Sometimes good things come in wee packages!
Which Romeo and Juliet? If it's the Zefferelli version, it's out on a Paramount DVD. Double Indemnity is out in region 2 in a very nice DVD, so I'm sure Universal will be putting it out here soon. Of course, Double Indemnity was one of the very first DVDs to be released, through Image Entertainment, but that had a horrible transfer and goes for huge money now.
:o
;)
GEORGE!!!! LOL !!!! I did not imply that
Shame on you!
WHAT?? I didn't say anything! ::)
They used the act one original Broadway costumes! I got to touch Bernadette Peters' hat! ;D
I will be leaving soon to report for my first day of Jury Duty. Don't know when I'll be back though if I do get put on a case the project that's sitting on my desk which is due Friday, January 20th won't be finished.
GEORGE!!!! LOL !!!! I did not imply that

No it was your little icon!! You like the muppets????
Interesting Matt Ashford's wife, Christina has done a production Sunday in the park with George.
Those are teeny-tiny photographs aren't they? Those are Lilliputian photographs, aren't they?
11. Testicle (n.), a humorous question on an exam.
And the word of the day is: LUCIDITY!The Lucy Ditty, by Harold Adamson and Eliot Daniel
Here's me with Tammy, her friend Ashley, and Mark McGrath.
Around 1987, Christina was in a production of Jerome Kern's SALLY that I worked on. It was the demise of Bill Tynes' New Amsterdam Theatre Company, done in by the idiot producer who took over when Bill died. I wanted to have a t-shirt made "I worked on SALLY and got paid!" I think Christina, who played Sally, and the rest of the cast, of which the only persons I remember are Louisa Flaningam and Alan Sues, got stiffed.
I would just like to state for the record that my new favorite Celtic group is Capercaillie. I have no idea how to pronounce same, but I sure like their sound. :)
Yes, DOUBLE INDEMNITY is one of the worst transfers I own. Love the movie but really can't stand looking at that grainy mess filled with artifacts.
Making that list of ten is painful since it wouldn't allow me to include some others I watch a lot: THE CIRCUS, GOLDENEYE, AIR FORCE ONE, NOW VOYAGER, ALL ABOUT EVE, DOCTOR DOLITTLE, MARY POPPINS, GYPSY, WHITE CHRISTMAS, CITY LIGHTS, and SHADOWS & FOG.
I also left out the tons of TV shows I often rewatch like the CSIs and the first season of ALIAS and various seasons of FRIENDS and WILL & GRACE and THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW.
My community choir is doing a mostly Celtic program this session, including Enya and Deanta.
You can hear one of the instrumental tracks (Celtic Fantasy) on my site under Samples.

And I left off Monty Python favorite films like THE HOLY GRAIL and LIFE OF BRIAN, both of which I adore.

DakotaCelt, I love, love, love Fiona Ritchie, and, believe it or don't, have been known to do a pretty good impersonation of her lilting brogue.
My brother-in-law is from Mandan, and his parents still live there. Where are you?
Probably a small town where the DP grew up in, about an hour from Hershey
Keep us posted as to these plans. The East Coast would be glad to welcome you!
Or have i just been oblivious???
JMK - there are reviews? Might I know url's or something?
Speaking of Lucy and WILDCAT - From Mad Magazine's songs that just didn't make it, there was a parody of "Hey Look Me Over" called "Hey Overlook Me."
DR JMK,
There is a radio show you might enjoy... It is called Thistle and Shamrock and it is hosted by Fiona Ritchie. A number of public radio stations broadcast it.
Yes, I love Altan and I have seen them in concert. I also like Deanta, Clannad, Anuna, and Mary Black.
Tannahill WEavers and Boys of the Lough are good also.
That reminds me of a scene from the TV flop version of HOT L BALTIMORE, in which the hotel residents were protesting and the Puerto Rican hooker began singing "We shall come over!"
10 favorite DVDs:
ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE
LAKEER (the movie isn't so hot, but I love to watch the musical scenes)
KAAL (ditto, as above)
SINDERELLA AND THE GOLDEN BRA/GOLDILOCKS AND THE 3 BEARS (I am serious folks!)
The set of 10 BLONDIE movies.
YOU BET YOUR LIFE (sets)
SCANDAL
FLASH GORDON (the serial)
DVD-r of THE THING THAT COULDN'T DIE
ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS
This is the saddest list I've ever seen for a Top Ten!!!!!
I've just been polishing the patter for Linda Purl's presentation, and shortly I shall be on my way to rehearse with her. I suspect it will be two hours rather than three, but we shall see what we shall see.
I like to polish Polish patter but only on particularly pretty perfect days.

Oh, my gosh....HOT L BALTIMORE....I loved that show when I was a kid...of course it all went over my head as I was only in the 3rd grade or so when that was on.

I used to watch that, too! I remember that Conchata Ferrell was in that. ;D
The turkey is done, and how beautiful it is!

