Title: FREE AND UNFETTERED
Post by: bk on December 10, 2005, 12:11:26 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were free and yes, unfettered, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're neither free or unfettered.  Damn them, damn them all to hell.

Yesterday, der Grampa and I took the grandlads to see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  Long title for a good film.  The lads both enjoyed it.  So did der Grampa.  So did I.  William did have some problems at the start, as the children in the film were being sent to the countryside, which caused him some separation anxiety, but other than that they both rapidly were caught up in the film, Alex literally at the edge of his seat at times.

After, we met up with both Mommy and Daddy at a nearby restaurant.  William was definately getting tired (he's been on meds for a fever he was running, which can do that), and Alex still has real issues with food not being exactly what he thinks it should be (any variation and it's not good food).  But the parents were well-behaved at least, for once.

And I'm glad we had a very patient waitress, a necessity on nights like this.

Sorry to be E and T yesterday. I had some briefs due (they don't let me file boxers in court) and had to make a trek over to the prison to visit some clients.

I was thinking about the Christmas Card thing.  I'll admit I haven't sent any for a few years, I keep meaning to, but they just don't seem to get done, but to me sending Christmas Cards was more telling people I cared about them, was thinking about them and wished the best for them or that I hadn't bothered to touch base with them in a year so it was a way to say I was still alive.  My cards are usually of the humorous variety. Sometimes I do the h Happy Holidays, but that's usually when I like the card.

I'm not sure I'll get any sent this year, or maybe just to the people who send them to me.

Yes, DR Jrand, I understand some of your trepidation about the differences between the SUperboy of our youth and what we see on SMALLVILLE. But I see them as different entities and can enjoy each separately.

But then, the SUPERMAN TV show we grew up with veered somewhat from the Superman I knew, too. Superman hadn't adopted Jimmy as a best friend and thus no signal watch. Lois wasn't officially his girl friend. There was no Krypto and kryptonite in its many colors didn't exist, only green, and that was only in an episode or two.

I wasn't a die-hard fan of the show for many years because of all the teen angst between Clark, Lana, and Chloe. Now that this seems to be resolved, the shows are much more interesting to me.

Oh, and as for the LL affectation that seemed to permeate the SUPERMAN family, don't forget he fell in love with the mermaid Lori Lemaris. Supergirl's alias was Linda Lee. And there were other LL folks in his universe, too, but I don't remember the details now. It's been over 40 years ago!

I just read the VARIETY reviews for two of the seaso's most anticipated movies: THE PRODUCERS and MUNICH.

THE PRODUCERS was deemed extremely stagey but effectively hilarious. Reviewer said it had been brought to the screen with only minimal regard to cinematic flourish.

MUNICH was given a mixed-to-negative review being deemed ponderous and not very involving.

Last night FJL, embarked upon a frenzy of sorts, posted:

"I don't understand how Ron Pulliam manages to stretch things out when he's approaching a milestone without making a nuisance of himself."

First, I've never supposed I wasn't being a nuisance as I raced toward a milestone...but I do, on occasion, attempt to say something even if I'm spreading it out over 15 or 20 posts.  :D

Second, if I wasn't being a nuisance, then I owe it all to the fact that I am not French.

:D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Third, when I do it, I do it with the understanding that most folks won't be bothered about it at all, but I'm aware that some may be irritated by my doing it, but I take comfort in the fact that our illustrious host digs "numbers" (i.e. lots of posts each day).

Fourth, I very much appreciate the compliment.  And I doubt very seriously anyone will have found your similar posts a nuisance.

(Yes, François, I DO read your posts...)

I have to rush out now.  Erin will be waiting to cut my hair.  I have grocery items to purchase on the way home so that I can prepare for the office's Christmas ("Holiday") Pot Luck.

It's Monday at 11:30 a.m.  I am going.  I'm baking a walnut/pumpkin cheesecake...probably tonight.  I'm making two kinds of sweet potato souffle...one with yams and one with golden sweet potatoes.

And...I'm flirting with the notion of preparing two coconut custard pies.

And it's "just because" I'm a Christmas junkie and love to spread cheer.

