Well, you've read the notes, the notes were too late, and now it is time for you to post until the too late cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BEACON!
-
Guess I'll try and get some sleep.
-
Certainly everyone else is.
-
Why should I be the misfit?
-
I like to be fit.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Wishing a very very HAPPY HHW BIRTHDAY to our very own DR Jane!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wednesday morning greetings! No calendar commitments today, but I still woke up at 6:30.
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Jane!
-
So far the DH's case is fairly mild, and I am still testing negative. It's a miracle! Thankful for vaccines.
-
That’s a promising report, DR Singdaw.
-
Good morning, all!
-
My malaise has blossomed into a full-fledged head cold. I have no fever, just a set of clogged sinuses and a sore throat from breathing through my mouth. The news on Covid, Flu, and RSV last night was quite alarming, so God alone knows if this autumn's crop of boosters is doing anything good.
-
I'm happy you are staying negative, DR singdaw.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I am dismayed at the high number of Georgia crackers proving themselves even more stupid than their candidates Marjorie Taylor Greene and Herschel Walker. I cannot imagine their pride at being able to say "yeah, I voted for that brain dead piece of shit."
-
A BIG HAINESHISWAY.COM BIRTHDAY CHEER TO OUR VERY OWN BELOVED DEAR READER JANE, WHO BK HAS KNOWN SINCE SHE WAS FIFTEEN YEARS OF AGE!!!
-
I have no plans for today. As soon as kitty cleanup is finished, I'm going back to bed.
-
I woke up this morning with Miss Hannigan’s song Little Girls as my earworm
-
I wonder what I was dreaming
-
That is a part I always thought would be fun to play
-
Of course there’s that whole “need to be able to sing” thing those persnickety directors insist upon
-
Maybe I’ll Wordle

I love how the singer just casually holds his shopping bags while performing.

I wouldn’t be surprised.

Elated about the Warnock win, even though I agree with y’all regarding the depressing fact of how close it was. But the other side votes team, period, without regard to what a candidate smells like.

Sadly, I have gotten largely to that point myself. I get nothing but stench from the opposite side.

That said, as much as I loathe Ted Cruz, leave his daughter alone. Please.

That was really cool! The very first time I was on stage for an audience was when I was going to Western Washington University, and I was in the chorus of their production of Carmen!

DR VIXMOM thanks for photo of the roast....very nice. And thanks for the meat loaf recipe.
I regretfully inform HHW that the meat loaf here in Indiana has been postponed for one more day.
Circumstances beyond my control make it impossible to construct it today.
I first typed impissable which I definitely think should be a word.

Back from a lovely funeral. Bev was a great woman, and her family showered her with love in the reminisces.
-
I will miss her endless capacity for enjoying life.
-
Gratuitous post 101.
-
Glad I took the day off. I can take a nap shortly.
-
I keep thinking back on Humphrey Bogart in “Stand-In.” Though his character is supposed to be madly in love with a talentless actress, he keeps calling Leslie Howard sweetheart and darling. He even says something like “Sweetheart, if you could cook, I’d marry you.”
-
Sounds like a lovely remembrance DR JOHN G.
-
I think I have seen STAND-IN, but I'm not sure.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
Just taking it easy until I leave for lunch.
-
My last dream before awakening was truly odd. I'm not sure I was even in it - it concerned a young Israeli couple who are supposed to marry but she decides she wants to wait a year. What the HELL is that about?
-
Obtuse comes to mind.
-
Someone said three of their tabs were frozen. I've never had a frozen Tab before - I didn't even know they still made Tab.
-
I wonder if Tab Hunter ever drank a Tab.
-
In an interesting coinkydink (as DR George is wont to say), Andrew Walesch, the music director at our local Twin Cities cabaret supper club, Crooners, has just been selected as the new Artistic Director of the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.

And that is not a euphemism.

Enjoy your tour!

They probably don't allow interior photographs.
-
Nice tree, George.

