Well, you've read the notes, the notes were stuffed, and now it is time for you to post until the stuffed cows come home.

And the word of the day is: ELASTIC!

And the word of the day is: ELASTIC!
Which all our stomachs, used to be, when we were young.
-
Good night.
-
Today, I have no plans, so I plan to do just that since I got plenty o' nuttin' (a Porgy and Bess reference) to do.
-
Maybe I’ll Wordle before I sleep

Since I’m still up for no good reason

It's weird that when you modify a post with a Wordle grid, it screws up the color blocks.
-
At least, it has any time I've done that.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Wordle and Phoodle in 4
-
I am thankful I can work at home today.
-
Shouldn’t the TOD be about our weekend media?
-
Doesn’t matter.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am officially an hour behind schedule. It was so peaceful lying in bed with Thatch on one side and Annabelle on the other that I did not want to move.I finally decided to get up around 7:00, an hour later than I usually do.
-
DR TCB, I am so happy you are back with us.
-
I have no plans at all today. My legs are killing me - I suspect it's dehydration - so I think I'll lie around with the cats and drink a lot of water.
-
Good morning.
-
I am still doing dishes.
-
I'm going to have to ask Vixmom how she is so busy and still seamlessly puts on a dinner party for 11 people.
-

Isn’t it nice when that happens?
-
Two!
-
It's always chaos in my kitchen. And I started on Wednesday and kept up with the dishes all day.
-
I'm going to have to ask Vixmom how she is so busy and still seamlessly puts on a dinner party for 11 people.
I would bet it’s one of her superpowers.

I know!!! Right???
-
I swear, that turkey got bought, transported, prepared, stuffed, and cooked in fifteen minutes!
-
It took me slaving in my kitchen half of Wednesday, and all three of us two-thirds of Thursday, to get our meal prepared.
-
Kristi is working for half the day, Nathan is doing a little Black Friday shopping, and I am sitting on my ASS. Recovering.
-
I will work myself into action later.
-
Wae-Ling even came over as usual and prepared the turkey. And then made the gravy.
-
Deep Discount has a good sale on today. Finally ordered a copy of Atlantic City and The Dead.
-
It’s strange but several items on my Amazon wish list have apparently gone up for Black Friday.
-
Good morning!
-
So good to see TCB!
-
Wordle: 5/6
-
Thanks to you and your grandson for the laugh, DR Laura!
-
Congrats to DR VIXMOM on her new millstone.
AND on the lovely photo of the turkey and other delights.
-
I loved reading about everybody's preparations and guests.....such fun.
And of course DR TCB was around.
-
I can't post yet - there are two people ahead of me.
-
I can't post yet there are four people ahead of me.
-
I can't post yet there are five people ahead of me.
-
Well it's about time!
-
I enjoy DR LAURA's new quote.
-
I have started a new post a day on Facebook called 1960's Side Eye if anyone would like to look at it.
-
TOD:
Caesar: None.
Berle: I liked when he made an appearance on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.....
Thomas: most of his series Make Room For Daddy/The Danny Thomas Show.....with Jean Hagen and then with Marjorie Lord. Then Sheldon Leonard moved on and seasons 11 & 12 were not so hot.
Danny & Marjorie & kids also made a great appearance on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour which is one of my top two episodes of the show....the other being the show with Tallullah Bankhead!
-
I am not shopping today.
I sent my check today for the theeder 2023 Fund Drive......and now I shall update the website with some information etc etc etc.
-
I just got a call from Colorado. I didn't answer it. If it was you DR LAURA, text me.
-
I'm going to have to ask Vixmom how she is so busy and still seamlessly puts on a dinner party for 11 people.
Processed foods are my friends
-
I am still doing dishes.
I decided against dishes this year. I bought holiday appropriate heavy duty paper plates, cooked and served in the same Pyrex dishes, served buffet style and let everyone sit where they may.
Used saved Chinese takeout containers to parcel out the leftovers and brought my leftovers home in my Pyrex, moved them to smaller containers when I got home and washed the Pyrex in the dishwasher.
Basically just had the silverware and serving utensils to wash up.
-
DR Vixmom congrats on your new posting status.
-
I'm going to have to ask Vixmom how she is so busy and still seamlessly puts on a dinner party for 11 people.
Processed foods are my friends
I fear to confess it amongst such accomplished cooks as we have here, lest I be cast out into the darkness where men weep and gnash their teeth but my holiday cooking style is tinkering with convenience foods.
Canned peas drained and seasoned with some Penzeys Sunny Paris and some good butter
Frozen turnips that I microwaved and stuck in a bowl and sprinkled with some Penzeys Spanish smoked paprika
Refrigerated Mashed potatoes from BJs that I heated, added sour cream and butter, sprinkled with smoky paprika, dabbed with butter and popped back in the oven to brown a bit
Aldi Store brand stuffing mix, 2 boxes turkey, 2 boxes herb made with packaged turkey stock instead of water
Gravy was Aldi brand packaged turkey stock, jarred roast turkey gravy, turkey drippings and the stock from simmering the neck and gizzards with turkey stock and onions
Cauliflower casserole used frozen cauliflower florets steamed in the microwave
Don’t tell my family: they think I can cook.