So...Y'all get happy, dammit.  It's "the holidays"!

Peggy (full name: Peggy Cassandra Gooch) is still very much with us.  She's a good girl, although she doesn't kiss der B or myself - ever!  She loves to wrastle with Fletcher, to cuddle on occasion, and to get tummy pats.

We've had a couple of nibbles, people interested in adopting her who contact der B via the 'net, but then we don't hear from them again.

I made it to my haircut appointment on time, but my "cutter" arrived just after me, with a carload of goodies I helped her unload.  She then took the next 20 minutes setting things out, making Peet's Holiday Blend coffee and generally (and somewhat grudgingly) inviting patrons (she owns the shop and has 8 stylists, a manicurist, a skin care specialist and all their customers) to partake of holiday cheer.

She, herself, was not in the best of moods.  I changed that.  I heard her say she wasn't "feeling it" this year.  So, I got out of the chair, gave her a big HUGE hug and said "MERRY CHRISTMAS, ERIN" -- "CHEER UP, DAMMIT".

And she laughed and was quite merry the rest of my time there.

I had a very interesting morning at the market. Linda, my friend from New Orleans was there. (she came home to surprise her mother on her 80th birthday - she was surprised to find her mother had plans!)  I haven't seen her since Katrina (they say Pre-K in New Orleans). She's still there, living on a cruise ship and working at the library while the house she was renting is being fixed.  It's one of the old steamship houses.

Her stories were fascinating. It sounds like such an interesting time to be there - although she said there are still people living in tents and sleeping in the backs of trucks waiting for FEMA trailers to arrive.  Rebuilding a city. What a cool thing to be a part of.

I took my Mom to Vegas for her 75th birthday, and as we rode along I pointed out the beautiful sights, the pirate battle, the volcano , the dancing waters, and Mom's face suddenly brightens up and she motions with her head and goes "Mmm" - I asked, happy that Mom was fidning such joy in Vegas, "What are you looking at?"  She pointed and said "look, a McDonald's."

Another Mother-Son moment brought to you by McDonald's.

Fred, I had the same experience when my parents visited for the first time, Labor Day weekend 1989 or so.  we took the 104 down Broadway on a bus trip to Macy's and I pointed out Lincoln Center, Columbus Circle, etc.  My parents made no comments till my Mother said to my Father, "Look, Bill, a Roy Rogers!"  Thus began the weekend from hell.

Ooh, ooh--can I play?   ;D  Northwest version:  Driving over 2 hours in a rental car with your parents (both of whom chain smoke and refuse to let you roll down the windows) to the recently opened Mt. St. Helens visitor center, where, upon finally arriving, your father spends approximately a nanosecond videotaping the actual volcano and then spends the next hour (I kid you not) videotaping the "Disney animatronic" tourguide mannequin.   ::)

Jed I enjoyed our discussion last night.

During the holidays, awhile back, I visited my cousin on the Isle of Man and went to her grandchildren’s annual school Christmas pageant.  To me it was something I would expect at a church, not the public school, a full retelling of the three wise men and the birth of Christ.  ;D

I enjoyed the discussion last night as well. It is always good to know the varying thoughts of varying people on a subject such as this.

As for schools, it just seems to me, IMO (in my opinion, in internet speak), that if a school is going to celebrate the holiday of one religion then it should celebrate the holidays of all religions, or at the very least, of many various religions...but doing even that would ruffle the feathers of many people...which is too bad, as learning about different religions would be very educational for kids...but some parents would object to their children being shown anything other then their own religion.

I myself love to hear about different religions and the storys that are behind them. Watching the Bollywood movies has given me a lot of info on Hindu beliefs and stories which are a lot of fun.

I do indeed have wonderful memories of Christmas celebrations at school when I was a kid. But you know what, things change and I will bet that kids now will have wonderful memories of "Winter celebrations" or whatever they do at their school. Having schools celebrate Christmas is a foreign concept to them, just like rotary phones and people smoking in stores and restaurants, so they really aren't going to be missing anything. I have no doubt that whatever they do for the season will be fun for them.

