Well, you've read the notes, the notes were creative and had a Herb, and now it is time for you to post until the creative cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OLFACTION!
-
I’m a huge Herb Alpert fan.
TOD:
I believe that the first song I heard was The Lonely Bull.
-
Other favorites:
Casino Royale
Spanish Flea
Whipped Cream
Rise
-
And, of course, the very romantic, to me…
This Guy’s in Love With You.
Still gets to me. 🔥🔥
-
Happy Belated Birthday, Kevin!
-
John, I’m so sorry about the loss of your friends. 😢
Sending hugs.
-
Welcome home, Jane and Keith!
-
Feel better vibes to all who need them.
-
Oh, Larry, I would also love to see Leopoldstadt.
My friends saw it, and were very moved.
My family members are all Holocaust survivors, and I very much admire the works of Tom Stoppard.
This might be his last play. Hope not.
-
Singdaw, that photo of the cat with the desserts is great!
Gave me a huge laugh. 😄
-
Love the idea of the mystery guest at the Kritzerland event!
Intriguing.
-
Wishing everyone a lovely day.
😊 🎶 🌹

Good morning, all!
-
I slept very poorly, which I attribute to the warmth of the apartment and my concerns about stepping out and traveling with AAR. Temperatures are going up after sitting on 28-29 degrees yesterday.
-
DR JohnG, I'm sorry to read about your friend's death.
-
Surely someone on this site can contact friends of DR TCB and check on him? I called and left a message tgwo days ago.
-
Good morning, friends.

~~~CONTINUED STRONGEST HEALING VIBES~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!!
-
Other works featuring a Nose prominently are Woody Allen's Sleeper and Shostakovich's first opera, Hoc (The Nose).
I think the first Herb Alpert album I listened to was Whipped Cream, as it was in my parent's album collection. I remember being struck by the cover photograph as a wee child.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Herb Alpert was supposed to play locally during the pandemic. He got rescheduled, byt it during my trip this fall, so I missed him. Love Tequila.
-
I just learned thjat my friend, the wonderful critic, playwright, and translator Michael Feingold, died yesterday. He was a prodigious talent. I haven't seen him in maybe five years. The last time was a party to see a documentary about the still living Ziegfeld girls. That was also the last time I saw the talented, wonderful Jack Lee. I will miss them both.
-
Vibes for TCB!
So sorry, Elmore. Too many deaths.
Vibes of comfort for John and Elmore
-
Good morning to everyone
-
Up on my feed: a recipe for orange lemon sour cream cake soaked in orange liqueur. Yes, please.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The Lonely Bull was very likely my first awareness of Herb Alpert. And then I'm not sure which, or how many, of the albums I had, but that one and Whipped Cream for sure. They were a sensation.
I want to see that documentary.
-
Condolences for DRs Elmore and John G. on the loss of their friends.
-
A last pre-Thanksgiving rehearsal tonight, then nothing until Sunday tech and the dress rehearsals. And are we ready to open? Hell no. We even have one singer without a voice due to the unexpected gift of bronchitis a couple of weeks ago. But we've been here before, and it'll happen. These are all talented people and the show will go on.
-
I thought my appointment was at 10:30 but I was wrong. It's at 10:00. I hope AAR shows up on time.
-
Good morning!
-
Happy Belated Birthday, Kevin!
Thank you, DR Iris!
-
Sending vibes to TCB. I hope we hear from him soon.
I like everyone's choices for the TOD.
Of course WHIPPED CREAM and the album cover was much discussed by us at the time.....
-
I've been looking at DR IRIS's avatar and I thought it was a bunch of chickens....imagine my surprise when I put on my glasses and it's.....a bunch of irises!
-
I clicked on MR BK's link to the song.....but I couldn't listen to it.....so sad. Made me remember when Tommy Smothers sang it on tv.....
Who let the dogs out?
-
The referral from the optometrist to the ophthalmologist for my consultation re cataract surgery apparently got lost in the mail, so I just called them myself to set up an appointment. First available appointment for consultation: January 19th. Yep, by then I should just about be able to feel my way down to their office.
-
Waiting for the hand doctor.
-
Speaking of hand doctors, as I recall, our TCB has his carpal tunnel surgery coming up at the end of the month which is next week. It sure would be good to know how he is doing in general.
-
Me, too.
-
Welcome home, Jane and Keith!
Thank you Iris.
-
Turns out, I have Dupuytren’s contractures, also known as Viking’s. I am to have surgery on my left hand at some point. Maybe my right later.
-
Three!
I didn't have many survivors in my family, only two that I know of. The family we had left long before the Holocaust.