Oh I saw that! I didn’t realize it was the beginning of a series! I shall look forward to future entries

I'm going to have to ask Vixmom how she is so busy and still seamlessly puts on a dinner party for 11 people.
I would bet it’s one of her superpowers.
That explains it.
-
I want to know how she managed not to yell for help in the kitchen.
-
Wae-Ling even came over as usual and prepared the turkey. And then made the gravy.
It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without her help.

I get it now. However, had you had dishes plus to wash it would have been different.

I do actually peel 5lbs of white mushrooms and add them to sautéed onion and Penzeys foxpoint seasoning and butter and simmer them slowly for hours with cream sherry

I want to know how she managed not to yell for help in the kitchen.
I actually kept throwing out anyone who tried to wander in and interfere complicate things help

I'm not in Colorado.
-
Haha! Now I know Vixmom's secrets.
-
Vixmom -- I am so glad to see you put the stuffing in the turkey, as God intended.
Tell me -- do you put the giblets in the gravy? I hope so.
-
I am really lazy today. Stella, Thatch, and I napped away the morning. Annabelle joined us about thirty minutes ago, just when Amazon delivered a new book about the Chad Mitchell Trio.
-
A book about the CMT? I shall have to go buy that!
I liked The Brothers Four just a bit more and The Kingston Trio just a little less......but they were right up there in my LP collecting lexicon.
-
DR LAURA are you sure?
I am a geography savant and never make a mistake.
-
Good
morning afternoon, friends.
-
I am back. And caught up.
-
Our Thanksgiving sojourn was a success.
-
There was some mystery and suspense involved in the Thanksgiving meal itself.
-
The MIL's assisted care facility had listed roast beef on the menu.
-
But when the plates arrived, they were the traditional Thanksgiving turkey fare.
-
So all was well in the end.
-
We stayed in town overnight in a hotel.
-
This morning, we helped MIL put up her Christmas tree.
-
And now we are back home.
-
Four.
-
Thanks, DR vixmom, for sharing your kitchen secrets.
-
And CONGRATULATIONS on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament.
-
Very very good to see DR TCB here last evening.
-

I do indeed! And the cooked neck meat

So did I.
-
At one point in the 1990s, the Chad Mitchell Trio gave a concert at Symphony Space, and I went with my frioend John Mekeel, who's in prison now for killing his father. The concert was wonderful, and I went backstage after the show to tell them how important they were to me in the late 1960s and 70s. Two of them, Joe and Mike, were friendly and very welcoming. Chad Mitchell was an arrogant little shit, which was too bad.
-
Thanks, DR Jane!
-
Singdaw, playbill.com had a roundup of reviews of The Hours.
Thanks, DR John G. I'll take a peek. The review in the NY Times was quite interesting. I'd link it here, but it is behind a paywall.