By the way, some of my opinions on this subject are formed from when I attended school at Jewett Elementary School in Central Point. My teacher Mrs. DeArmond made us pray in the morning before class began. This was in 1975/76.

There was one girl in our class who had to stand out in the hallway during the prayer. The other kids were not kind to her. This was a public school...how my teacher got away with this is beyond me.

I don't have a clue who this little girl was. Evidently I was not friends with her as I don't even recall her name. But I have thought about her all of these years (she actually lived in my neighborhood, I think)

I’m tempted to play the family game but fear going there. ???  There were several dinners with my father and sister where I returned and left extra cash on the table for the poor wait person.  ::) And a story definitely not for posting on an open site, however if Billy Crystal and Albert Brooks could play out the scene at the hospital following my father’s passing they would have a hit comedy.

Initially I had a problem accepting the concept of the boys having a few minutes of silent prayer, or contemplation, before school began.  Then I realized it is a good compromise, no forced prayer but the option to do so if you want.

She's probably aware that today is your birthday as she sticks pins into a small doll.

Actually, I remember the furor over the late Madeleine Murray back in the 50s and 60s.  My mother hated her violently, but I in my early teens could see her point of view:  I always felt odd for my Jewish friends in grade school who had to sing holiday and other religious music.

However, I agree with DRJed about serious music:  Bach's passions, Handel's oratorios (a lot of which are Old Testament based), Britten's War Requiem and St Nicholas, Mozart's, Haydn's, and Schubert's masses are masterpieces.  The list goes on.  How can you teach music history or serious performance without them?
Title: Re:FREE AND UNFETTERED
Post by: elmore3003 on December 10, 2005, 01:34:57 PM
And since I was the last poster about 45 minutes ago, I'll continue with my thoughts on Christmas music:  carols have been the basis for serious composition and Lutheran tunes are the source for Bach's chorales; they're a rich foundation of Western music.  One sequence of Respighi's Botticelli Tryptich is based on "Veni Immanuel," there's a carol symphony by someone like Hamilton Harty, the "Dies Irae" shows up everywhere from SWEENEY TODD to Franz Liszt, Russian carols are in Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Overture.  I don't know how you can get through a serious musical education without confronting Christianity in all its pleasant and unpleasant aspects, any more than you can get through world history.

I like Christmas music, but I'm not fond of a lot of pop arrangements of traditional melodies.  Luckily, there are a lot of great holiday pop songs.

Mame:
Haul out the holly;
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again.
Fill up the stocking,
I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now.
For we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet.
Yes, we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute.
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
So climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.
Slice up the fruitcake;
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.
For I've grown a little leaner,
Grown a little colder,
Grown a little sadder,
Grown a little older,
All:
And I need a little angel
Sitting on my shoulder,
Need a little Christmas now.
Mame:
Haul out the holly;
Well, once I taught you all to live each living day.
All:
Fill up the stocking,
Young Patrick:
But Auntie Man, it's one week from Thanksgiving Day now.
All:
But we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet.
Yes, we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute.
Agnes:
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
Ito:
So climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.
All:
Slice up the fruitcake;
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.
For we need a little music,
Need a little laughter,
Need a little singing
Ringing through the rafter,
And we need a little snappy
"Happy ever after,"
Need a little Christmas now.
Need a little Christmas now.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful

But the fire is so delightful

And since we've no place to go

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signsof stopping

And I've bought some corn for popping

The lights are turned way down low

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kissgoodnight

How I'll hate going out in the storm!

But if you'll really hold me tight

All the way home I'll be warm

The fire is slowly dying

And, my dear, we're still goodbying

But as long as you love me so

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

In the still of the night
as I gaze out of my window
at the moon in its flight
My thoughts all stray to you

In the moon's yellow light
while the world is in slumber
Ah,the times without number
Darling, when I say to you

Do you love me as I love you
Are you my life to be
My dream come true
Or will this dream of mine
fade out of sight
While the Moon's growing dim
on the rim of the hill
in the chill still of the night

A friend called and wanted some help with a new computer. Then, when that was done, we went shopping at Target, Office Max, CompUSA, Batteries Plus. It was very much stop and shops and stop and shop all the way. Fun, but tiring.

