Goodnight, Jose! Wow, what a meal! ;D
Jennifer I have an IN JUSTICE question. The sister from the last show you say is new…..We thought she was a regular on the episode we watched two weeks ago. So…?
Jose I can’t eat Hershey’s chocolate anymore. Well maybe I can, just don’t want to.
Thanks Jose,
I'm not familiar with Scharffen Berger. Craig worked in a candy store that sold Joseph Schmidt. Since he isn't big on chocolate he asked my opinion. It is very pretty but the creams and truffels aren't my favorites so I easily pass on that.
BK - Good to hear that you had a good matinee, and a wonderful meal.LINKAGE!!! (http://www.lawrysonline.com/)
*Now I'm wondering if I should try to make it to Lawry's if I come out to LA in a few weeks.
;)
Tried to make these bigger, but can't. Here's Miss Joanne Worley, Miss Karen Morrow, me, and Mr. Fred WillardIt looks like Mr. Fred Willard has two heads! ::)
Please stop talking about chocolate. You people are making me hungry! :)
I'm curious to know which Desperate Housewife do you guys think will win the Golden Globe? Like I said last year I was Teri Hatcher all the way. But this year I want Marcia Cross. Although I wonder if this is Felicity Huffman's year (with all her praise for her movie).
I'm curious, is anybody else gonna watch tonight's GOLDEN GLOBES? I love them, since it has tv also! I do wish I got to see the pre-shows. Not sure if I get any of them (certainly not anything on E or any of the speciality channels). I wanna see what everyone is wearing.
I'm up, I'm up. I awoke to some tree-trimming noise, and I thought, "what idiot is getting their trees trimmed on a holiday. Then I looked out my window and realized that I was the idiot.
A mere twenty postings until I achieve my new plateau.
Gaby and Carlos' story was the most predictable this week and while sort of fun, not up to the encounters with the nun.
I think you said you don't watch previews, so I'm not sure whether to mention something re: something you wrote above. But I will just say that hopefully you will get your wish soon!
Rodzinski and other Colts fans, my sympathies to you after yesterday's game. I thought this was their year. I guess now y'all should jump on the Seahawks bandwagon!
I actually think Leslie's lip-synching is terrific. I wonder if your DVD player is one of those that create synch problems where there aren't any - my first DVD player did that and it drove me crazy.
Congrats on the good reviews, BK. The latter is especially nice, considering how you felt Friday night went.
I've been told that the Variety review is not good - a shame, as that's the one they'll see in NY. Of course, he saw it Friday night. I'm not going to read it - see no reason to, really.
I don't know who is a fan of the Carpenters here, but I'm looking for the spanish words for "Sing" as featured on the box set, "From the Top" and I can't find it anywhere, I've used Google and Yahoo to search, if anyone knows the lyric and would like to share, that would be great. :)
Nevermind -- FOUND IT!!! Yay!
Back from a fantastic gathering, and one of the last, at Barrymore's. The company was excellent and I believe a good time was had by all. DR FJL, you were missed. As for those of you who could not join us, were your ears burning?
Dear Friend BK, the two reviews are great! I hope the others are equally as strong. Fingers are crossed.
Our publicist (not the one who initially told me), has described the Variety review as "negative". The person who initially told me about it did say that the reviewer is respectful of me, just didn't like this show. I wonder if his review would have been any different had he seen the tighter Saturday night show with the good audience. I've known this particular reviewer for over thirty years - he's a guitar player who somehow now reviews for Variety. Go know.

You know, reviews are amusing - one really can't pay too much attention to either good OR bad. If I paid attention to the two raves, I'd get all cocky and think "hot stuff" - I'm glad they "got" the play and really enjoyed it. And I can't get all bothered because someone else didn't. Nor can I panic and start changing everything. I'm happy with the piece for the most part and feel it does what I set out for it to do - it may not please everyone, but it pleases me and seems to be pleasing those who see it.
If we get a couple more decent ones, our investor is thinking about taking out a couple of larger ads in the Times and perhaps the LA Weekly.
And I am MY own worst critic, especially on this play, which is why I'm proud of it.
What is eyespyla? How do you find it? Or direct me back to the connotator.
Catherine Deneuve still looks great! She introduced something that I missed.
Yes, it was Catherine. And "Brokeback Mountain" just won best song, "A Love That Will Never Grow Old," sung by Emilou Harris.
It's worth the wait!
John Travolta is announcing the nominees for best actor and he said Pierce "Bronson." :o
And with this very posting, I have achieved my new plateau of 17,000 postings. Let us make a toast - rye, buttered, with a little jam.
Who won film actor, actress, supporting actor/actress?
Certainly the two reviews I posted loved Matt - have no idea what Variety thought of the actors, and don't really care.
BK - Congrats on the reviews.
Personally, I'm one of those people who actually likes reading reading reviews. The good and the bad and the in-between. I find them fun and funny. And by reading "all of them", it just creates a sense of balance for me. -I guess I'm just weird that way.
*And I have to say that the Lestat reviews have definitely provided some giggles for me.
**And as many a show has proved in recent times, good reviews don't necessarily insure the success - financially speaking - of a show, and bad reviews don't always kill a show. It's all about the word of mouth and the marketing and the advertising budget.
Showbiz is just show biz.