Are you watching GET BACK from physical media, or is it streaming somewhere?
-
I am reading a book by the mother of a rabbi I know about surviving Kristallnacht as a child and her journey out of Germany, fortunately, before the worst atrocities began.
-
I am reading a book by the mother of a rabbi I know about surviving Kristallnacht as a child and her journey out of Germany, fortunately, before the worst atrocities began.
What is the name of the book or the author?
-
I don't normally drink tea. I am on my second mug of the day as it sooths my raw throat from coughing.
-
It's now after noon o'clock, and I'm still in bed...and I feel no guilt, whatsoever. ;D
-
DR Jane, the book is called Agathe's Stories: A Child's Journey from Germany to America by Agathe Maier Glaser. It is not very long. It doesn't seem available generally; I ordered it from print-on-demand Blurb. I am happy to share it with you when I have finished.
-
But, I do need to get out of said bed and at least shower and get dressed.
-
I'm hungry and need to forage for food somewhere.
-
I feel no guilt, whatsoever.
Nor should you!
-
My throat was sore this morning - I am assuming from snoring, since I didn't disconnect my CPAP for travel. However, everything seems fine now.
-
This is fun. Try to sing this, EXACTLY AS NOTATED.
-
WTF?? :))
-
This is fun. Try to sing this, EXACTLY AS NOTATED.
OMG! Who proofread this?
-
Someone who had too much holiday grog, methinks.
-
Five.
-
Here's another one. Check out verse 3:
-
LOL.....my ears!!!!
-
DR ELMORE thanks for link the book is ordered.
Sorry to hear about Mr Chad Mitchell - but he kind of looks like he would be an ass......so not much of a surprise. It's pretty bad when you're kicked out of a band named for you and it's only a trio.....the tribe haz spoken.
-
I don't know the particulars, but I shall be informed by Wednesday!
-
I am watching some college basketball and eating some turkey and stuffing and a biscuit.....left over from yesterday.
-
Sun is shining and it's 48 degrees today. I shall accept that.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. Got to bed very late.
-
Slept four hours, was up for an hour and here we are.
-
Are you watching GET BACK from physical media, or is it streaming somewhere?
I don’t stream. It’s a library DVD.
-
Mom is in the hospital. Her speech was slurred earlier, and she seemed out of it. She’s said to be clearer now, alert and her usual chatty self.
They’re keeping her under observation overnight.
-
DR LAURA are you sure?
I am a geography savant and never make a mistake.
I'm in Arizona.

Thank you for the offer. I found some of the stories at this link: https://saraglaser.com/images/AgathesStories.pdf

DR Singdaw, I am curious about her brother and wonder if I am missing more of the stories that included him, also how long they stayed with their foster parents.

VIBES FOR THE MOTHER OF DR JOHN!

