Title: I'M GETTING EXISTENTIAL OVER YOU

Well, you've read the notes, you're feeling quite existential, and now it is time for you to post until the existential cows come home.

And the word of the day is: EXIGUOUS!

Certainly the late-night posting was EXIGUOUS, baby, EXIGUOUS.

"Amelie" and "The Baker's Wife" are the only two French movies that I've seen that I can think of right now, at almost 1:30 in the a.m.  Maybe others yet to be mentioned will trigger some memories. ;)

Wait...I've seen "The City of Lost Children."  That was a weird movie, though.  Visually stunning, but I wasn't paying as much attention as one should when watching a movie with subtitles. ::)

Is it getting warm(or hot) in Australia, instead of the Northern hemisphere is getting cool?

That is wonderful.  I am looking forward to seeingmany lovel pictures and hearing many lovely tales~

I very much look forward to seeing dear BK and, hopefully, DR CP and other concerned people in LA.  :D

And laters...

DR CP asked;

When you have a garlic, try to have a cup of Japanese green tea after the meal or before you go to bed and the odor would disappear magically from you in the next morning.  Yes, it WORKS!

Goodnight Hisaka.  I think I had logged off well before you appeared.  Yes it is indeed becoming warm.

Hello DR Ben.
Title: Re:I'M GETTING EXISTENTIAL OVER YOU
Post by: Ben on September 26, 2005, 04:49:00 AM
I'm here, I'm here. I never got back on after Saturday afternoon so I had to catch up.

I have to look at the Questionnaire and return it to Jose.

I did, indeed, go to the Flea Market yesterday. It was fine. Nothing special. I go more to see friends than anything else. I always get to see three or four people that I rarely see during the year. I bought a couple of things like an autographed CD of Miss Florence Henderson doing songs from some the Broadway shows in which she appeared (South Pacific, The Girl Who Came to Supper and others). I also got CD samplers for All Shook Up (on the day it closed, how disappointing) and Never Gonna Dance. It's as close as that show ever got to a full cast recording. I enjoyed it but it received tepid reviews at best and didn't last very long.

I had nice chats with long lost friends and then I returned to the home environment. I did some grocery shopping and then we had a visit with another friend who lives on Long Island. We go to his place frequently when we venture out to LI but he has never been to our little abode. He came yesterday after a concert at Lincoln Center. We had a wonderful visit and then he took us out to dinner at Elmo, a trendy (but actually nice) place on Seventh Avenue between 19th and 20th. I shy away from trendy places because they usually don't live up to the hype, but Elmo has been open long enough to live down the hype. The place was not crowded. The food was good and the wait staff was funny and just attentive enough.

We're seeing the staged reading of Silk Stockings tonight. We have a friend in the cast. It's not selling well (at $40 a ticket I can see why) so we have comps.

I know that Danise arrives on Saturday, October 1st and I think Mr. Barnum makes his first appearance in New York on that fabled day as well. I, unfortunately (or not actually), am busy all day. I have to work until about 2pm. At 5:30 we're having dinner with another dear old friend we haven't seen for about 2 years. After that, she's off to the theatre and we are off to see a friend's Drag Pageant. He's the host (and the only one not in drag). It's a fundraiser for a gay/lesbian AA group in NY. They have a big get together every Thanksgiving for those who don't have families or choose not to return to their families at that time. Five years ago they had a "pageant" to choose the first Miss Sobriety. It was such a success that it's been going on ever since. Very funny and very well done.

After that I am free to partake in many HHW activities. Right now I am about to sign off and attend to Mr. Simbulan's questionnaire.

Later, gaters.

P.S. At 7:50 I'm all alone here with (very long) Post Number Nine!

Topic of the day:

I'll echo Michael S's enthusiasm for The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob.  The ad campaign for that movie had been so wacky that I was ultimately dazzled by how much it had to say about prejudice through all the laughs.

I also liked Cousin Cousine quite a lot, much better than its American adaptation.

My favorite French films:

Ridicule
la fille sur le pont
le mari de la coiffeuse?
Monsieur Hire
Plein Soleil ( I don't like The Talented Mr. Ripley much )
Les Aventuriers
Deux Hommes Dans La Ville
Les Demoiselles de Rochefort
Belle de Jour
Indochine
Chaos ( I watched this film recently. The plot is twisted and powerful.)

