Well, you've read the notes, the notes were deep and filled with metaphor, and now it is time for you to post until the metaphorical cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EUPHORIA!
-
Welcome 189 GUESTS!
-
Topic of the Day:
Columbo
Ellery Queen
The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries
Perry Mason (in repeats)
The Snoop Sisters
-
Notes adjudicated. Compartmentalized.
-
I still recall watching Death By Natural Causes in its initial network airing. The multiple twists blew my childhood mind.
-
Ellery Queen was great.
Any Quinn Martin Productions.
Cannon
Barnaby Jones
Later, Diagnosis Murder
-
Good morning, all!
-
I now wait for Amazon Fresh to deliver. I like their tracking system. At the moment, I am six stops away.
-
Like DR JohnG, I spent most of the afternoon and evening on MSNBC. I think Joy Reid, Nicole Wallace, and Ari Melber are my favorite newscasters, but it's a channel/networ hang onto.
-
I could be very happy knowing Trump was out of the way for the next 20 years. I'd be even happier knowing the Marjorie Toilet Greene, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz, Jim Jordan and a few more of the MAGA moron group were locked up for 20 years as well.
-
I am now four stops away, so Amazon Fresh is averaging a stop every 6-7 minutes.
-
DR John G, was your copy of The Count of Monte Cristo the Robin Buss translation from Penguin Books? I think that and The Three Musketeers are two of my all-time favorite novels. When I first read it in summer 1973, I was amazed how adult it was for something I was told in junior high school was a "boy's book."
-
Today it might be a banned book.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I can't find Bluesette - the album - on iTunes. There is the self-titled Toots Thielemans, which has the song 'Bluesette' on it.
-
Ah - found it on YouTube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ivdn-ezWhq0
-
I heard it on the grapevine.
-
I caught it on the caboose.
-
I found it in the fountain.
-
I saw it in the sandbox.
-
I audited it in the auditorium.
-
I lauded it in the laundry.
-
I seized it in the solarium.
-
I digested it in the dining room.
-
I pounced on it in the pantry.
-
I digitized it in the dairy.
-
I cottoned to it in the crematorium.
-
I bronzed it in the beanery.
-
I ordained it in the office.
-
I coronated it in the corner..
-
TWO.
-
Enough of this silliness.
-
Enough of this frivolity.
-
Enough of this hamstrung hijinks.
-
Let's get some real posting going on!
-
On this fine Saturday morning.
-
In the wilds of June.
-
June, June, June.
-
Just because it's June.
-
It may very well be very warm for May.
-
But what about June?
-
Never fear... Bernie is guarding the evidence!
-
I am out of bed.
I am drinking my first cup of coffee.
I have blueberry muffins awaiting me when I get the urge.
I'm doing it all, and I'm here.
-
Meanwhile, "2 Guests" are amusing themselves, likely at my expense.
I don't care.
I have my coffee, you see.
-
I have a question for DR George:
You live in Tumwater.
My barber, who lives and works in nearby Edgefield, is from Tumwater.
Brian, my barber, said he and his wife moved from Tumwater four years ago because the state was going to the dogs with excesses of drug usage being permitted by law, and by homeless camps being set up in places that used to be pristine.
He can rant a major rant about your state and how the left-wing politicians have ruined it for every decent citizen.
His sister's family moved to Edgefield a year ago...also from Tumwater. They both want to move their parents here, too. But their parents aren't willing to leave their home as of yet.
I would love to get a more objective opinion of the situation from a resident not so -- allow me to say it -- indoctrinated by right-wing extremism.
-
I see that "1 Guest" now remains. The other, attaining satisfaction or out of total disinterest, has gone.