I hope DR TCB is up to posting today.

~~~VIBES~~~ for the health of DR John G.'s mother!
-
I wonder if Amy Adams does her own singing in Disenchanted. So far, her songs are a lot more vocally gymnastic than in the first film.
No. My sister spent the day outdoors and had a picnic with her husband, son and his girlfriend.
-
Hello, everyone,
-
Happy Black Friday!
I hope you're relaxing and not fighting over merchandise.
-
Vibes to John G's mother.
-
My car's been having some electrical issues and next week is full, so I gave up a day of relaxation to take my car to the shop. It was actually a good day to do so, as it was relatively quiet, whereas they're usually mobbed. One problem is fixed. The other one refused to happen in their presence, so we'll have to see how it goes.
-
The streets here on the Westside were relatively quiet as well. Gosh! If it was like this more often I might actually drive more. I took care of several errands, one of which I did NOT wish to do pre-Thanksgiving. So a productive day.
-
I've been meaning to mention a wonderful CD, "A Fiddler's Holiday," with the Jay Unger and Molly Mason Family Band. In addition to some lively fiddling, there's the hauntingly beautiful "Ashokan Farewell," which was used as the theme in Ken Burns' film, "The Civil War." Highly recommended.
-
Good weekend vibes to all.
TTFN.
A quiet day of traffic, truly a treat and perfect day to get errands done.
-
Keith decided, since it was on sale today, to get a travel white noise machine.
-
Long telephonic conversations, then I picked up two returned packages and two small checks - one a Faculty residual that might just buy a happy meal, and the other for some CDs. Both deposited. Streets are pretty empty - store parking lots are filled to the brim and then some.
-
Food has been ordered - trying a new jernt for Philly cheesesteak and hoping for the best - I had some credit left, plus there was a coupon for this place so the entire thing, sandwich and onion rings, was ten bucks.
-
That's what I'M talkin' about.
-
And that's been the day.
-
Vibes for the mother of DR JOHN G.
-
Two returned packages? Crazy.
-
Yes DR LAURA that's what I was talking about. Not a lot of people know it, but Arizona is IN Colorado.
It's being kept quiet by the illuminati...or Liza Minnelli....one or the other.
-
Lots of basketball on again tonight. Some of the games are entertaining others are.....well.....not.
-
The documentary about the young gay actor who played the lead in A Nightmare On Elm Street 2 is on TCM tonight at 2 a.m. Followed by A Nightmare On Elm Street 2.
I may watch. I have seen the documentary on my computer but not on a big screen.....
-
The documentary is titled Scream Queen or something like that.
-
I just KNEW that Liza Minelli was holding out on us! Thanks for confirming, DR Jrand72.
-
Sandwich was very good - onion rings were a bit mushy but not terrible.
-
I could watch the new Top Gun movie but I'd have to view on the computer and I'm not really feeling that - I'm sure we'll get a screener. However, I hated the first movie, so can't imaging I'll enjoy this one.
-
Editing is continuing on SAMI after a slight delay with having to re-sync the sound because the boom mic wasn't where it was supposed to be, track-wise.
-
I'm told I may be able to see it as soon as Tuesday.
-
Well, this is pretty cool (the story about the cat, not the two owners):
Vibes and prayers for John Gs mom
'night
-
Long live Flossie!
-
Finished Magpie Murders tonight. All tied up nicely.
-
And there's still two whole days of the weekend left!
-
That's nice, too.
-
:)
-
Almost to a page turn.
-
Very nearly.
-
Nearly very.
-
Seven.
-
Good night, friends.
Today was just a lazy, lazy, ME day over and above the usual ME days.
I was exhausted from yesterday's drives upstate and back.
I really should get out and about more, I reckon.
-
I'm watching Josh Groban's Great Big Radio City Show on PBS.
-
Celebrated my friend Gail’s and her sister’s birthdays tonight. Dinner st the Argyle, the city’s premier private club. I guess I was in the mood for chicken.
Gail and I shared a perfect chicken pot pie, then I had organic chicken breast that was bathed in a lemon butter sauce. Soooo good.
-
Dessert was peppermint ice cream in a chocolate shell and warm peach cobbler.
-
Very happy.
-
Thunderstorms happening out there. Streets on the way home were covered with water. It’s only going to get worse tonight.
-
Good night, all.
-
Dessert was peppermint ice cream in a chocolate shell and warm peach cobbler.
That sounds lovely
-
Oooh
-
I just remembered I have pumpkin pie
-
AND whipped cream
-
We stayed in town overnight in a hotel.
Wise idea. If you you had stayed there, they might have kept you.
-
Your sister’s husband has a girlfriend?
Vibes for John’s mother!
-
