And the word of the day is: PURSY!
Smoke on your pipe and put that in! And use it in a sentence without looking it up.
a nifty CD by singer/actor John Gabriel who I just saw tonight in HELL'S BLOODY DEVILS....he sort of looked a LOT like John Gavin. Nice voice. Nice face.
Mr. John Gabriel recorded "Keep Christmas with You" on A HOLLYWOOD CHRISTMAS, produced by our very own BK. A fine arrangement and a great song.
Well....what do you know....thanks, DR td!
I think I will have to look for it's cousin, A Hollywood Christmas.
I remember the the back-to-back World Series win of the Reds on TV and their wire-to-wire season win and four-game sweep of the Athletics in 1990...Sadly, the last time they played in a series.
Among his many notable credits, character actor Laurie Main includes the role of Sir PURSY in ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER.
On which album did The Manhattan Tranfer sing "Ding Dong Dell, PURSY'S in the Well?"
Hank Azaria is not in SPAMALOT; Alan Tudyk is a brilliant replacement.
Looking forward to s Shirley Temple (a movie, not a drink) later this afternoon. Not that the drink is anything to sneeze at. Found this info at another site:
This sweet, pink, non-alcoholic cocktail was invented in the late 1930's by the bartender at Chasen's Restaurant in Hollywood, for the curly-topped star
Chasen's Restaurant was the favourite for many Stars during seven decades of Hollywood history. This legendary restaurant began on 13th Dec 1936 as a Rib & Chilli Bar, but was transformed during the Golden Years when Hollywood stars turned Chasen's into a social scene, and later in the Reagan era when it became a common meeting place for the President and his supporters.
DR Jennifer, the business of voting for the preferred ending for that VERONICA MARS episode reminds me of the three endings offered for the movie CLUE.For another example of multiple endings, there's The Mystery of Edmund Drood, a fun show but, when it comes to the mystery, not a prime example of detection.
If a show (and I'm talking the movie CLUE here) can offer the same clues and come up with three totally different scenarios as a solution to the mystery it's generated, then the mystery wasn't tightly written or very good to begin with.
Now, I'll withold any further negativity until I actually SEE the episode, but that was my initial feeling when I saw the stuff about internet voting on the endings.
...Hi everyone. I’m just a bit overwhelmed with the kitchen right now...Pictures of the reconstruction requested.
...We saw Goblet of Fire on Thanksgiving and missed the crowds. We both felt it was the best one so far. Recalling the posts I grabbed a Kleenex on our way out the door. :)...Der B and I will be seeing the film a second time soon. Since the grandlads want to see it, we'll be making it a family event, probably with Mommy and Daddy along for the experience as well.
I'm watching Son of Kong.
my favourite Christmas albums are still those by "The Carpenters".
This afternoon we saw ZATHURA and were disappointed.
And of course Brian D'Arcy James is on his way to me now.
J.R.'s? Where is my royalty for using my initials? I hope it is an upstanding jernt.
There's a collection jar at the door. They're just waiting for you to pick it up in person.
;D
I am watching BRIDE AND PREJUDICE...very cute movie!
I am thinking about seeing WALK THE LINE this week as DR CILLALIZ. I like Joaquin Phoenix a lot.
Then, wanting to see something in color, I went to the to-watch shelf and selected a DVD that's been sitting there for over two years - THE SLIPPER AND THE ROSE.
I haven't seen this movie since it premiered in theaters in the 1970s, so this was a pleasant reunion for me.
No, the Sherman score isn't as memorable as MARY POPPINS (few original scores are), but it's OK, and Richard Chamberlain and Gemma Craven have lovely singing voices.
Jose: What is a day off? Never heard of it.
Never fear, dear TCB, I am here to post about the DVDs and TV shows I have watched tonight. It's a fair list of titles.
That is why Matt Bogart's name sounded familiar! Whilst perusing CDs on CDbaby.com I saw a CD by Matt Bogart. I listened to the clips and kept wondering where I had heard that name before. Now I know.
I did not buy the CD, but he does have a nice singing voice...among other things, evidently.

Angela Morley's arrangements are exquisite and the film itself is a visual beauty! And what a very different way of retelling the story of Cinderella!
Before the movie, that version was to be a stage vehicule for Twiggy and Tommy Tune in London, if memory serves me right, or something close to that!
Yes, Matt Bogart has many nice things. The "bumps" on his arms and chest are particularly nice.
;D
I'm sure I could scrounge up a CD for you if you'd like. Maybe even get it autographed for you.
:)
Thanks for the pics DR Jason! Gosh but I sure wish I had not passed up the zoo visit when I was there!
Those animals are beautiful! Particularly loved the seal.
I had a loverly dinner with Matt Bogart one night while he was doing 110 IN THE SHADE in DC.
Wow!
That Matt B. is quite something! He can dine with DR Jason AND do a show at the same time! ;) ;D
