Well, you've read the notes, the notes were nearing the finish line, and now it is time for you to post until the finished cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MOTIVATION!
-
Happy Birthday to Kevin's sister, (former) DR Kate!
-
Topic of the Day: probably Scrooge, Independence Day and 1776 are the movies that I've watched the most. My family used to watch Scrooge at least once per Christmas season, and we'd switch each year between the other two for the 4th of July holiday.
-
BK, you're reached another posting plateau:

;D
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!

I did end up making one hot dog in the frying pan, in a bit of butter and boy was it great. Two more of those tomorrow, baby.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Nice to see DR TCB here last night.
-
Enjoyed DR vixmom's tales and photos from the fair.
-
Did you stay too long at the fair?
-
Fair's fair.
-
Now we know how they fared at the fair.
-
BK, is there a potential for Concord Theatricals to make that Peter Pan album available again?
-
Exciting that Sami! is nearing the finish line.
-
TOD:
Probably The Wizard of Oz and Harold and Maude.
-
An unlikely pair.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I did not sleep well, but I remember two dreams. In the first I was at the home of DR vixmom, swimming in her pool. I think I was house-sitting.
In the second, I was either watching a movie or I was in 17th century Paris, and it was something to do with a young musketeer and the young lady he loved. He was a pacifist, and the song "I won't duel, don't ask me" kept running though my head. And there was a huge riot at Notre Dame cathedral.
-
This morning I have a Zoom meeting about the first scene of the ballet.
-
Good morning, all.

Work related dreams that were actually pleasant for a change.

I have been hearing good things from friends about a movie featuring Bill Nighy released at the end of 2022, Living.
-
Let's get this page over with.
-
I'm over it.
-
Two.
-
Good morning to all. I hope everyone has a great week.

TOD
there are many films that I have seen multiple times over the years. I have lost count. They are a wide range of films and genres. In no particular order
Beat the Devil
Casablanca
The One Armed Boxer vs The Flying Guillotine
The Sound of Music
Maltese Falcon
2001: A Space Odyssey
sordid Live
First Nudie Musical
The In-laws
It’s a Mad Mad Mad World
Singing in the Rain
And I’m sure there are others

Thatch seems to like sleeping next to me, since he's done it for five years now. Last night we had a first: I woke around 2:30 to find him buried under the blankets and sleeping next to my body. Annabelle's done that for years, as soon as she's cold, but last night was a new thing for Thatch.
-
The bed's made, and I have an hour until my Zoom meeting. I'll work on the Bows for Dear World until then.
-
Sorry, the walking all dayat the Faire under the sun in 80F weather took its toll and I fell asleep
-
Yes DR Iris, it was in Melbourne. We've already decided it's a must do next January
-
Thank you George! I agree, my SIL is a handsome lad!
-
Elmore, you are welcome in my pool anytime!
-
I have to try to shrink some more pictures toget them to post
-
But i need to shower and dress now as were going tomeet the kids for lunch

Lunch vibes for DR VIXMOM.......great picture!
-
I am enjoying reading about SAMI in the notes!
Proofing vibes and laptop Tv vibes for MR BK.
-
I had an actor in JOSEPH last summer who never turned to the back of the book and looked at the music.....he read his lyrics from the libretto.....and some of them were different.
I could never get him to understand he needed to look at the MUSIC pages.....
I hope he enjoyed his time in my musical. Of course other directors will use him again.....but that's their funeral, as they say.
-
Meeting vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
TOD:
Titanic (1953) - probably about 13 or 14 times since it's been on TV beginning in 1962.
Attack of the 50 Foot Woman - probably a dozen times.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great picture, vixmom!
Hard to imagine doing that kind of thing in Florida, but I guess it works in January... :)
-
Now that I think about it, the last time I was at Disney World down there was in January 2015, and we froze our ASSES off.
I remember one night in particular, for late hours in the Magic Kingdom, when I would literally have been perfectly comfortable if I'd been wearing my outdoor winter gear from up here.
That was the winter of continuous sub-zero temperatures and one huge snowstorm after another. We watched Boston getting buried on the TV, and our flight back to White Plains made it just fine, perfectly timed between storms. Somehow everyone knew the rest of the winter was going to be like that ... and it was.