Well, actually, it took me a lot of time to find the titles in French on IMDb, since I know only the titles in Japanese...

I have just noticed that I have seen very few French films. The only ones I can recall are ALPHAVILLE, and I was a mere child when I saw it, and one of the 1960s Hercules films which was an Italian and French co-production.

Oh! I read in the Times today that THE COLOR PURPLE is now known as "Oprah Winfrey Presents THE COLOR PURPLE." Ms. Winfrey is contributing $1 Million to produce the show. She will also be featuring cast members on her TV show to promote ticket sales. This will be Ms. Winfrey's first venture in theatrical producing.

LES DEMOISELLES DE ROCHEFORT

(I also have LOLA on my queue at Netflix)

JULES & JIM
A MAN AND A WOMAN
DAY FOR NIGHT
RETOUR DE MARTIN GUERRE (not fond of what was musicalized, though)
PREPAREZ VOS MOICHOIRS

C'est tout por maintennent. . .

In answer to bk's query about Angela Lansbury's first on-screen singing, no, two MGM films featured her actual voice and not a dubber: THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GREY where she sang "Goodbye, Little Yellow Bird" and TILL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY where she sang "How'd You Like to Spoon With Me?"

And it is clearly her voice in those songs because during the run of MURDER SHE WROTE, she reprised both of them in various episodes playing her cousin Emma McGill, and remarkably her voice sounded exactly the same as it had in the 1940s.

$1 million is pretty much chicken feed in producing a musical these days.

The sky is grey and overcast, the weather about 70 degrees
I think summer has really gone away.

This past Saturday the Vixter was playing in the pool, but I guess its time to close it for the season.

Yes, I knew Henry Winkler was on ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT in a recurring role. In fact, I saw him on it last Monday.

I still haven't decided if I'm going to give it another try tonight. I did not enjoy the frantic bouncing back and forth between stories and the slightly sour tone it has. Again, comedy is such an individual thing, and this one just kind of rubs me the wrong way.

As for Topic of the Day:

La Lectrice - The Lewis Carroll sequence is particularly enlightening to say the least.  And funny.
L'Accompagnatrice
Un Coeur En Hiver
Le Maître de Musique - Technically made in Belgium, but it's still a movie en français.
L'Auberge Espagnole - A French movie set in Barcelona.  Actually, it was co-produced by film companies in France and Spain.  Did DR elmore get to this before leaving for Ohio?
Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon) - We watched this at least once a year in grade school.  -And I still need to track down "The Revenge of the Red Balloon" that came out in 2000.
Amelie

Plus many others I know I'm forgetting right now...

Yes, Ms. Winfrey's $1 Million is only 1/10 of the total production. She's smart to not pay for the whole thing herself. I think it's great, though, that she can use her celebrity, money and history with the title to help sell Broadway to an audience who might not otherwise be interested in musical theatre. And for a show that is, other than its source material, completely original.

DR Jose, if that's the opening performance at the Palace, when does your contract start? How much time does the orchestra have with the cast before the first preview?

I believe I'll be starting two weeks before the first preview.  It will all depend upon how much futzing has to be done with the orchestra parts post-San Francisco.  There is also talk that we might head into the recording studio early on.

*If this means anything... They are already having some preliminary orchestra rehearsals for The Color Purple, er, I mean, Oprah Winfrey presents The Color Purple, and they don't start previews until November 1.  So...

Heck, the earlier my payroll starts...

I kept thinking that it was supposed to start mid-October too, but after running into one of the keyboard players on the A train the other night... and then checking the info on Playbill.com...  Somewhere along the line, the first date of previews shifted to November 1.

???

I'm wondering if they just decided to take a little bit more time after the workshop this summer.

Whitney Houston isn't producing THE COLOR PURPLE. She'd be better off producing a show like THE FIX instead.

THE COLOR PURPLE is being backed by Oprah Winfrey, who has a far more wholesome, intelligent image than cracked-out Whitney Houston-Brown.

Did anybody watch the Jennifer Love Hewitt show GHOST WHISPERER?  I know many here like MEDIUM.  I found the shows different in quite a few ways.  1. On MEDIUM she is solving crimes, where as in GW she is merely helping people.  2.  I find MEDIUM to be less in your face, she mostly sees things in her dreams.  But on GW she sees spirits all over the place (streets ...) and often it is not differentiated for us what is real.

