be here in about five minutes.
-
Must do some Yelp reviews of current nernst I've tried.
-
The choral concert at Orchestra Hall featuring six ensembles was enjoyable. And also sold out.
-
About thirty minutes to do for the first of the three Alfano operas I grabbed. The melodic content and orchestrations are wonderful.
-
I wore my mask the entire time, but most of the attendees did not wear one.
-
Interestingly, at the end when all the singers combined on the stage, about 350, they were crowded together and all wore masks.
-
Beignets have arrived. I have photographic proof.
-
All this Alfano stuff is on the Tube of You, should anyone be interested.
-
I believe page four is overstaying its welcome
-
I’ve spent quite a bit of time on Facebook Messenger, along with my niece in Florida, keeping my sister company. She took her husband to the ER Thursday evening and he’s been there ever since. After many tests, they’ve determined that his gall bladder must come out tomorrow.
Surgery vibes for your dear brother-in-law!
🤣
Such a relief.
A BIG relief :)
-
That was my attempt at a Vixmom-style story.
Well done and your husband is a hero.
-
Nice. Then we should like it.
-
Last night in our hotel room we watched Black Panther. We think it is the best of the Marvel movies.
-
I am glad I waited until the wonderful ending to comment.
-
We didn’t dress up today
I expected you would.
-
Vixmom did you at least wear your ring?
-
Vixmom did you at least wear your ring?
The one that contains the brew that is true? :)
-
;D
-
We said our goodbyes :(
-
Oh wow, DR Jane. Such a short trip.
-
As much as we are going to miss her it will be nice to get out of the cold.
-
I am glad you could visit.
-
Of course it is warming up as soon as we leave.
-
Enjoying DR Donald's Ted Chapin show.
-
50 degrees at home will feel like heaven.
-
We are making progress toward a page turn, but I don't think I'm going to last much longer.
-
Not even the idea of popcorn can revive me, I think.
-
Well, at least this is a short work week.
-
A recipe just popped up in my feed that I'd like to try... Lentil Mushroom Wellington. Might be a holiday entree for non-meat eaters.
-
We had delicious tofu enchiladas tonight.
-
I saw a post by former DR Jose that convinced me to try Mastodon as a replacement for Twitter. I have a Twitter account but have rarely if ever tweeted - certainly not in many years. Mastodon seems similar, but is structurally quite different. I probably won't use that, either.
-
That sounds great, DR Jane.
-
A new season of Midsomer Murders is coming to Acorn TV in December.
-
I think that's all for me tonight, but Page Six is well within reach.
-
For someone else.
-
Well, maybe for me.
-
It's only a few more.
-
Really.
-
Just a few.
-
Six!
-
Good night, friends.
-
That sounds great, DR Jane.
The side of black beans with it were unusually good.
-
Thank you to DRs Singdaw and Jane for the brother-in-law vibes.
-
Vixmom did you at least wear your ring?
Nope, jeans, Tshirt and sneakers today
-
It’s turned very cold
-
About 20 degrees out
-
But at least there’s no s***
-
I'm quite hungry, so I hope she shows up soonly, or I may have to order and eat without her.
Maybe there's a problem with her dig?
No...she showed up shortly after I posted my previous post.
-
We had a nice meal, then I ran a couple of errands for my sister, and now I'm at home doing laundry.
-
I ushered for the first half of 8 Man Jam, a country music your that had some fairly big names from the up and comers. Brothers Osborn and such.
-
But I felt so bad I left early. Major pain at the base of my neck.
-
So I am home. Took two aspirin.
I’m glad I left when I did. It started raining 5 minutes after I got in.
-
Great story, DR Laura.
-
Vibes for DR Ginny’s BIL.
-
So I am home. Took two aspirin.
I’m glad I left when I did. It started raining 5 minutes after I got in.
You lucked out there. I hope your neck pain is better.
Hello, 1 guest!
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing. A movie from 2019 I had zero interest in ever seeing, just as I had zero interest in reading the novel it's based on (or as the kiddies today say, "based off" - no, it's based ON) because I read a plot synopsis of the novel and it just seemed too long and too weird, plus I don't read fiction when I'm writing it. But it came up on Tubi (yes, with thirty minutes of commercials to endure) and when I saw it was two-and-a-half hours long I almost passed it by - but I'm really glad I took the chance because it's clever and beautifully done. And the adaptor veered away from the novel in certain ways I'll talk about in the notes, and that's why this works so well.
-
I'm listening to Alfano's most well-known opera, Risurrezione. It's incredibly beautiful - better than the one I'd already enjoyed - if you love Puccini, I can't imagine you not really enjoying this. The tunes are just so beautiful. It's no wonder they turned to him to finish Turandot. The Met should do this one.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I'm bored to tears of page six.