This apparently is not "news", but it was a big shock to me this morning. Someone posted on Facebook that the Wellington Hotel in NYC is closed, like, permanently, which apparently happened last year.
Just as shocking and sad, its "Park Café" coffee shop is likewise gone. That had been one of my favorite coffee shops in the city for many years, going all the way back to when I'd be staying at the Wellington on college trips to NYC. The food there was always delicious, no matter what I had at any given time, and it was such a perfect place, convenient to so many things in midtown. I remember the last two times I ate there both being for Encores! One of those times was with Kristi and Nathan, before seeing (I think) 1776. The last time was with them and DRs Elmore and vixmom, after ... oh, what the hell was it? I'll have to look through programs or photos taken. Grand Hotel, maybe?
-
The Wellington was introduced to me as "the musician's hotel" back in the late 1960s and early 1970s while in school in Cleveland and going to NYC to see the occasional opera or concert. My memories of the lobby and the rooms back then are pretty vague, except for one of the rooms being so tiny it was practically a challenge to turn around in it. But it was ideally located, reasonable in price (apparently even for students then), and you always saw someone you knew in the music world. It was our "Grand Hotel" with the people coming and people going.
So I'm sad, not just for this one spot and my own memories of it, but for how places like NYC continue to become less and less hospitable and affordable. And I'm crushed about that damned coffee shop. It just happens that almost every place I liked to eat in my first visits to NYC, up to when I'd moved here and went into town often through the 1990s and later, is gone. The coffee shops, delis, and certain restaurants -- gone. It's just like in LA and everywhere else, and that doesn't cheer me at all.
-
Is winter over yet? Happy to have driveway snow removal. But I am so sick of all of this snow.
-
I guess I got the names confused. But I was looking at Vixhubby and thinking that he looked a bit young (thought that it was a pic of Vixdad).

Good catch George.
-
DR Vixmom, I enjoyed reading about your fun time at the fair.
-
I very much enjoyed the photo.
-
The one time we went to Disney World we began our trip during a heat wave. On the third day of the trip, the day we actually went to DW, it was 25 degrees.
-
We got a dusting of s**w but hopefully it's over.
Temps in the low twenties, they say, this afternoon and tomorrow.
-
Page Three - interesting story DR CHAS SMITH.
I wish the ending had been better.

MR BK here are a few ways to hook your PC to your TV and what you will need.

TOD:
In the early 80s, when cable was young, they used to play a handful of movies over and over again. I think I saw each of these, like ‘em or not, several dozen times.
Victor/Victoria
Shoot the Moon
Top Gun. (Hated it them, hate it still. A roommate loved it.)
-
TOD 2:
A few others that I love snd have seen many, many times:
The original Hairspray
Casablanca
The Band Wagon
The Ref
A Christmas Story
Holiday Inn
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.

Is it Friday yet?

I just got out of the bath to find my cats have gone completely insane this afternoon. All three are running wild: Annabelle has climbed all over me then, while I fixed my lunch, she sat in the kitchen sink to watch, then rode on my shoulders to the table; Thatch and Stella are leaping like dervishes around the apartment. It's most unseemly.. Usually, at this time, they're all napping

Only Tiler Peck knows for sure, DR John G.

Freezing rain is in the forecast.

Dear Ms. T. Peck: do you know for sure?

Oh, no...Lisa Loring, the Original Wednesday Addams, Has Died at 64 (https://nowthisnews.com/news/lisa-loring-the-original-wednesday-addams-has-died-at-64). :(

Last Wednesday night, the publicist for Sami got a phone call about a rumor. I was told about it immediately, but then no confirmation of it so we assumed it was just wrong. Sadly, it wasn't wrong and I am devastated to tell you that Cindy Williams has passed away.
-
Congrats, George, on your callback.
-
Is the RenFaire a permanent one? I used to go to a seasonal one near Agoura (southern California).