I like Jennifer Love Hewitt and the first episode was engaging.  Curious what others might think.

***DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES SPOILERS***

I enjoyed the Housewives very much last night. I seriously doubt that Alfre Woodard is hiding Mary Alice's husband in her basement. She pronounced on some talk show that she and her son are actually part of the witness protection program, though that may be a red herring to throw everyone off. No matter - it adds interesting layers.

I also thought the business with the necktie was very funny. Marcia Cross is a wonderful actress.

I noticed for the first time last night that the guy who plays John - Gabby's boyfriend - has a huge tattoo on his upper back which they tried - semi-successfully - to cover with makeup. I could see the dark blue sort of coming through and they were VERY careful to shoot around it.

Did anyone else watch Grey's Anatomy? Again - another great show. ABC's really got a lot going for them right now. LOST and INVASION are doing very well mid-week, and Sunday night is practially dominated by ABC with HOME MAKEOVER, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and GREY'S ANATOMY all in a row. I love JORDAN'S CROSSING, but I always find myself watching GREY'S ANATOMY now. Oh, well...it's just TV. I won't lose any sleep if I miss something here and there.

I've never understood this sudden mania for decorative tattoo work, and I think an actor/actress is out of his/her mind for tarting up their work areas with body art that need to be successfully or unsuccessfully camouflaged by makeup.

DRJose, that questionaire is humongous!  We'll talk on Thursday.

RETOUR DE MARTIN GUERRE (not fond of what was musicalized, though)

I watched this!  I taped it off of TV several years ago when it was broadcast (on PBS I think) in its original aspect ratio...it's barely widescreen, but it's definitely not full frame.

I also enjoyed DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES very much.

DISCUSSION OF LAST NIGHT's SHOW:

Interesting that Mary Alice is still the narrator.  I was not sure if they would change that.

Also, who was that locked up at the end?  The husband?

COntinued discussion

I'm sure that's not Alfre's son living with her. Did you see how she was playing with his chest! No way! A lover or maybe HE's the husband, and we're being misdirected.

I thought about the white man being Paul Young, and I'll keep that door open until a few more clues are provided.

As I said last night, I think Marc Cherry has lived up to his incredible first season on the show keeping it lively, interesting, very funny, but also intriguing.

Of course, Rosie fronted the entire $10-14 million for TABOO, I believe.

$1 million is pretty much chicken feed in producing a musical these days.

So, is Oprah an actual hands-on working producer?  Will she really be involved with making decisions on what happens during the production...or is she just an investor??

One of the great things about DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES is that in addition to the continuing storylines we saw last night, we still have the stories from the gay neighbor Justin, Harriet Sansom Harris' character, Rogert Bart's George character, all of whom play into the story.

And the addition of Shirley Knight and the very handsome Richard Burgi becoming a regular as Teri Hatcher's ex-husband beginning an affair with Evie, well, the show can't help staying as good as the first season.

I saw Shirley Knight the other evening waiting outside a restaurant on 9th Avenue. I can only assume she was waiting for her daughter, Katilin Hopkins, who is currently starring the THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL.

Good morning, all!  I'm later than usual today because my father and I made the trek to my mother's grave.  We had a lovely visit, he cried, I said a prayer, and we left.  I'm now ensconced at the library for a couple of hours.

Yesterday was the big fish fry, which was a pleasant family gathering.  Lasf night, I stayed in and watched LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT and FINDING JORDAN.

This evening is my dinner with DRGinny and Richard.  Tomorrow, Miami University, Wednesday a fast run to CD Connection for used CDs and DVDs, laundry, and the Dayton airport.  I will stop in tomorrow morning before I go to Oxford.

TOD:
  AMELIE
  CARNIVAL IN FLANDERS
  THE BAKER'S WIFE
  CHILDREN OF PARADISE
  THE RETURN OF MARTIN GUERRE
  QUEEN MARGOT
  CYRANO DE BERGERAC
  POURQUOI PAS?
  DIABOLIQUE

have lovely visit with Ginny & Hubby

have you solved the mystery of the "What is it Fish?" yet?