Tell-tale parrot exposes cheating girlfriend
Report: Ziggy squawked, ‘I love you, Gary,’ but his owner’s name was Chris
Updated: 9:17 a.m. ET Jan. 17, 2006
LONDON - Chris Taylor, a 30-year-old British computer programmer, grew suspicious of his live-in girlfriend when his pet parrot began to imitate her saying, “I love you, Gary.”
Ziggy, an 8-year-old African gray parrot, would also make kissing noises whenever the name Gary was mentioned on TV and would mimic Suzy Collins saying, “Hiya, Gary,” every time she answered her mobile phone.
Confronted with the evidence, Collins admitted to a month-long affair with a coworker named Gary and moved out of their shared Leeds apartment that same night.
“I wasn’t sorry to see the back of Suzy after what she did, but it really broke my heart to let Ziggy go,” Taylor, 30, told the Times of London in its online edition Tuesday. “I love him to bits and I really miss having him around, but it was torture hearing him repeat that name over and over again.
“Ziggy was one in a million; he was a loyal friend, and I have no doubt he was looking out for me.”
Taylor said Ziggy, who was named after a David Bowie song, has found a new home thanks to a local parrot dealer.
Collins, 25, told the newspaper she was staying with friends and said she shed no tears for the tell-tale bird.
“I’m not proud of what I did but I’m sure Chris would be the first to admit we were having problems,” said Collins, a call-center worker. “We had spoken about splitting up several times and I think it was inevitable.”
She added: “I’m surprised to hear he’s got rid of that bloody bird; he spent more time talking to it than he did to me. I couldn’t stand Ziggy, and it looks now the feeling was mutual.”

I wasn't judging. I was condemning.
Howdy do, all...
Why do we keep going to that place?? For Jennifer Holliday and Patti LuPone, that's why. And for the stories.
Howdy do, all...
DR Jose and I did, indeed, have a ball last night at Musical Mondays. If we really wanted to, we could have a couple of balls and a...well, nevermind. Let's just say the place was just shy of lecherous at times. I must remember NEVER to shake anyone's hand next time I'm there...I know where those hands have been. Seriously, though, Jose and I had fun and we even got a little drag show right on our table, if you can imagine. Songs were sung, dirt was dished, a guy peeked at me under the urinal stall (after I'd zipped up, thank God). Why do we keep going to that place?? For Jennifer Holliday and Patti LuPone, that's why. And for the stories.
You know, over the weekend I was receiving a network on Comcast Cable called LOGO...but now it is gone!
Well, it is still there, but I don't have access to it any longer. I don't get it!
Of course all weekend it was reruns of Xena: Princess Warrior so it wasn't like I would have ever really watched the network anyhow.
Don't let them judge you MBarnum. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
LOGO is the gay cable channel; I wish it were available in my area.
A former Spaghetti Western actor who I am in the midst of interviewing just sent me an e-mail and referred to me as "my potential, youthful Buddha"MBarnum Siddartha that's you! :D
I kind of like that!
Oh, and my kurta at long last!
I've got a date with an angel!
One has to look no further than elmore's VCR to see that!
...well, unless he is suggesting that I am growing a bit of a paunch ::)
But we were talking religion/philosophy, so I don't think so.
Are you familiar with Fairport Convention http://www.fairportconvention.com/ and the Brobdinagain Bards? http://www.soundclick.com/pro/view/03/default.cfm?bandid=106366&content=main&songid=0
Well, we know why DR Jose, the scourge of God, goes: the ambience and he's a tramp.

Gee...this wouldn't be a case of pot-kettle-black now would it?
I had forgotten ICE STATION ZEBRA was released a couple of years ago. I'd love to see it again despite its overlength.
DR JRand, tell me how the DVD looks and sounds quiality-wise if you please!
DR George, I put your WILL & GRACE DVD in the mail this afternoon.
Gee...this wouldn't be a case of pot-kettle-black now would it?
DR MBARNUM you must go to www.ulc.org and be ordained!
Well... There's "dirt" and there's "dirty"... I'm just not sure which term applies here... To either one of us.
;D
Back from a really nice rehearsal with Linda. We've got her presentation down to the necessary running time of twenty minutes (they give you the hook if you go over), and she'd doing a great job with it.
Jennifer, the two reviews I quoted from were at reviewplays.com - but I give you warning that the Jose Ruiz review is loaded with spoilers - he gives away everything but the final plot point.
Mark McGrath, why is that name so familiar?
Does one have to believe in a deity to be ordained?
;)
Time to get dinner going. Tonight, I'm trying to make Sweedish Meatballs for the first time.
Pray for Rosemary's Meatball.

It is not me, is it, Lord?
Yes, I am familiar with them both... FC were popular back in the 70s and 80s.
"Oooohhh, is it not me, Loooorrrrd? Is it not meeeeee, Loooorrrrrrd?!?"
(That's the punch line of one of my favorite jokes.)
OH!!! I almost forgot... a special commercial from the Vixter....
Girl Scout Cookies are for sale again
Don't miss this one chance this year to buy your Girl Scout Cookies. Remember Girl Scouts cookies freeze well and they are only available once a year.
Girl Scouts where girls grow strong........

Only 9,000 postings before I achieve my new plateau.

I had no idea that the LA Times had become like amazon.com and the imdb.
Obviously several Ashford fans have attended. The one mixed is fascinating in that whoever it is is asking questions that are easy to answer once you've seen the play - maybe he/she fell asleep. I don't know that there are any plot holes - I was careful in the writing, and actually adjusted a few things along the way - and that's the one thing that no one has said, so, go know.

Here be the Barrymore's photos from last night. An HHW gathering in honor of Ginny and her DH Richard, as well as Barrymore's itself...

Don't understand the whole Tom Cavanagh being employed as an actor thing.
Didn't understand him starring in Urinetown when I saw it. Not that he was bad, but I wouldn't call him good either.
DanTheMan, I got something in the mail from you today...but is it a CD or a DVD. Want to make sure I put it in the correct slot.
Alright, folks, keep them library vibes coming! So far, they're doing their job. Got a call this afternoon telling me I'm on the short list and asking for a couple references for the library director to call. Very good progress, and I hope to be able to share even better news in the next couple days.