At Target, the place was crowded and I dreaded the checkout line. Wouldn't you know? I walked right up to a register with no waiting despite the crowds. Amazing.

Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today, Madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.
She is sorry to be delayed,
But last evening down in Lover's Lane she strayed.
Madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.

When she woke up and found, that her dream of love was gone.
Madam.
She ran to the man who had lead her so far astray.
And from under a velvet gown,
She drew a gun and shot her lover down,
Madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.

When the mob came and got her and dragged her from the jail,
Madam,
They strung her from the old willow cross the way.
And the moment before she died,
She lifted up her lovely head and cried,
Madam.
Miss Otis regrets she's unable to lunch today.

Miss Otis regrets... she's unable to lunch today.

I love Judy Garland's rendition of "I Happen to Like New York."

Speaking of Judy, here's the original sad movie version of...

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away

Once again, as in olden days, happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who were dear to us, will be near to us once more

Through the years, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

The happy non-movie version:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
From now on our troubles will be miles away

Here we are, as in olden days, happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us, gather near to us once more

Through the years, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bow
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

DR JMK - I sent you an e-mail about this too...

As for the link you posted earlier...  There is also a companion "Prelude" published.  I believe Warner Bros. owns them now.  When I was working at the music store, we would keep copies of them behind the counter for "special"customers, and some music teachers would also give them out to their students from time to time.  I have to dig out some stuff from my storage unit on Monday, and I'll see if I can find my extra copies.

Oh, I really dig that song!

All Through The Night!

The day is my enemy, the night my friend,
For I'm always so alone
Till the day draws to an end.
But when the sun goes down
And the moon comes through,
To the monotone of the evening's drone
I'm all alone with you.

All through the night,
I delight in your love,
All through the night, you're so close to me.
All through the night, from a height far above,
You and your love brings me ecstasy.

When dawn comes to waken me
You're never there at all.
I know you've forsaken me,
Till the shadows fall.
But then once again

Speaking of Judy, here's the original sad movie version of...

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
Next year all our troubles will be miles away

Once again, as in olden days, happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who were dear to us, will be near to us once more

Through the years, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Until then, we'll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

The happy non-movie version:

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yuletide gay
From now on our troubles will be miles away

Here we are, as in olden days, happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us, gather near to us once more

Through the years, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bow
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

And what if i want a Merry BIG Christmas???

...and even more birthday wishes! I just love you guys...and it is a wonder I love anything right now, having just returned from various and sundry shopping expeditions...what was I thinking...it is a mad house out there...the only thing that kept me sane during the long, long traffic lines was the wonderful CD that JRand made for me. I think I have a new favorite singer in Michael Holliday!

Also reported in todays news that actress Jean Parker died at age 90. I knew she was ill, as my interviewee Edith Fellows had mentioned that Jean was also living at the Motion Picture Country Home and that the last few times Edith had gone to here room to visit Jean didn't recognize anyone.

I tried to drive about in my motor car, just to take some air, but the streets are alive with the sound of traffic - cars everywhere, and people driving insanely.  I came directly home and ate four tacos from Henry's Tacos.  Am watching King Kong.

A day of passings. Former Minnesota Senator Eugene McCarthy also passed away today. He ran for President (the first time) in 1968 as the anti-war candidate and by almost winning in the New Hampshire primary, he convinced Lyndon Johnson not to run for re-election. He also ran, IIRC, 3 other times, including 1976. I voted for him in 1976. He wasn't on the ballot in every state but he was in Minnesota. That, BTW, was the year Jimmy Carter won the Presidency.

We campaigned for him in 1968 and were at the rally during the election.  I wasn't too sad he lost and was very happy to support Kennedy (unbeknownst to me, Keith had come to the same conclusion).  It was a fantastic evening until I returned home and turned the TV on just in time to watch the assassination.

I am able to post a picture of me with the gift bags now instead of tomorrow.

Here I am with just a few of the 2,900 gift bags we are making this year. The bags I'm sitting amongst will be going to Saint Vincent's Hospital. There are 300 bags here (there are bags in back of Anthony also, he's taking the picture) with gifts for 110 men, 70 women and 120 children. The children either have HIV/AIDS or their parent or primary caregiver has it.