Bruce, I'm so sorry.
-
Very sad to hear about the passing of Cindy Williams, a brilliant actress in both dramas and comedies. I am so looking forward to seeing her one more time in Bruce's SAMI series. Please check out Cindy's work in American Graffiti, The Conversation, and, of course, The First Nudie Musical.
-
I have been hearing good things from friends about a movie featuring Bill Nighy released at the end of 2022, Living.
Yes, it's one of the few I want to see. Do you know if it's streaming anywhere?
-
I just saw news reports announcing it. Shocking news. Just horrible. Very sorry, BK.
-
I had some good news on the home front. Apparently, a decision was made regarding the roof and ceiling issue and the handyman is due tomorrow to work on both. The simpler option was chosen, so my ceiling should be done tomorrow, as well, and I do not need to vacate for a week.
It rained again last night and this morning, causing even more damage. I truly hope all goes smoothly and the ceiling doesn't completely collapse.
Thanks for all your vibes on this. I really do NOT want to have to go through it again.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Bruce, am shocked and saddened by the news .
Sending you my deepest condolences.
-
Bruce, I'm so sorry to hear about Cindy Williams. I was shocked when a friend texted me about her passing.
-
I am so sorry to hear about Cindy’s passing. She was also a fine dramatic actress as see in The Conversation and Travels With My Aunt.

What did you think?
I read the book when it first came out and wished I had chosen it for my book pick. Everyone liked the book, just to different degrees. It made for an interesting discussion. I do recommend reading it.

Bruce, I just went to facebook to read all the posting there and see the photos.

From the Hollywood Reporter:
Williams can be seen on the Amazon Prime shortform musical series Sami, which premieres in April and is produced by Bruce Kimmel.
“I’ve known her since we began at LACC in 1965, have loved her from the moment I laid eyes on her, and have had so many incredible adventures with her. We were as close as close can be, from then until now. And I’ve been watching her constantly as we’ve been editing the series we just did and wrapped only two months ago,” Kimmel said in a statement.
“I’m so grateful to have had her be such an important part of my life for close to 60 years. I will miss her like crazy, but I’m just so happy we got to work together one final time, and I can’t wait for the show to air — she was funny, charming and brilliant right up to the end. I’ve never known anyone like her.”

PAGE SIX LAVERNE & SHIRLEY MEMORIAL DANCE:
-
Well, guess everyone just disappeared, so here we are on page six.
-
No postings for two hours.
-
Seems we should have had more postings about our wonderful Cindy.
-
But George went down a rabbit hole so...
-
Here we are on page six and not even very far on page six.
-
In other words, there's a lot of page six to go.
-
But I have to go to sleep in the next ten minutes so...
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
And George is down a rabbit hole and so we'll never get off this damn page.
-
Ever.
-
Not a chance.
-
No way.
-
Cannot happen.
-
I see no path.
-
No path sees me.
-
Or should that be no path sees I.
-
And George is still down the rabbit hole.
-
And you'd think he'd be here.
-
This is much better than any old rabbit hole.
-
And yet, here we are.
-
Can't do more, I'm afraid.
-
And George is down a rabbit hole and so we'll never get off this damn page.
I was ketchuping on FB and came across your post of Guy Haines' recording of "When You're Alone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLPii9vytsQ)." I had to listen to it!
-
I should have been in bed minutes ago.
-
PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
Well, well, well, with no help whatsoever at least we got to page seven.
-
NOW he shows up. Well, get just to page eight you errant and truant whatnot.
-
BK, did you see my post #179?
-
There were reasons!
-
I saw it. Guy also saw it.
-
And I was reading posts and tributes about Cindy.
-
I saw it. Guy also saw it.
I didn't know he was on FB. ::)
;)
-
So, here's something.
-
I really like the cast recording to Roger Miller's Big River.
-
I only found out a couple of years ago that there's an Australia cast recording!
-
BUT the only copy that I'd been able to find was on eBay...and it's $179.99 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/274751736786)! :o
-
Still short of 200
-
Very short.
-
Martin Short.
-
I've been watching this since I found out about it, but there was no way that I'd pay that much for it.
-
Oh well.
-
THEN, somehow I was doing a search for something else, and I ended up in Australia's eBay.
-
Nothing to be done.
-
Rabbit holes abound.
-
And I though, I wonder if the Australian Big River cast recording was there, AND IT WAS!
