Well, you've read the notes, the notes were wired, and now it is time for you to post until the wired cows come home.

And the word of the day is: ZANY!

Here's the signed album art for Gaby Moreno:

And here's a close-up of her autograph:

Notes ogled. Contemplated.

Today (Thurs.) was Lil Girl Rodzinski’s 5th birthday. I have no more babies, just big kids. One neat thing is that Dolly Parton will send your kid a new, free book every month until they are 5. So we got the last book with a farewell message from Dolly, and it made me sad.
-
We took the birthday girl to a movie as was her wish. A kids movie called “Mummies.” It was the only kids movie we could find. Kind of peculiar, Spanish-made animated movie. Not a single actor I’ve heard of as voice talent, which I actually appreciate because famous people take me out of the picture. The two leads are actually great, expressive, gorgeous. The villain is so hateful though, like an evil cross between Terry-Thomas and John Cleese. You really hate every moment he’s on screen. Not in a good way.
There’s a whole sequence where the two ancient mummies brought to modern times infiltrate a London production of AIDA. Completely bizarre. We were 4 of 7 people in the theater, so this thing is quite under the radar.
Anyway, I saw a movie, which is rare anymore.
-
Listening to Gaby Moreno now. Thanks DR George!
-
Happy fifth!
-
Thanks BK!
Late for Ask BK Day, but… is She of the Evil Eye a single individual you’ve had over all these years, or a general name used for multiple people?
-
Oh! I watched a movie on the flight home. “Get Out,” which I had wanted to see when it came out. More Twilight Zone-y than true horror. Great acting. Some legitimate great, creepy scenes. Kind of silly too.
Then I tried Jordan Peele’s follow-up, “Nope,” and couldn’t get into it. I noped out of that one, as the kids say.
-
Due to being on a different airline on the way back, I couldn’t watch the 2nd half of the Val Kilmer autobiography doc. So I’ll never know how his story ends.

Listening to Gaby Moreno now. Thanks DR George!
You're welcome, Rodzinski! I'm looking forward to hearing more of her, too!
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to Lil Girl Rodzinski! :D

Note on LAX: there are newer gates at that airport that are literally about a mile walk from the terminal entrance. There are these little box-like vehicles for courtesy but they are slower than walking and won’t take you up or down the 8 escalators you encounter along this hike.

She of the Evil Eye has been with me since 1998.

Good morning, friends.

The new Some Like it Hot is released digitally today.

I thought Shucked was today also, but I don't seem to see it.

I wonder if Shucked has a number about the children of the corn.

Good morning, all!

I slept well for about half the night. Then I had a dream about an actor, 10 years younger than I, with whom I had a really messed up romantic relationship between late 1979 and 1986 or so, when he moved to Los Angeles. The dream was quite weird; it took place in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Middletown, Ohio, clearly many years later than 1986, but we were still around 23 and 33 or so. When I woke, it was 2:28am, Annabelle, Stella, and Thatch were all sleeping around me, and after I wept a bit for les temps perdus, I could not get back to sleep.

Today I have much ballet work. Yesterday was tied up with groceries and the housekeeping that used to take me about two hours and now takes four to six.

I can finally get to work on the Ballet. Joshie asked me how soon I would finish it because he might need me on something else.

I wanted to praise Jeremy's sketches for the Annabelle & Thatch book. Nothing's ready for show, but I love his concept, and the sketches are quite delightful.

I enjoyed the notes. I am not a particular fan of TPATSG...although I like Marilyn in it.
Laurence Olivier is just not my cuppa and his ham acting makes me close my eyes in most things. And he certainly is not matinee idol handsome no matter how people seem to try to convince me he is.

I do like RICHARD III which seems right up his alley.

Here is the opening of Jesse Green's review of Bad Cinderella in The New York Times:
= = = = = = =
First: Bring earplugs.
Not just because the songs in “Bad Cinderella,” the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that opened on Thursday at the Imperial Theater, are so crushingly loud. The dialogue, too, would benefit from inaudibility.
For that matter, bring eye plugs: The sets and costumes are as loud as the songs.
If there were such a thing as soul plugs, I’d recommend them as well.
That’s because “Bad Cinderella” is not the clever, high-spirited revamp you might have expected, casting contemporary fairy dust on the classic story of love and slippers. It has none of the grit of the Grimm tale, the sweetness of the Disney movie or the grace (let alone the melodic delight) of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. Instead, it’s surprisingly vulgar, sexed-up and dumbed-down: a parade of hustling women in bustiers and shirtless pec-rippling hunks.
Finally, a Cinderella for streetwalkers and gym rats!