-
Thank you, all, for the condolences. It’s been a very weird week. I’m focusing on the grateful part as much as possible.
Yes, on the 29th. Vibes he is well enough to have the surgery as it is too important to miss.
Asking for a friend.
I got to my appointment on time. It took fifteen minutes to get to the East 95th Street office and another fifteen minutes to walk from the entrance to the ophthalmology dept. I will see Dr Wong from now on at the East 22nd Street location. It may take an hour with traffic to get there, but it's a five minute walk to the ophthalmology dept.
-
Dr Wong says my eye has healed nicely. She's happy, I'm happy.
-
As soon as I got home around 12:15, I crashed. I lay down, Stella cuddled up with me, and we fell asleep.
-
Sweet, DR elmore3003. Glad for the good medical news.
-
Surprise!
-
A friend of mine says she is substituting the phrase "Elf That!" whenever appropriate in an attempt to stay off Santa's naughty list.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
The Herb Alpert doc is called Herb Alpert Is... I watched on Tubi, but it may be on other platforms
Given the pain in his hands, I'm thinking it's likely easier to just answer the phone as opposed to typing texts or email.
Last January, we did our all young people show at Vitello's. This is what I wrote about one of the young people's performances: Then came ten-year-old Sadie Reynolds, a little bundle of dynamite who did my twisty and crazy Shermanized Word Medley – five minutes of their nonsense words songs – perfectly delivered and the audience loved it and her.
And then: After that, Sadie was back with the evening’s most affecting song – When She Loved Me, from Toy Story 2. This little girl did it so honestly and simply and it was heart wrenching.
Well, little Sadie is eleven now and just got the lead in The Secret Garden at the Ahmanson, pre-B'way, starring with Sierra Bogess.
I am not really dead, it just feels that way.
I will be back annoying you very soon.
First carpal tunnel is one week from today!!
-
I was up early this morning. Had a cup of coffee and began dressing to go out.
I had an 11:15 a.m. lab appointment at the VA in Aiken, after which I drove over to Sam's Club and bought some Sister Schubert's Frozen Yeast Rolls for my contribution to Thanksgiving Dinner at my cousin Ashley's in Simpsonville, SC.
Driving back into Johnston, I stopped at the post office and found a ton of mail in my box (mostly requests for donations to this, that and the other) and a yellow card, which meant a package.
It was a largish box mailed by one Bruce Kimmel on Nov. 17. It was my Indiegogo haul with CDs, a letter from Ernest Gold and -- drum roll -- the "Li'l Abner" insert!! All is in excellent condition.
Lots of packaging in this box, including some very sturdy plastic bags which were put aside for my smaller trash cans throughout the house. Thanks, BK!!!
I took a longish nap this afternoon, and I am now feeling fit as a fiddle, in fine fettle, and all that sort of fol de rol.
-
That has been my day, thus far.
I will add that Sam's Club, at noon two days before Thanksgiving, is an absolute zoo.
There are the busy shoppers, of course, but our Sam's has its share of elderly shoppers who wander aimlessly about looking at stuff but not really shopping. Just a day out in an exciting and busy venue.
-
I am not really dead, it just feels that way.
Thank goodness!!
-
I am not really dead, it just feels that way.
Oh. It's just him again. 8)
-
I will be back annoying you very soon.
You are long overdue and must make up for all you have missed doling out!
-
First carpal tunnel is one week from today!!
Very generous, but I think I'll pass on this one, thanks.
-
I don't want to inundate DR TCB with emails and texts when it is difficult for him to respond. DR George do you have plans to text again?
I certainly can, as long as I don't make it more difficult for him to reply. :-\
I wonder if it is easier for him to talk, or just be able to respond with OK, or even one letter just to let us know he is ok.
Except he might not feel like talking. If he knows he only has to say hi, ok, and goodbye that might be easier.
I guess it is still difficult as DR TCB as left, but what a joy to see the posts.
-
Thank goodness for DR TCB checking in.
-
So good to hear from DR TCB.
-
Congrats to Sadie. MR BK is obviously the Arthur Godfrey of the 21st century!
-
All this talk of hands is making me nervous.
-
5:46 p.m. Dark outside.
-
A few bassetbaw games on tv tonight that I may watch.
-
I ordered some pizzas today for today and tomorrow. And then on Thursday, I will cook my turkey breast.....we shall see how it goes.
-
Wonderful news about Sadie. I love that score.
-
Glad TCB was here and alive.