Bought an amaryllis yesterday for $8 at Trader Joe’s. It’s supposed to bloom within a week. And I can plant it later.
-
MAY I have a drink, please?
-
A Music Man reference.
-
But also apt for a plant.
-
Named amaryllis.
-
The critics seem to be positive about the Avatar sequel.
-
I have neve seen the original.
-
Cactus Cat. She's a bit prickly.
-
Those narrow trees have become quite popular. Even among people who have the space for a wide one, it seems.
I know two different households who have that kind of tree up in their house all year, which they decorate for a few seasons other than just Christmas, and I've come to like the idea. Not enough to actually do something about it (yet), but I do like it.
-
TOBLERONE spelled backward is ENORELBOT.

Just saying.

A question for the populace:
Those of you who use Macs and/or iPads for your web browsing:
In your browser, do you have a number of bookmark icons, i.e., your "Favorites"?
Since I "upgraded" to my current OS on the Mac (I'm on Monterey), the syncing of those icons between Mac and the other devices has gone completely to HELL. I'm referring to their sort order on the screen. If I add an icon or change the order of them on one device, it causes the icons to move around in an unpredictable fashion on the others. In my experience, they literally cannot be synced up in order any more. It's not a deal breaker, though it certainly could be for someone who really has a lot -- but for years these things stayed perfectly synced, and now they don't. Thanks, Apple. Thanks a whole bunch.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Happy Birthday, Jane!
-
I am a Windows guy.
-
That IS a nice tree DR GEORGE.....nicely decorated as well.
-
I am hoping that MR BK goes with the book he has been thinking about and finally figured out how to write.....
-
Populace spelled backwards is ecalupop. Just saying.
-
Almost time for bells.
-
I haven't done Monterey yet, but mine favorites or bookmarks are syncing across all devices fine
-
Back from a fun birthday lunch. Had a cup of chicken soup as a preventative, and a patty melt and a few onion rings.
-
It got up to 82 today. In December.
-
Six!
-
Robert bought me some cookie things and a fun book of B'way posters by Faver, I think.
-
The Dream-O-Matic 6000 says the MR BK's wedding of a bride deciding not to be married means delayed happiness and certainly denotes that you are responsible for your own happiness or success and that counting on others to bring those qualities to you will result in disappointment - it is also not the time to wonder who owns the responsibility for a past unhappiness or failure and to put that away in a box and open the next one to see what awaits.
-
I'm about to look at the cookie things and see what they're about.
-
Please deposit $35 in my PayPal account.
-
Cookie things are about EATING.
-
But why an Israeli bride and groom?
-
I am trying a new DVD burner to see if it works better than the program I have been using for several years and seems to have gone on the Fritz as they say.
-
Tonight is the finale of this round of The Amazing Race.
I like two of the three couples remaining, so I will only be disappointed if the couple from BIG BROTHER wins.
-
An Israeli bride and groom is a nod to your heritage and your first idea of marriage being that of a nice Jewish couple....
-
And the Timberwolves and Luka Garza are playing the Indiana Pacers, so perhaps I will see him jumping around a bit before the game and on the sidelines.
-
I made my Christmas visit to Dollar Tree for gift bags. I had a little extra time afterwards, so I went yo Big Lots, which had a better selection for less money. I bought at both.

-
Hello, everyone.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR JANE!!
May you have a lovely day and a great trip!
-
I had my hair cut today, the stopped at my favorite food store, where they had much I like and I indulged.
-
Tomorrow the new heater will be installed -- hopefully. It was supposed to be yesterday, but the manager got the dates mixed up, so I waited around for nothing. (She has a poor memory and never writes anything down.) We'll try again.
-
If anyone needs a space heater, I recommend this little Vornado. It does a great job.
-
Negativity vibes for Singdaw and his DH.
Sing, have you checked your PMs?

Condolences to John G and to all of us who have lost friends.

So sorry. Hope the symptoms don’t get any worse.