Everyone locally with whom I converse (or, put simply, talk) seems to believe California is a haven for drug users, tree huggers and brazen perverts.
And while everyone in California enjoys a street parade or two, on occasion, I am at a loss as to why this opinion exists.
There are folks here who have visited there and who have lived there. Each, to a person, was a Republican, it seems. They loved being there when Reagan was president and when Arnold was governor.
Having experienced both -- plus Pete Wilson, Gray Davis, Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom -- I can say there wasn't too much difference in the living conditions within the state under any of them. It was Wilson who shut down all of the state's power plants and opted to buy power from other states. Gray Davis was the guy who got the short end of the stick. California was buying its power from "red" states....and once Davis got into office, those states jacked up their fees for said power. Davis tried to absorb the increased costs with state monetary surplus but came up short when it was made public. Arnold then stole the governorship, IMO, with the help of the GOP. Arnold was not a good governor. He alienated law enforcement and teachers from the start by attempting to drastically cut their pension plans. He did not succeed. The state hobbled along during that tenure. When Jerry Brown got elected again, things changed. By the time he was finished, he had restored California's budget surplus and made the state the 7th strongest economy in the world. Gavin Newsom (whose first wife is now the "girl friend" of Donald Trump JUNIOR) has faced some major issues during his terms, including being the first governor in the country to shut his state down during the early days of pandemic. Newsom is a survivor, however. He was a great mayor for San Francisco, and he may prove to be one of California's best governors.
I guess i have had all that on my mind for some time. It's hardly a civics lesson, to be sure, because I have (and own) my political biases.
But people here can hold some very weird ideas that aren't based in truth. Just doing an exercise in cobweb removal.
-
Aw, shucks!
While I was opining in my previous post, DR scrimshaw was posting his pricing guidelines. What a giggle.
And now there are again "2 Guests". Satisfaction seemingly doesn't last.
-
I do not know what Jerry Brown is doing these days, but he was a terrific mayor for Oakland before he ran for governor.
-
What are the chances we will make it to page 3 before DR slugjaw returns?
-
I have a chance, I guess, of starting it.
-
Page 3
And now there are "3 Guests".
-
When I got up, about an hour ago it was 58 degrees outside.
As the day has progressed, we are at a dazzlingly generous 62 degrees. The sun is shining brightly; the reflection off the pond behind my house is a mirror image of the opposite shoreline.
We should get into the lower 80s today, and lows tonight will again dip into the 50s. I love cool nights during the summer months.
Of course, it isn't summer for 11 more days. I guess this summer will be quite hot everywhere.
-
Hello, Rodzinski.
-
I now have my second cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I live in Washington albeit in an isolated adjunct part, but I have heard all you’ve heard from the same sorts of people, Ron. The speeches are so similar one can easily believe them to be the parroting of talking points learned from non-stop viewing of a particular propaganda. Older republicans fleeing Seattle and California and Portland which have become literal hells on earth. Crime out of control, drugs out of control, homeless sleeping in your yard, etc. Such is the burden of states that make an attempt to have programs for the unfortunate. Since other places make no such attempt, people go to where they might get help. An influx leads to an imbalance, sure, and a strain on resources and enforcement, sure. But it’s a lot of scaremongering and overblown by a hearty magnitude. You lived around Oakland. It’s always been a place far worse in people’s minds than in day-to-day reality. Wilmington, DE where I lived. “Murdertown” they call it. Not downplaying that there are rough areas, but it’s true anywhere. It’s easier to buy into fear, blame, flee than deal with the root causes of problems.
-
Is this really the day? At last?
BREAK LEGS VIBES for BK & Co. for a superb Richard Sherman celebration!
-
Amen to all that, Rodzinski.
Here in Johnston, the only channel anyone seems to watch is Fox News. Absolutely revolting. Their brains are being eaten away with that hate-mongering.
Yet, they remain quite civil when the subject isn't politics. I get quite amused when I am around relatives. They will huddle up and talk low when I am around. They talk about the latest conspiracy theory or news flash they have heard. My mom informed them years ago that I was a proud Democrat and that I voted for "that" Obama person.
Funny item: When Obama won the first time, our capitol's newspaper, The State, ran a huge banner headline on page 1 -- HISTORY MADE -- with a color photo of the new first family under it.
A lot of subscriptions were cancelled that day. That included my aunt and uncle who lived across the street. Later on, however, subscriptions were reinstated because The State is one of three respected newspapers in SC.

Lawrence O'Donnell's show was quite good last night.
Among his guests, all of whom are legal experts in Constitutional law, was Professor Lawrence Tribe, professor emeritus at Harvard School of Law.
I have seen Tribe on that show many times over the past years, but last night, he seemed to be a bit more weathered than ever before. He spoke haltingly, but precisely, and was still quite erudite and cogent.
O'Donnell, after Tribe's comments, asked him how he would grade Jack Smith's performance as a special prosecutor based upon the indictment document and Smith's brief press performance yesterday.
Tribe said that one of the perks of being an "emeritus" was that he no longer had to grade anything...but he said he believed Smith has performed superbly.
-
Sunny here this morning, but threatened thunderstorms this afternoon.
-
But I'll probably settle for my usual. Gruel Oatmeal.
I have five more blueberry muffins. The one I ate was delicious. Would love to share with you.
-
I like Tribe. I wonder what's happened to Dershowitz in the head?
-
Would love to share with you.
Awww! I'd love to sit on your porch and share a muffin.
-
We could shoot the breeze.