Did anyone else watch the Josh Groban concert from Radio City Music Hall? God, I had forgotten what a thrill it is to stand on that stage!
-
During one song he brought on a ballet dancer, Tiler Peck, to dance the number. The moment she appeared and started dancing, I recognized her immediately. She played and danced the role of Louise Bigelow in the Lincoln Center production of CAROUSEL, with Kelli O’Hara and Nathan Gunn.
She is a wonderful dancer!
-
I wasn’t thrilled with all of Josh’s song selections, but it was okay.
How long ago did that cat die?
-
Yes, vibes for John's mom.
-
And George is where exactly?
-
Certainly not here.
-
I'm here.
-
But George is not.
-
Not here.
-
Somewhere else.
-
Of he fell asleep.
-
Or he's down a rabbit hole.
-
With the rabbits.
-
Despite that, page eight.
-
That's nothing to sneeze at.
-
Page nine would be ever so much more fun.
-
But in order to get there I probably have to post an entire page of ME because clearly I'm getting no help from the errant and truant.
-
Clearly.
-
It couldn't be clearer.
-
I haven't quite finished with my viewing but will rectify that as soon as the new notes are posted.
-
Which will be soon.
-
Page nine would be ever so much more fun.
Oh, you dreamer!
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I am a dreamer and a schemer but I don't drive a Beemer.
-
But in order to get there I probably have to post an entire page of ME because clearly I'm getting no help from the errant and truant.
Which am I?
-
I don't use creamer - then again I don't drink coffee.
-
You are here.
-
So neither.
-
However, George is taking on both mantles - errant AND truant.
-
Well, damn.
-
Did anyone else watch the Josh Groban concert from Radio City Music Hall? God, I had forgotten what a thrill it is to stand on that stage!
I recorded it and watched most of it, so I'll watch the rest later. You got to stand on the Radio City Music Hall stage?? Were you performing, or did you take a tour?
-
However, George is taking on both mantles - errant AND truant.
I has returned! >:(
-
He will have to pay penance, oh, yes, he will have to pay penance or the piper.
-
;D
-
The prodigal George has returned.
-
However, George is taking on both mantles - errant AND truant.
He was just here, a page ago.
-
You now have one minute to get us to page nine.
-
Page nine, that's the ticket.
-
I've got a ticket to ride.
-
Did anyone else watch the Josh Groban concert from Radio City Music Hall? God, I had forgotten what a thrill it is to stand on that stage!
I recorded it and watched most of it, so I'll watch the rest later. You got to stand on the Radio City Music Hall stage?? Were you performing, or did you take a tour?
I was there for a job interview.
-
And yet, George is here but not here.
-
Most unseemly.
-
Page nine it is. Nine is fine.
-
No whine about nine.
-
She is! She also played the role of Young Marie van Goethem in the new Ahrens/Flaherty show Marie, Dancing Still (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie,_Dancing_Still_(musical)) (aka Little Dancer).
Tiler Peck starred in the last Flaherty and Ahrens show, which has been retitled and re-tooled.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
During one song he brought on a ballet dancer, Tiler Peck, to dance the number. The moment she appeared and started dancing, I recognized her immediately. She played and danced the role of Louise Bigelow in the Lincoln Center production of CAROUSEL, with Kelli O’Hara and Nathan Gunn.
She is a wonderful dancer!
Yes, she did, but I have never seen that.
-
They contain a shocking revelation.
-
Oops, I was writing as George was posting - yes, Little Dancer was the original title. They gave us a song from it when we did a Flaherty and Ahrens Kritzerland show.
-
And George is where exactly?
Having trouble posting! :-\
-
And then I wrote...
-
What kind of trouble?
-
I'm having no trouble.
-
I don't know if it was HHW or my computer, but it took me several tries to post anything.
-
We don't need no stinking trouble.
-
Must be your computer.
-
I think it was just my computer, not HHW. Everything seems to be fine now. :)
-
But let's blame it on Tiler Peck.
-
Josh Groban is Sweeney Todd, certainly on paper something that seems like a very bad idea.
-
I have been having trouble posting, too.
-
I blame everything on Tiler Peck.
-
No trouble here.
-
Fast as can be.
-
Otherwise, I was watching Josh Groban, then Sarah Brightman on PBS.
-
Remember when we blamed Jose for everything?
He is also The Beast on December 15.
But now we blame Tiler Peck.
Just think, if she searches her name on Google, she'll be led right here.
-
Hey, page ten! What do you know.
-
Amazingly amazing.
-
Stupendously stupendous.
-
Extraordinarily extraordinary.
-
Quite a feat. Quite a feet.
Just kidding, George.