My friend Alan Freeman told me last night that he found a fish in his yard, so he no longer believes I carried them to his neighborhood.  His supposition is that one of the tropical storms or tornadoes scooped up a bit of small fish and flung them high into the air from which they are now falling.  I still think it's an alien invasion.

Have we ever heard Oprah sing? Of course, they could always use a dubber. They used a dubber in the original film for Shug/Margaret Avery, so I guess they could for Oprah.

Good Afternoon!

And it really is a very good afternoon so far.  The mailman - or mailmistress as it were - brought me some goodies.  Well, one goody, but it was some goodie$.  -I have to say, when those corporate banks have a computer glitch, they really do work fast to make amends!  HOO and RAY!  So...

I need to head off to the post office to drop off some things, and then I need to see if I can drop into a Lenscrafters or some place like that to see if they can adjust my eyeglasses.  I've got them back into some semblance of their original shape, but they tend to drift down and to the right...  I can deal with it, but with three days of auditions coming up, I'd like to take care of this annoyance, minor as it may be.

There really isn't that much to tally.  The big question I was concerned about was about food allergies.  Just good to be aware just in case we happen to stop at a place where all the ingredients in a particular food may not be visible or listed.

Larry, I also am baffled by not only actors, but anyone marring their flesh with these huge unattractive tatoos.  There are a lot of twenty-somethings who when their forty-something are going to be embarrassed by tatoos sagging and heading south on their bods.  They'll always be a reminder to them of their stupidity.  I like flesh too much to see it pierced, painted, or implanted.  It just ain't natural.

Nice present Ginny.  I guess this is for both of us.  Keith wanted a new design and I wanted new cabinets.  We both wanted new counter tops & floors.  I really think it will be terrific when we are done.  If we are very, very luck that will happen before Christmas or by the end of the year.  I’m not keeping my hopes up even though we are very organized.  I think we have found a very nice and conscientious group of people to do the work.  So far we are right and they are even playing classical music. :)

As I mentioned earlier, I did go the the BCEFA Flea Market. I go to see friends, I don't go to buy much. I will buy a few things as a donation (I also spend time in December as a Volunteer) but so much of the stuff is so far out of my price range, and frankly, it's stuff I don't want. What am I going to do with a set piece from Wicked (or other similar things). I don't need autographed scripts or old Playbills from shows I never saw. This is NOT to belittle those who choose to buy these items, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE at my comments. It's just that I was in the business for a long time and even though I appreciate meeting stars and have a few autographs, buying most theatrical ephemera from shows in which I wasn't involved doesn't get my juices flowing. I would rather see a show and discuss it with friends instead of buying a used script. Also, the layout of the fair, IMHO, gets a little crowded and the older I get, the less I like crowds. It was very crowded from the time it opened (at 10am). I stayed for about 90 minutes, some of that time spent talking to friends. It's a very positive experience and I greatly appreciate all the work BCEFA does (the organization has helped many friends of mine over the years) so I don't want to make it sound unpleasant, it's just not a theatre highlight for me. I'm not a curmudgeon, even though the above post makes me sound like one  :D

LAW & ORDER: CI always raises itself a notch when arch criminal Nicole Wallace (Olivia D'Abo) is on the scene. She and Vincent D'Onofrio have a very visceral combustion between them that always makes the episodes where she appears quite memorable. Last night's was no exception.

Of course, I suspect the rest of the country was watching DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (so was I), but folks who didn't record it will enjoy it when the rerun comes around.

After seeing him in DRS, it was easy to see why he won (in addition to talent). He's SO adorable in his scheming. Exactly in the same way that Robert Morse got away with murder and retained the audience's sympathy in HOW TO SUCCEED.

Is her name really on the production that way?  If it's revived will it still be known that way? ...I can't wait to see what Rosie titles her next foray into directing, I mean writing, I mean producing.

I do think it is important to look at the reasons people have for marking themselves up, so to speak.  I have a pierced bellybutton- a high school graduation gift from a friend.  My motivation was to piss of my dad and I succeeded royally.  He saw it for the first time the day I left for college and his reaction kept me grinning for weeks.  It still serves as a happy reminder of my first step toward independence.

I also have some tattoos on my lower back- I got them on my 18th and 19th birthdays.  I picked an area that was fairly inconspicuous, I most people don't even know I have them.  It's special for me and whomever I chose to show them to.  You'd have to ask Rodzinski for how he feels about it.