We could lament the days gone by.
-
We could sip sweet tea and blather on.
-
About everything and nothing.
-
One more.
-
FOUR.
-
Four score.
-
Forthwith.
-
Forthright.
-
On O'Donnell's show, Neal Katyal was asked for his reaction to the 49-page indictment.
Katyal stated that he had never read any indictment more damning than this one. He said most indictments do not have enough specifics to give you a clue how the prosecution would go if a trial results. This document, he said, is so revealing that it probably will end up in a trial.
-
I give up. Talk with y'all later.
-
Good morning

Glad to be of service, DR vixmom.

Break legs vibes for MR BK & Co in the Richard Sherman Celebration Kritzerland Spectacular this evening:
Brought to you In Color by the Edsel Division of the Ford Motor Company.
-
Every time MR BK writes about Toots Thielmans I think about TALKING WITH.... the play of monologs for women and one of its characters named Tits Tillson.....
-
Tonight I am going to see GREASE with two of my sisters.
Facebook is all agog at the show with pictures, pictures, pictures of the theatre and the cast after the show and this and that much like the High School Show it is....a C- high school production.
I am thinking that most of those folks just want to show their neighbors that THEY got tickets and YOU didn't hahahahahahaha!

But it is good publicity for the theatre.

Indiana wasn’t conservative enough (!) for my sister and her husband so they moved to Tennessee. My poor mom, who came over from the dark side later in life is stuck living with them and their non-stop raging Fox.

It has been raining since yesterday. This is a good thing.

And Indiana is bad enough!
-
Two of my sisters have said NYET to GREASE tonight.....so there you are.
I really wouldn't go, but some of the kids in the show are really nice and deserve some support. Kids who listen when others speak or ask questions of folks who have done theatre.
So....for them. I probably will have an okay time.....but this time next week it will almost be over!

I am now four stops away, so Amazon Fresh is averaging a stop every 6-7 minutes.
I wonder if they do this in Canada.

I do quordle everyday (it's wordle but with 4 words). But I'm obsessed with quordle sequence. You have to get the first word before you can start on the second. It's my favorite word game.

DR Ron, I enjoyed reading your posts this morning.
I thoroughly enjoyed writing them. They were cathartic.
-
DR Rodzinski: I commiserate with your mother. The land of Quayle and Pence was no picnic, but it was not a bad place to live.
Tennessee is the home of Al Gore, who could not carry his state in 2000. And the right-wing movement there is a return to a post-McCarthy 1950s.
-
DR Jane: Brian showed me photos of his favorite places in and around Tumwater where, he said, he used to enjoy walking and playing as a kid. Now there is garbage and homeless sheds, etc. He said the county government refuses to do anything about it.
-
One thing I have always found true: Right-wing extremists over-dramatize their grievances.
-
Also, left-wing extremists tick me off.
-
I am a middle-of-the-road kind of guy...just left of center, as it turns out.

I'm up, I'm up - almost nine hours of sleep.

Glad the Toots album was found - give it a listen.

I miss TCB! I would love to talk about this with him.
There was a cat, Jenny, who was the Titanic’s cat. She had her kittens onboard in Belfast. When they got to the stop that was to head to New York, she took her kittens off the boat and did not go back on. You can read about her below...or by googling cat on Titanic.

Well, I don't usually pay attention to a lot, but I don't really know about or have seen any rampant drug use, other than pot, but that hasn't really been "rampant"...in public, at least.
-
And while there do seem to be more homeless camps in places that can be seen, I think the local law/politicians are trying to either help them as best they can, or move them to places that are more...out of the way. ::)
-
It's definitely become more prevalent over the years, but I can't imagine feeling that it's so bad that that would be the main reason for me to move to another country.

Just my 2¢.