Waiting for the plumber to return with the showerhead.  I really didn't quite understand why he couldn't do it while he was here this morning, but they said he could come back at six.  Therefore, I gave up the screening of King Kong to be here. It's now ten after and I can't get anyone on the phone to find out what's going on.  If I have to wait until Monday I'm going to be very unhappy.

I so agree with you about presenting the views of all religions.  After the last election, there was a ton of news about this town in PA that had dumped the school board that had proposed teaching intelligent design alongside evolution. And then Pat Robertson had to say something about the wrath of god.  And then the ladies on The View had to discuss it (and I guess it serves me right for watching The View but I was at the gym and it was right in front of me and I'm not allowed to change the channel) Any way, the point of this rather long winded story was that the young one on the View said something to the effect of, "why can't they teach it, I would want my children to have choices about what to believe..." and felt like yelling back at the tv because, it's exactly that view that proves (IMO) why religion can't be taught in public schools.  Because it's not a "choice" if only one religion is represented, you would have to represent the views of all religions in order to truly provide children with a choice, and ensure that you are not alienating anyone.

Okay, climbing of my soapbox...end of rant.  :-X

I have been anything but unfetterd this weekend.

I am two weeks behind on getting packages out of the country for various overseas relatives....so I fear they will be Valentine's Day presents rather than Christmas presents! :P
 ::)
I am still working on writing out my Christamas cards

and I just finished shopping for  and wrapping up the dinner basket and toys we donate to the church this time of year (Pastor then sees that people who need 'em get 'em) :D

Not only is the tree not decorated...it is still in the garage!  :-\

Tomorrow morning we have church, then Sunday School, then I have to make a dessert for the Church Youth Group Christmas show... (and the Vixter has to be there by 4 for a "last ditch rehearsal")   I think I'm gonna "cheat" and just buy a cake!! (shhh don't tell anybody!!)  ;)

My day was brightened by two wonderful pieces of mail, one from dear Elmore and one from dear Danise...

Thank you both!!! :-*

Anne, last night you posted
Quote
vixmom - The music I have for Walking In The Air is a simple piano version.  The sheetmusicplus.com version might well be the same, I haven't looked it up.  I think we found it on amazon.com.  DB Jed transcribed it this afternoon on to Finale (music writing program) and we'd be happy to send it to you if you like.  I can also send you a copy of the orignial this weekend when I get to my copy of it.  Just let me know

If you wouldn't mind sending me a copy that would be wonderful... simple piano would be wonderful so the Vixter can give it to her voice teacher to play for her.  I don't know what Finale is... is it something that I could just print out if you sent it as an attachment or would I need to have Finale installed on my computer to print it out?

I really appreciate your help as we have hve found several versions for sale on varoius web sites but they have all been listed as "Choral Arrangements "

Jed never said... is your performance being recoorded for posterity and can we get looksee or a listen?

My bad (I think, anyway).  I had set text size to large in IE earlier today to see that score I posted a link to.  Little did I think that it would affect AOL.  Now here's the weird part--I'm in IE (which I've set back to "medium"), and everything looks fine, but AOL is still HUUUUUGGGE.  Maybe I need to restart AOL for the changes to take effect.  Who knew?   ::)

Today was the day of the Mini MidWest HHW Gathering.  Here we are at the lovely World of Wisdom bookstore.

L - R

DH RICHARD, DR GINNY, DS ROB, and me JRAND55.

I am holding Diana of Ephesus - God of the Amazons, whose temple in Ephesus was re-dedicated in the 9th Century to Mary.  8)

What a lovely picture!  Thank you for sharing it with us.

DR Ginny looks lovely as always and very happy to be surrounded by three handsome fellas!

I don't watch enough of THE VIEW to be an expert, but Elizabeth Hasselbeck (whom I loved when she was a SURVIVOR contestant back when I still watched the show) is "kissing cousins" with Pat Robertson and thus would have nothing to say that I would give ANY credence to.