I always find it fascinating to know the stories and meanings of people's tattoos and piercings.  As for the sagging and bagging, I just think of it as ongoing motivation to keep dragging my butt to the gym!

These kids today, I tell you...

I hate when they wear the low jeans with the short tops so you can see the tattoo just above their ASS.  That gives me GAS, and I think I'll PASS.

I make it a point never to wear low riding jeans with a midriff top, so this is not an issue for me.

DR Ben, I understand completely.

Since I'm being picked up at 4:55 AM (which means I'll have to get up at least an hour ahead) that is going to be a very long day for me.  I'm just hoping I make it through Chitty (What was I thinking?  Thank goodness it starts at  7!) then back to hotel for some rest.

I have a ticket for the wax museum and might go that afternoon if I get into town and my room isn't ready until three.  I might be able to catch a nap before the show if it is.

Good Evening!

Back from my date...

We ended up seeing "Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride"... Eh...  We both felt that the movie could have been trimmed down to 20-25 minutes.  It was OK, but just OK.

However... We saw the movie at the AMC 25 down on 42nd Street.  I had never been in that complex.  We were in Theatre 25.  Which happened to be on the sixth floor!!!  WOW!  I had no idea that complex was so big.  However, the views from the various terraces were/are pretty neat.

And on the way back down the escalators, we passed through the "Food Court From Hell" - a whole lot of closed up food counters and kiosks.  And there were even some flickering lights.  Kind of sad.  Kind of spooky.  Very ugly.  Ah, well...

After the movie, we headed over to a Thai place on Ninth Ave.  Good food.  Wonderful conversation.  We ended up sitting there for another hour and a half after we were done, just talking and trading backstage stories.  -He's a dresser for a Broadway show.

Then we walked back uptown to Columbus Circle... And we made plans to get together next Sunday night.

DR Jason - ARIADNE - YES!! YES!! YES!!  -Especially after reading the article in last Sunday's New York Times about the coloratura soprano playing Zerbinetta - she apparently has sung a high G and a high A-flat - ABOVE the high C!!!! - in public.  And done so quite beautifully too!.  So... ARIADNE... Yes..  And basically anything else.  LA BOHEME would be nice too.

DR Jason - While we were walking up Broadway earlier tonight, we stopped by the Broadway Theatre to look at the marquee for The Color Purple.  The marquee does not yet have Oprah Winfrey's name on it.  And we also noticed the smaller window card by the box office state that previews start October 25.  However, the bigger posters by the tv monitors (playing those interviews with Alice Walker, and other members of the creative team), state that previews start November 1.  I guess someone needs to get new window cards!

And as for Lestat...  I have to say that whoever Warner Brothers hired to do the PR for the show has really gotten the ball rolling.  As another DR mentioned earlier, we made CNN.  Additionally, there's an article in a recent edition of "The Advocate", and there was some "buzz" in midtown that the marquee could be going up sometime sooner than later on The Palace.

Yes, I do believe the option for Splash - The Musical is still floating around somewhere.  I even think there was a workshop of it last year or the year before in New York.

DR Ben - I'm surprised that BC/EFA has not moved the Flea Market to a larger area/space.  Yes, they now basically close off 44th and 45th, but, still, most of activity  takes place in Shubert Alley.  Heck, even one of the ballrooms at the nearby Marriott Marquis would be more spacious.

DR Ben, I do collect some playbills and programs, but only from shows that I have seen or that people I know wrote or were in.  I don't think you were being offensive at all.  I do have a lot of extra ones I have had to buy in a lot to get the one I wanted.  I'll eventually sell those on eBay. I'm hoping there are collectors out there who want them!

Yes, DR SWW.

What's really great about this number is that it's Donald O'Conner's "Big Number" in the show, but he has been in an auto accident and doesn't show up, so Ethel who has been rehearsing it with Mitzi Gaynor goes on (on opening night) and creates a sensation.  Good thing there was an extra costume and plenty of makeup.

Of course the finale of THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS is the BEST ever....considering they come out and sing the title song before it was ever written in a theatre that was torn down half a decade before.

DR CILLA LIZ there are collectors for EVERYTHING!!