What a coikydink!!
It sure was :)

Show vibes for BK and company!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Ron, I enjoyed reading your political take. I’ve wondered at times what it must be like for you living in a deep red state since your views are clearly on the left. But it sounds like it really isn’t a problem.
-
You also were living in California while I was on the East Coast and not keeping up too much with California politics.
-
I’ve always liked Jerry Brown, as much as anything because he was his own person. Governor Moonbeam? He turned the state round financially. I don’t think many people could have done that.
-
I follow the work of Emmett Miller, MD. Dr Miller, who I’ve mentioned here before, had a traditional medical practice, but found that his patients would get better, but didn’t stay better. He then changed his practice to one which included meditation and guided imagery, and found more lasting outcomes. For the past few years he’s been doing webinars centered around the Old Paradigm, in which people react emotionally, using their “ monkey brain”, vs the New Paradigm, where critical thinking and rationality are paramount.

Not as long as I don't talk about my views.
There ARE a few folks around who feel as I do. We call one another on occasion to vent.
-
The sun is setting here right now. Dusk is settling in. I find it unbelievable that we are now on the 10th of June and only 11 days away from Summer.
Where as this year gone?
-
I’ve found these webinars quite fascinating. He describes the different parts of the human brain, where different types of thinking takes place. The monkey brain is pure emotion, no critical thinking whatsoever. He also takes about how fear is the driver behind so much advertising, because when we feel fearful the monkey brain takes over, critical thinking stops, and people become very vulnerable to both sales pitches and political pitches.

I am glad you know a few people to vent with.

He did indeed. He was a great Mayor in Oakland for six years (at least). The city was so much better with him as Mayor than it was before. Same happened when he was elected governor (again).

Well, there is always here where I do a little, as well. I won't make a habit of it, because you'd get really over it very fast.

It's interesting. Yet, I've never really thought of monkeys as being emotional. The fling poo, I know. I guess that's hostile emotion.
-
Dr Miller’s talks make so much sense in the present political climate. Fear sells, whether the product is a widget or a political viewpoint.
If you are interested, visit www.drmiller.com and go to the webinar section. They are free.

I am not averse to the idea that we represent an evolved version of apes. I am not averse to the possibility that our DNA was altered to make us more human. Who did this? Don't know, but Assyrian myth says it was done by the lords from the sky. So...
-
Sue me. I love to watch "Ancient Aliens".
So there. I've said it.
I am also fascinated/entrenched in "The Secret of Skywalker Ranch".

Well, there are quite a few humans flinging poo these days, too. The tear-your-opponent-apart style.
-
ROTFLMAO
-
Yes, we live in a poo-flinging society all right!

Taking a break now.

Makes sense.
-
The “monkey brain” is the part of the human brain that cannot think critically. It’s an immediate, spontaneous response.
Look at how much of what comes from the far right is fear-based. It’s playing to the monkey brain — fear, not facts.
-
I can't recall what class I had in high school that talked about what advertisers do to entice us, and critical thinking to avoid being entice. Not that is was called critical thinking back then. It always stayed with me.
-
Yes, Jane, we’re all being manipulated daily.
-
But we all know that the advertisers have something to sell. I’m not sure that people always see how much politicians are selling.
-
My father was a Pat Brown supporter. I am not sure how pleased he was the first time Jerry was governor. I always liked Jerry, and was thrilled Regan was gone.
-
Regarding the Trump indictment, I’m very glad to see it, but weary and burnt out because it’s taken so long and we’ve all had to endure so much to get here. But it had to be done.
-
Gov Pat Brown was very popular.
-
And we can't let the next president pardon him, if he is found guilty.
-
I suspect that over the coming weeks more poo will hit the fan as more details come out. It appears that things were even worse than we (I) thought.
-
And we can't let the next president pardon him, if he is found guilty.
Agreed.

Vibes to all for all things.
TTFN.

Gov Pat Brown was very popular.
I think more so the second time.

It does seem that way.

-
Being lazy again today. And liking it.
-
As you should, DR John G.
-
But being lazy is no excuse for not eating ice cream.
-
Just so you know.
-
Wish I could be "in the house" for the Sherman tribute.
-
I hear Guy Haines might sing.
-
Fading fast.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Now my sinuses have calmed down my right eye is being stupid
-
My body is being really annoying
-
Oooh I’m coming up on a fancy number
-
Now if I can just think of something fancy to write
-
I did visit WFO today and I witnessed him walking with his walker.
-
It was the first time I’ve seen him on his feet since October
-
It gave me great joy
-
I am having trouble rejoicing the indictment
-
The slippery slime has escaped consequences for his actions so many times
-
A conviction, however, would bring me great satisfaction.
-
Now I must think of something more cheerful to post
-
Hoping everyone is enjoying a fine evening
-
Hoping you all have peaceful sleeps
-
May you all wake in the morning,, well rested, happy and healthy
-
And may you all have a joy filled tomorrow.