I have started The Power of the Dog. I’m liking it, but it’s too much of a downer to take in all at once.
-
Oh, John G, you think it’s a downer now?
Just wait.
😬
-
Feel better vibes for Singdaw, Larry, and all who need them.
-
Trying to watch something but not succeeding, so listening to all the Ernst Toch symphonies. Very interesting. Modern but accessible. In about thirty minutes, I'll go put some gas in the motor car.
-
I think my tummy is displeased with the onion rings from earlier.
-
Nobody can be sick on BK’s birthday.
We need everyone to be able to celebrate with ham and cheese chunks.
And partaking in the forbidden dance.
-
The Lambada.
😊
-
Oh, John G, you think it’s a downer now?
Just wait.
😬
Ha! I can just imagine. So, I am going to spend some time with The Trees, a lynching comedy.
-
DR Singdaw, are you planning to take Paxlovid?
-
Good idea, John!

Just received a message from the NYTimes.
-
Reporters and editors are going on strike tomorrow.
They are striking for better wages and health benefits.
-
They have requested all digital subscribers to refrain from reading the paper tomorrow.
And to NOT do Wordle.
😯
-
The message was received by an associate who is one of the editors.
They are also requesting the ability to work from home when possible.
The paper is demanding return to work in person, 5 days per week.
-
Signing off to find out more information.
Wishing everyone a good evening.

Good night, all.

Awww. Feel better vibes for Vixdad.

I put gas in the motor car. This station near me used to be the most expensive within miles, at least a buck more than anywhere else - a Shell. Now it's an independent station and the cheapest for miles. Tonight's cash price was $4.69 - first time under five bucks in eight months, I think. Then I needed some air in the tires because that warning light was on and it tells you each tire's number, tire pressure-wise. The guy in the booth is terrific and really nice - he's been there every time I've been there. I told him I needed some quarters for the air machine but he said he'd just turn it on for me - which he did, so that was free. My kind of customer service and for that he and the station get my unending loyalty.
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR Jane!
🎂 🥂 🎈 🎉 🌹
Thank you 💜
-
Home now and listening to Toch's fourth symphony, which will be followed by the fifth, sixth, and seventh. Fortunately, only the first symphony is of substantial length at forty minutes. All the others are under thirty except one.
-
Hope Jane had a beautiful day. I've known her since she was fifteen, you know.
-
Onion rings still haven't fully digested - hopefully, by bed time they will have.
-
Do I smell something?
-
Happy Birthday, Jane!
Thank you for the wishes and for making my day extra special.
-
Could it be - page nine?
-
Hiding?
-
In plain sight.
-
Just waiting to make a surprise guest appearance?
-
I'm confident we'll see it soon, oh, yes, I'm confident we'll see it soon.
-
DR Laura picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the top of the mountain for a beautiful four mile hike.
-
It has been a long time since I have had a good hike. I LOVED it.
-
I bought a little portable air thing - pretty cheap, and it's just like the thing I used except it fits in your hand. You charge it when not in use. That way, I don't have to worry about doing it at the gas station.
-
Paging page nine.
-
Paging George Kaplan.
-
Name that movie.
-
I'm waiting.
-
Some wait for Godot, I wait for page nine.
-
I forgot how long 4 miles can take on a rocky hike. On out flat walking path it takes half the time 🤣
-
Okay, is someone gaslighting me.
-
I knew you were here somewhere. Presenting page nine.
-
Now, where's page ten?
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR JANE!!
May you have a lovely day and a great trip!
Thank you. So far the celebration has been fun.
-
Toch's fifth symphony is only twenty-three minutes long and is his most well-known symphony, titled Jephta.
-
Tomorrow the new heater will be installed -- hopefully. It was supposed to be yesterday, but the manager got the dates mixed up, so I waited around for nothing. (She has a poor memory and never writes anything down.) We'll try again.
Yay and groan. Vibes it happens tomorrow.
-
Nice tree George.
-
Cute prickly cat Singdaw.
-
But I'm not really enamored of the conductor who did all these, Alun Francis on CPO. I feel that same way about his performances of the Milhaud symphonies. I have other recordings of Jephta that are brilliant. The Francis-conducted symphonies aren't bad, he just doesn't seem to have a firm enough grip on them.
-
Jane, did you take photos?
I’m glad you had such a lovely birthday.
-
Hope Jane had a beautiful day. I've known her since she was fifteen, you know.
Yes I did. Great hike with DR Laura, then a wonderful dinner with Flip and his wife.
-
Speaking of which…
-
It is officially Dec. 8 here on the East Coast.
-
HAPPy BIRTHDAY, BK!
🎂 🎉 🥳 💃 🕺 🎈 🎁 🎶
-
Time to party!
😄
-
We ate at a very nice Italian restaurant. The food was excellent, especially my birthday Canoli which arrived with a lit candle.
-
Where is everyone?
-
Guess I will eat this entire chocolate cake by myself.
-
Jane, did you take photos?
I’m glad you had such a lovely birthday.
Keith took a coupleof photosfrom our hike and put them on FB. I can't post them using my tablet.
-