I am not a happy camper.  My throat is really hurting ... again and I feel like crying. :(

I got the antibiotics on nov 30th. And my throat stopped hurting a day or two after taking them. I finished them on dec 7th. And I was fine till yesterday (well I did have the hives incident :)  ).  I don't know why this is happening.  I never get sore throats. :(

Lots of phone calls and other incidents which kept me from watching much TV tonight. I did watch a couple of MURDER SHE WROTE episodes to finish out side B of the first disc.

Guest stars in the episodes included Lee Meriwether, William Christopher, the handsome Charles Frank, Clu Gulagher, Norman Fell, Carole Cook, Jack Carter, and the wonderful Roy Thinnes.

Other than my usual bank and grocery errands that I usually take care of on Sunday morning, I should be in for the rest of the day tomorrow doing laundry, cooking, and watching some movies on the DVR and on DVD.

I don't have the flu - I had a flu shot.  I should have had a cold shot, too.  And a cough shot.  Right now, I'd like a shot of Scotch, but I don't drink.

Bruce, You might like to pick up some Triaminic Thin Strips for "Cough and Runny Nose"

I bought some a month ago for the Vixter and ended up using them myself this past week and was suprised at how quickly and well they worked.    It is actually supposed to be for children ages  6 -12 but it worked beautifully for me, stopped the sneezing and the cough and got me through the work day without any fuzziness or sleepiness or that awful dry throat feeling...

Favorite Christmas song

Robert Goulet singing "O Holy Night"

I have no idea what album it was from but my dad used to play all his Christmas LP's while setting up the tree and this rendition always sent shivers up my spine (in a good way)

What a lovely picture!  Thank you for sharing it with us.

Good evening all, from snowy Indianapolis!

In that photo, JRand had just asked if anyone else wanted to hold a goddess and DH Richard said, "I'm already holding mine!"  ***Blush***

We had a brief but lovely visit with DR JRand and then found our hotel with no difficulty.  After getting settled in our room, we walked over to Monument Circle and Circle Centre Mall.  Had dinner in the mall food court and did some Christmas shopping.  On our walk back, it was snowing and DH Richard sang "Walking in a Winter Wonderland."

I'm using Rob's laptop and the free wireless here in the hotel.  Cool!

That's the LEAST of his crimes in my eyes.

Yeah, it's amazing to me as a Christian that so many so called "Christian Leaders" have forgotten the actual teachings of Jesus... "Just not lest ye be judged" "Before you remove the splinter from your brother's eye, remove the mote from your own" "Love thy enemies" "Love your neighbor as yourself"

To me these are the core Christian values.... not  prayer in school, not Christmas trees in town squares or the Ten Commandments posted in courthouses, not who sleeps with who (assuming every one involved is a consenting adult) I don't feel as if my marriage vows will be in any way nullified or "cheapened" by allowing others to make their own vows

I am always embarrassed when I hear so called Christian leaders spouting hateful sentiments and attribnuting it to "Christian values"
.

Good evening!

Well... another five hours of rehearsal, and another preview.  So far, so good.  However, I'm - somewhat unfortunately - looking forward to Monday, the day off.  -Why can't some people realize that just because something is new, different, and/or unexpected, that that does not mean it's "wrong".  There is a difference.  Grrrrr...

:-\

Tough... Well, maybe more like frustrating.  However, there's some  "comfort" in knowing that I'm not the only one dealing with the "frustration" right now.

Trust me, I am breathing.  However, someone else is not.

No posts in almost 2 hours?? :-X Well, I'm finally here and here's my post:

My sister and I went shopping tonight.  She bought most of the stuff that was purchased but with all this talk about religion in schools and Christmas cards versus Holiday cards, I bought the perfect (in my humble opinion) card for this discussion.  It's what I'm going to send out!  I have about 10 or so addresses for fellow HHWers and there are three whose addresses may or may not be correct.  But I'll send them out and after the holiday, I'll post what it is for the rest of you. ;) I think it's pretty funny and hopefully, all will like it. ;D

I have 24 (two packs of 12) and if anyone wants one (and/or you're not sure I have your correct address), please e-mail me (not PM...my inbox is almost full and not yet ready to delete some things) and you'll get one!