Vixmom: I've captured your special number, but here we go again with the system not allowing the upload.
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information.
Wrong on both counts. It's a 120 KB jpg. I shall have to consult my server administrator for more information.
In the meantime, rest assured it's saved for posterity.

Oooh I’m coming up on a fancy number
Uh oh. Is something burning? And is that a red glow in the sky?
-
DR VIXMOM! Nice number. Tell Pat Robertson I said hello.
-
Well it is what it is.
So hopefully we'll get through the next week and then it will be what it was.
-
I wonder how the show is going?
-
Page Nine.
Of course I am hoping for a big write in vote rally for the Tony Award tomorrow night.
Please send yours in if you haven't already.
-
Test.

I shrank a photo. It’s telling me it’s too big.
-

I quite agree, but consider that this indictment is ONLY about the documents scandal which hasn't been known about by us all that long. They are still working through the tons of material they have for the January 6th act of sedition and sorting out who was involved and who wasn't.
And there is also Georgia, where another federal law was broken by DLT.
Trump is truly the epitome of non-stop human diarrhea.
-
I shrank a photo. It’s telling me it’s too big.
That reminds me of something funny I heard in the news many years ago when i lived in the Bay Area of California.
The Virginia Slims Tennis Tournament was being played at some venue in The City (San Francisco). Martina Navratilova was playing someone and one of her shots was called "out" by the referee. Martina said it looked like it was legitimately on the line to her.
The referee told her it was "out by eight inches".
Martina muttered, "Men have been telling women it's 8 inches since the beginning of time."
-
Ha.
-
I have started watching "Tar" on cable.
It's completely not what I was expecting That was a pleasant surprise.
Haven't gotten to the halfway mark yet. It got late, and I began yawning.
-
I can't believe I am up this late.
I don't remember having a nap, but the say has been full of stuff I wanted to get done.
So here I sit, typing away, and not feeling too awfully tired yet.
It's a puzzlement.
-
I'll say good night now.
I usually surf a bit and watch stuff on YouTube.

Dammit! I just tried and it didn't work for me, either. :P
-
Well, I'm back from the SitPwG cast party!
-
A VERY good time was had by all...who were there!
-
A couple of people had other engagements...and literally!
-
The actress playing Celeste I (one) and her girlfriend got engaged last night, so they were out celebrating with their close friends and family!
-
We all gathered close together and sent them a short video congratulating them. :)
-
George, try posting a photo. I don’t think that function is, well, functioning.
-
The PBS channel is running a nice Hawaiian concert. But it’s pledge time, so it’s five minutes of music and 15 minutes of pledge drive. It’s just like MSNBC.
-
Saw a rainbow tonight. First one since we arrived.
-
I had gone out to look at ne’ne’, which are the state bird.
-
I didn’t get to see them, as it started raining fairly hard.
-
So, I came back to the unit.
-
Uno mas.
-
10!

Ginny, do you have these yet:

Gratuitous post 275!

I did try it on my phone, but I just now attempted to upload a picture on my Windows 10 computer, and it also didn't work. WTH?? :-\
-
Saw a rainbow tonight. First one since we arrived.
Nice!
-
So, the really good news is that we got a private YouTube link for the show that I was just in! PM me for it!
-
Back from what I would call the Kritzerland Show of Shows. More in the notes.

Can't wait to read about it...as usual!

How did I not know about this??
Mission Nonprofit - Theater Artists Olympia (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvMe-sCzSf0) (YouTube link)
Theater Artists Olympia is a local theatrical production company that has been performing shows in the area for 20 years. They are the owners of Oly Theater, a black box theater at the mall that hosts multiple performing companies.
-
Oh, that’s the theater that performed The Brain From Planet X in 2010, right?

Yes, and I was in that production!

You must have had such a great time!
It was! AND both BK and David Wechter came up to see it!
-
Not sure I can stay awake much longer, as it’s 3:30AM.
Waiting for the new notes and details about tonight’s show.
Will wait a little while longer.
-
Oh, I remember when BK and David Wechter came up to see it!
Was there a nice HHW reunion in the PNW?

Oh, that sounds really lovely.
I wish I could have been there.

Can’t keep my eyes open.
Will read the notes tomorrow.
Good night, George.