Were you in Phoenix?
Or Scottsdale?
Or….?
-
It is officially Dec. 8 here on the East Coast.
Then, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE who I have known since I was 15 🎂🥂🎁💜😘
-
Jane, which restaurant?
Were you in Phoenix?
Or Scottsdale?
Or….?
Avanti in Phoenix.
-
On 28th and Thomas?
I LOVE that restaurant!
-
Avanti was always our special occasion restaurant.
I moved to Phoenix right after it opened.
Great choice for your birthday!
-
It is getting late here.
-
Bruce, have a wonderful birthday.
May all your wishes come true!
-
Good night, all.

DR JANE just reading about your day made me tired.
-
DR Laura picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the top of the mountain for a beautiful four mile hike.
It has been a long time since I have had a good hike. I LOVED it.
That's great, Jane!
-
And we're done!
-
It went quite well.
-
Only missed a couple of light cues, but I got them, fairly quickly.
-
There are no notes for me, so I'm about to leave.
-
Here's a video I made for MR BK's birthday 8 or so years ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXkNGS7OPZc
-
Jrand, ding, ding, ding.
-
I remember that vid.
-
I remember sky.
-
It was blue as ink.
-
Or at least I think I remember sky.
-
I could quote North by Northwest dialogue until the cows come home.
-
Games? Must we?
-
Funny, the plane's dustin' crops where there ain't no crops.
-
Is this a joke?
Yes, a joke. We will laugh in the car.
-
Leonard?
-
Apparently the only performance that will satisfy you is when I play dead.
Your very next role - you'll be most convincing, I assure you.
-
Roger, pay the two dollars.
-
You gentlemen aren't trying to kill my son, are you?
-
I'm an advertising man, not a red herring.
-
That's how you write memorable dialogue, something that seems beyond just about every screenwriter these days.
-
Where'd everyone go?
-
To the races?
-
Doing the Limbo?
-
The Hokey Pokey?
-
Maybe I'll get the notes written early.
-
Page eleven has made a guest appearance.
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR Jane!

I was watching my ownself on YouTube videos.

Singdaw I am sorry to hear the Covid caught you.
-
Hope you are restored to health quickly
-
It has officially been BK’s birthday for one hour and 32 minutes from where I sit
-
So happy Birthday bk!
-
And now to sleep
-
Perchance to dream
-
Good night
-
Thanks and goodnight DR VIXMOM.
-
I am watching Last Night In Soho which is interesting so far....especially the music.
-
I am in too much pain to stay online. Good night.
-
I enjoyed Last Night in Soho.
-
Having some nuts as a little snack.
-
I see everyone has seen fit to leave.
-
I, on the other hand, haven't seen fit and I've looked everywhere.
-
I do sense that page twelve is lurking somewhere.
-
I'm being bad and eating the rest of one of the cookies - well, it's my birthday and I'm allowed.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
I really don't.

Ten minutes to birthday - CA time.