-
Speaking of alive, I may be seventy-four but I have to say my driving reflexes are VERY sharp. I just came with probably one INCH of being creamed by a moron ASS. I'm driving west on Riverside. About a block in some cretin comes shooting out of the mall parking lot on the left, other side of the street. swerves around three cars going against four lanes of traffic, coming literally straight at me. I slammed on the brakes, swerved to my right and got ahead of him by one inch- several other cars had to swerve out of the way. Of course, he kept going down the side street. If I wasn't ahead of that side street I would have gone after him, blocked him in and called the cops because morons like that will end up killing someone. THAT was what the wags term a close call.
-
Now I'm home. I did an Amazon Fresh order but had it delivered to the mail place - next time it will be here, but I was going there anyway to pick up a screener (two, as it turned out). They had all my items, so that was nice.
-
Not two screeners - one and a Blu-ray of Doctor Sleep, which has the director's cut on it and which I may watch this evening.
-
Wacky Noodles are being prepared.
-
Work session was quick and good.
-
Good news about Sadie! My friends Warren Carlisle and Rob Berman are director and MD.
DR TCB has surfaced. Wonderful!
-
Glad TCB was back and as pleasant as ever.
Went to a pet store today that had no bird food that JB would eat. Any his Chewy delivery isn’t until tomorrow.
-
Guess he’ll get people food in the morning.
Tell Rob he has TWO of our kids - just found out the Mary alternate is also one of ours - Ava Gray - she's done three Kritzerland shows, including the kid show last January.
-
Good evening.
I'm so glad that TCB checked in.
-
Glad that you (and your car) survived unscathed, BK.
-
Would love to know what's going on in the heads of people that drive like that.
-
Probably the same thinking as people who refuse to wear a mask or get vaccinated.
-
A friend just recommended Scriabin's Symphony No. 1 (in E major). I don't know it, so I suppose I'll need to give it a listen.
I wonder if this new production has anything to do with the revised version that I saw in Seattle a couple of years ago that starred Daisy Eagan as Martha. It was a beautiful production.
Good night, friends.
He got chicken and blueberries tonight. He’ll get some zucchini and cheese in the morning.
Starting to watch Nope. I don’t know if I am in the mood for horror. We’ll see.
-
The Spirit nominations are out. I think Everything Everywhere All at Once is the only nominee I’ve seen.
-
A woman on my team lives in Colorado Springs. In all the emotional aftermath of our former boss dying, I forgot until last night to ask about the Club Q shooting. Turns out her daughter, who turned 23 today, is gay and frequented the club. Thankfully, she wasn’t there that night.
I told her to give her daughter an extra big hug today.
-
Nope gets points for being creepy, not necessarily the same as horror. Really good performances. But the script isn’t as good as it needed to be.
-
I’m going to stop though.
-
I’m getting sleepy.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing, at least for the time being.
-
Is time a being?
-
That is a very deep question.
-
I am, for all intents and purposes, out of butter.
-
This is a problem if I was to desire some popcorn, which came in my Amazon Fresh package. I could go out and gather up some butter, but do I want to go out?
-
That is a very deep question.
-
It seems to me that every evening around this time we suffer from page six malaise.
-
Which is better than suffering from page six mayonnaise.
-
Have to do the dishes from the Wacky Noodles.
-
I was so happy to see TCB back
If you look at the director category you'll see why. The gentleman who just jumped ahead of me, despite the fact that we have the same percentage, you'll recognize - he's been behind the entire time from day one - but because he knows me well, he's merely now aping everything I do right down to cutting and pasting my posts and quoting from them. Amazing!
Tonight, I had an early Thanksgiving dinner at my friend Shelly's.
-
She's going to a cousin's in Oregon on Thursday, so she wanted to have a gathering here.
-
Her cousin Shannon who lives with her was there, as well as Shelly's niece and her boyfriend.
-
Shannon isn't related to the Oregon cousin, so she's staying here and will actually work through the weekend...including Thursday.
-
It was all quite good.
-
AND YET, another mass shooting tonight in a Walmart store in Virginia. Possibly the manager or former manager is the shooter. Possibly ten people dead. Will this nightmare never end?
-
I can’t really type. I have to speak and spell, which can give us some interesting results.
-
I just heard the news about the shooting so I thought I would report. Less than 24 hours from Thanksgiving.
-
And my surgery is already been postponed until the 30th. And change from the doctors office to Good Samaritan Hospital. What world tomorrow’s news bring? Tune in.
-
George? Are you still there?
-
Well, it was, it was close.
Because here it is.
New notes are up. Up are new notes.
I have personally perused them.
Well, I guess I will go to sleep and try not to have nightmares about mass shootings.
Maybe I'll check Tubi - every day brings new titles.
The world has gone mad, I think no one would argue with that.
I'm watching the Joan Hickson as Miss Marple version of A Murder is Announced that I got from the library.