My sister is an eBay seller. She goes to flea markets and picks up stuff for practically nothing then sells it.  I am amazed at some of the things that end up being in bidding wars.

Walty is considering getting a tattoo on his lower back.  It would say Pet Me Here.

Oh, my gosh but that made me laugh!

Very comfortable temperatures tonight.

Why do they keep advertising these television programs as comedies when they are NOT funny?

I was doing a little screaming and yelling myself this morning too!

-Now, I'm just waiting to hear from the contractor on the official first rehearsal date.  'Cause once I get that date, then I can figure out when and if I can take a small vacation after Damn Yankees and before Lestat begins.  ;)

Once again, of the three comedies I watched tonight, I much preferred OUT OF PRACTICE. A true ensemble piece done in front of a live audience, the lines have snap and real humor, and the cast is just aces.

I thought KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL started off fairly slow but by the halfway point, it was engaging and I ended up enjoying it OK.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was laughless for me tonight. A very decided disappointment.

Hmm...

Just checked the weather forecast for the next couple of days...

Tomorrow and Wednesday are supposed to be very nice - mid-70s, sunny and low humidity.  Some rain on Thursday, but Saturday is supposed to be "picture perfect".  71 degrees on October 1.  71 on October 1?!?!?

Alas, according to the current 10-day forecast, they're calling for rain next Wednesday...  But again, that's still ten days away, so...

What the forecast look for your part of the country, DR MattH?

;)

I saw the ratings for last night's shows. DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES went through the roof as expected (though last Thursday's CSI outrated it for the week), and GREY'S ANATOMY also did very, very well.

The Martha Stewart movie with Cybill Shepherd did not do very well for CBS. Added to the very disappointing ratings for Martha's APPRENTICE show last Wednesday on NBC, and I'd say that perhaps the networks have overestimated Martha's appeal.

Her talk show's first two weeks have done average ratings, not a disaster, but not a huge hit either.

High in the upper 80s tomorrow, lower 80s the rest of the week. Low tonight mid 60s but dropping to upper 50s (hooray!) on WEdnesday.

I may or may not go walking tomorrow morning. I have a fairly long list of things I need to go to Wal-Mart to buy, so I want to get there before HUGE crowds set in.

I DVRed MEDIUM and will watch it tomorrow at some point. I did catch the last half of ARRESTED DEVLOPMENT waiting for KITCHEN CONFIDENTIAL to come on. I will say Charlize Thearon looked very attractive (but why was she in a little Dutch girl outfit?) I still didn't laugh.

CSI is coming on in its regular Thursday 9 p.m. slot this week and a rerun is also coming on this Saturday at 9 p.m. on this week's CBS Crime Time.

I did watch CSI: MIAMI, and those underwater scenes on high definition film were simply stunning. The location shots of the skyline and oceanfronts always look spectacular in HD, but that underwater stuff tonight was really breathtaking.

'evening!  DR elmore has been here for a lovely visit - he brought the most beautiful bouquet of flowers.

We're now up to, what, 4 HHW gals at the Comfort Inn-Midtown?  I'm there Monday afternoon-Thursday afternoon.

It's cooled off nicely here and we've turned off the AC and opened the windows - good sleeping weather, which I think I'll be off to do.

'night!

I had der B tape it, and we watched it after he was finished with his own stack of shows.  I thought it was funny, had potential, but he already thinks it will just last six eps, total.

Meanwhile, he's already getting hooked on Prision Break.  Another of his "Happy" shows, if you ask me.

I will read the overnight ratings for Monday's shows with great interest. Folks sampled the shows last week, but this week's Monday ratings (and those of most other nights) are going to show some patterns emerging, and that will be interesting to study.

I watched NBC's Monday line-up and totally forgot about "How I Met Your Mother" and a couple of other shows.  Darn.  Oh well...there's always next week. ;)

I must now head off to bed.  I want to get to work early because my family's all getting together at my parents' house to celebrate my sister's birthday with them.  My parents were out gallivanting around the state in their RV and weren't able to go to dinner last night.  And since tomorrow (Tuesday) is my sister's actual birthday, it's appropriate that we do it then. :)

I also have to make sure that I get my VCRs set up everything that I want to tape tomorrow, since we'll be out late.  I just went to tvguide.com and printed out the new schedule, so I'll be prepared...this time. :P

Goodnight, all!