-
Having had the pad Thai I must say I really like that dish and am surprised that I don't have it more often.
-
There are several ghost kitchen pasta places on DoorDash - the prices are revolting. And they're all the same: $27 for simple dishes, while penne with chicken in vodka sauce is $35. Even the best Eyetalian restaurants don't go anywhere near prices like that. I can't imagine anyone ordering from any of these ghost kitchens, but then people never cease to amaze me.
-
Guess I'll write the notes while the movie is still fresh in mind.
-
Okay, what am I missing here??? I go away and write notes at ten-thirty and we do not have a single post since? I'm afraid that will NOT fly.
-
Where, for example, has George got to?
-
I'm baffled.
-
Truly baffled.
-
I'm still baffled.
-
And I'll continue to be baffled.
-
Baffled am I.
-
And you know why.
-
Where, for example, has George got to?
I don't really have anything to say right now. ::)
-
All I can do is sigh.
-
And say oh my.
-
You don't have anything to say right now? Since when has THAT stopped any of us?
-
But you got us to Page Seven!
-
Speak loud.
-
And proud.
-
You don't have anything to say right now? Since when has THAT stopped any of us?
True...very true. ;)
-
If I got us to page seven, surely you can get us to page eight.
-
Did you eat?
-
Did we hear WHAT you ate?
-
My library bought the DVD of Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn, and I checked it out, but I already own it.
-
There's a subject we can all get behind.
-
I just wanted it to have at least one circulation.
-
Did we hear WHAT you ate?
I went to Red Robin after seeing the Black Panther movie, and I had their Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger.
-
I had some sherbet a little while ago.
-
Gratuitous Post #201!!
-
And what did we think of Black Panther Wakwikiwaka?
-
Cheeseburger.
-
Is Red Robin a chain.
-
It was pretty darned good...as usual.
-
Is Red Robin a chain.
Yes, I would assume it's national, but it could just be a regional chain.
-
Do we have a Red Robin in LA?
-
I want some Red Robin NOW.
-
Here are their California locations:
https://locations.redrobin.com/locations-list/us/ca/ (https://locations.redrobin.com/locations-list/us/ca/)
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
The only Red Robin is in Northridge in the mall there.
-
In the list of locations, they don't specify "Los Angeles," so you'll have to decide which location(s) might be close to you.
-
It's a bit far for delivery, unfortunately, but perhaps I'll drive up there.
-
Who's gonna stop me?
-
The only Red Robin is in Northridge in the mall there.
How close is that to you?
-
I'll peruse the menu.
-
The fries are all you can eat!
-
Northridge is about twenty minutes or so depending on traffic. Very close to where Rumbo Recorders was, where we recorded many albums.
-
And they have Coca-Cola® products.
-
I might just go there either tomorrow or Wednesday.
-
Totally free days.
-
We'll need a report!
-
Ten bucks for a cheeseburger and bottomless fries??? I'm there!
-
I hope it's not disappointing.
-
Which one do you get?
-
I also like their Tavern burgers...they're actually a little smaller and simpler.
-
The "mayo" makes me nervous - wonder if they'd substitute 1000-Island for the mayo.
-
I've had most of them, but not the Monster Burger, the Guacamole Bacon Burger, the Royal Red Robin Burger, the mushroom burger, and the vegan burger.
-
Their "Finest Burgers" have something called Bistro Sauce. Have you had that sauce?
-
The "mayo" makes me nervous - wonder if they'd substitute 1000-Island for the mayo.
They've always been able to make changes as requested.
-
Have you had the thing of onion rings?
-
Their "Finest Burgers" have something called Bistro Sauce. Have you had that sauce?
I might have, but I don't specifically remember. You probably could get some on the side and taste it that way before you put it on the burger...or not.
-
Not a huge menu - but I'm gonna have to go try it for sure.
-
I've also had a hankerin' for Bob's Big Boy.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Have you had the thing of onion rings?
I've had their onion rings, but not in quite awhile. I don't doubt that I enjoyed them.
-
We're almost to Page NINE already!
-
Well...
-
It's time for PAGE NINE!!
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Nine is fine!
-
Nine is divine!
-
Nine is mine!
-
Whew!
-
Nine makes me want to dine.
-
Nine should be set to music by Jule Styne.
-
Nine should be directed by Richard Quine, were it not for being dead.
-
Nine is a sign.
-
Nine is thine.
-
Nine should be set to music by Jule Styne.
Nine should be directed by Richard Quine, were it not for being dead.
Jule Styne is dead too, so Maury Yeston beat him to it. ;)