IHOP's current special is a variety of crepes which can be had alonr or combo with various breakfast offerings

I wanted the fresh fruit crepes on their own which was a reasonable calorie count but cost $13.99

Also on offer was 3 bacon strips, 3 sausages, 2 eggs, hash browns andc2 fresh fruit crepes for $11.99

In the interest of economics I opted for the several million calorie count menu item

I am nothing if not frugal

We have been emailing photos of planes to Freyja. Our last photo is of our actual plane. She likes to know the different airlines and Japan Airlines is new to her.

Thanks Singdaw.

That is cute!

We think so 🙂

We should be boarding soon for our 10 hour flight.
-
Boarding keeps getting delayed.
-
I only caughr a few words of what she said, only delayed and 1:45
-
Keith asked and it has something to do with the toilets.
-
Fingers crossed they quickly fix the problem. If we miss our connection we will have to spend the night in Tokyo at the airport.
-
Groan, they just delayed until 2:10

Immediate boarding vibes for DR JANE.

If you give a pig a pancake, I usually eat it.

We have a forecast calling for HEAVY rain tonight and scattered thunderstorms.....until about 3 a.m.
Tomorrow we are cleaning the barn [theeder] in preparation for next week's GREASY auditions.....hopefully the weather will be clear by the time I have to drive over there.....about noon or so.
-
HHW stomachitis has struck.
I don't know what I ate or whatever.....but it is not comfortable. Started early this morning before I even ate anything.

I had to do it because otherwise the phone just rings and rings and rings.

Very good news, DR Jane.

DR RLP I think you've been hacked on FB

BABYLON landed with a thud on my front porch....perhaps I will watch it tonight after the two ball games are over.

I walked to the bank to pay for the Disneyland trip. It was exciting.

The neighbors had a landscaper come to remove the weeds. He didn't remove them, but he did spray weed killer. Sadly, it is a breezy day. I wonder how many plants I'll lose due to the drift.

Oh -- when Bad Cinderella comes through on tour, I'll be trading those tickets in.
-
I'm trying to think of the last time I ate at a sit-down restaurant with a server. It had to be last April when I attended a meeting in L.A.
Prior to that, it would have been B.C. (Before Covid). Probably a few years before.
I am not counting the buffet, which we go to a couple times per year, when there's no pandemic.

That's pretty much everything on my mind.

No leaks. But the repair was just caulk and it wears out. No guarantees for next fall. LA housing is a very depressing situation.

Yikes. I'm sorry.

Desperate for something interesting to watch, last night I tried a show I'd so far avoided, BEYOND PARADISE, starring Kris Marshall. It was OK. I suspect I'll tire of it quickly, but it's OK for now. If you don't like horror or lots of violence or lame comedies, then there really isn't much out there. Looking forward to the new ENDEAVOUR.

I put something in the oven and forgot to set a timer. So I'll be flying by the seat of my pants.

Yes, DR Jeanne - I, too am searching for a watch-worthy new series.

Starting the Whitney Houston biopic. I didn’t understand the casting but Stanley Tucci is actually good as Clive Davis.
-
I began watching season four episodes of Perry Mason. They're fun and the casts are always fascinating - in episode one from 1960, some newcomer named Robert Redford. In episode thirteen from that season, some newcomer named James Coburn plus the added fun of Muse Margaret's always-working daddy, Dave Willock.
-
I haven't found any movies that interest me.
-
I mean Tucci is always good. I just didn’t think he was Clive Davis.
-
I mean Tucci is always good. I just didn’t think he was Clive Davis.
But Val Kilmer is still Moses.
-
And it's past my bedtime.

But Val Kilmer is still Moses.
That goes without saying.
-
But it's been a blast.
-
A palpable blast.
-
Maybe I should unearth that DVD before Passover.
-
I still wish I had some fries.
-
Some people in the lower 48 states are seeing the Aurora.
-
I will not be one of them, for I will be asleep.
-
Beddie bye.
-
Perchance, to dream.
-
Slumberland.
-
You snooze, you lose.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Congrats to DR JANE on her millstone.
-
I liked the haiku and the explanation of conspiracies.
-
We are at half time in the Princeton - Creighton game.
Yes DR TCB the finale of Gonzaga's game last night was terrific.
And I enjoyed seeing Alabama be beaten by Florida Atlantic.
-
This biopic is as much of a cliched slog as Night and Day or Words and Music.
-
There are some nice touches. The drugs and booze are as casual and accepted as the air they breathe. Her bisexuality isn’t glossed over. But it’s all so even-keeled that there are no surprises.
-
I’m surprised though that some songs are excerpted, like the Star-Spangled Banner, yet the entirety of Home of The Wiz is presented. And that is electrifying.
-
I’m now st a Catholic church near the office that has a weekly Lenten fish fry. The plate comes with fries and slaw.
Do they serve Lutherans?
No, only fish and fries.
:D
-
I have missed you Tom!!
-
Congratulations on your milestone, Jane.
-
Can we get off this page?
-
In one …
-
Eleven!
-
I'm surprised we got off page 10. We got there by six CA time. And normally that's it because everyone disappears, including, lately, the late-night denizens. But, tonight was at least different and we got to eleven at 9:30. And one hour later? One additional posting, this one.
-
Will George appear?
-
Remains to be seen.
-
I was still hungry - had two tuna sandwiches at three o'clock, so I made a small grilled cheese sandwich and that wasn't too terrible.
-
Finished with my viewing - an Indie film from 2014 and one horrid little movie completely misrepresented on Amazon as something it's not.
-
I know they're trying to hook viewers, but when a ninety-minute film is not the thriller promised and moves at a pace that might lead you to believe it was three hours, well, more in the notes.
-
This amended version of Michelangelo's David has been approved by the state of Florida.

I am now going to ketchup on the posts.

Oh, and my copy of the original London I Do! I Do! has arrived! :)

Florida Teacher: Rosa Parks was ordered to sit in the back of the bus.
Student: Why?
Teacher: We're not allowed to tell you. But that act of defiance led to a movement for equal rights.
Student: Rights for whom?
Teacher: We're not allowed to tell you.
The next generation will know nothing.
F*ckers. >:(

Every time I tried to post, I got switched over to Hayley Mills and Richard Sherman singing "Let's Get Together"
:o Good thing things got fixed!
-
An explosion at a chocolate factory in Pennsylvania this evening!
Assuming that this isn't a joke...Oh, no! :-\

Will George appear?
Yes, he will...and has!
-
Tonight, I won one of the games of Phase 10!
-
Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. (ugg), I have my second music rehearsal for Sunday in the Park with George. :)
-
So a few days ago, my new car that's only nine months old started flashing warning lights on the dashboard indicating that the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology (https://www.subaru.com/eyesight.html) was turned off (and not by me!), and also the Subaru AT Oil Temp Light was flashing (https://www.ijpautomotive.co.uk/subaru-at-oil-temp-light-flashing/)!
-
This happened last week, but I didn't think about it after parking for the night and the lights didn't come on again the next morning.
-
So, I was able to schedule an appointment (and it had better not cost me anything!) through the car's display panel!
-
However, the appointment isn't until April 14th...three weeks from today! :o
-
Hopefully, there won't be any problems until then.
-
Has the London I Do come out on CD??? I have the LP of it, of course.
-
We still seem to be on page eleven.
-
But I feel a twelve nearby.
-
Could that even be possibly possible?
-
Dare we dream?
-
We dreamers always dare to dream.
-
Has the London I Do come out on CD??? I have the LP of it, of course.
Yes, from Stage Door Records (http://www.stagedoorrecords.com/stage9097.html).
-
And?
-
PAGE TWELVE LONDON I DO! I DO! CAST RECORDING DANCE!!
-
Here we go.
-
Twelve.
-
Stage Door put out a 1966 London album? I hope they licensed it properly from BMG/Sony because only pre-1964 is out of copyright unless something has changed. Has something changed?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
