I'm the first poster again? Where are the east coast people??
DR Jose - I'm glad you're safely in NYC. Is it snowing there yet?
DR elmore - Do you need anything from Target?
:)
I'm up, I'm up. I first awoke at seven-fifteen - it sounded like someone was knocking on the door, so I thought it was she of the Evil Eye. I got up, but there was no one at the door. It was surreal - outside it was completely foggy - I haven't seen fog in the Valley for twenty years. Then I went back to bed, had some more weird dreams, then awoke at eight-fifteen. No more fog, blue skies, and the singing bird has returned and was singing Losing My Mind, and a very good rendition it was.
Sex and drugs.
DR Jose - Target and other shopping places around here get absolutely crazy when snow is predicted (even one flake!), so I hope you and TPunk don't get caught in an awful crowd.

FULTON, Mo. — When Wendy DeVore, the drama teacher at Fulton High here, staged the musical "Grease," about high school students in the 1950's, she carefully changed the script to avoid causing offense in this small town.
She softened the language, substituting slang for profanity in places. Instead of smoking "weed," the teenagers duck out for a cigarette. She rated the production PG-13, advising parents it was not suitable for small children.
But a month after the performances in November, three letters arrived on the desk of Mark Enderle, Fulton's superintendent of schools. Although the letters did not say so, the three writers were members of a small group linked by e-mail, all members of the same congregation, Callaway Christian Church.
Each criticized the show, complaining that scenes of drinking, smoking and a couple kissing went too far, and glorified conduct that the community tries to discourage. One letter, from someone who had not seen the show but only heard about it, criticized "immoral behavior veiled behind the excuse of acting out a play."
Dr. Enderle watched a video of the play, ultimately agreeing that "Grease" was unsuitable for the high school, despite his having approved it beforehand, without looking at the script. Hoping to avoid similar complaints in the future, he decided to ban the scheduled spring play, "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller.
"That was me in my worst Joe McCarthy moment, to some," Dr. Enderle said.
OK... Aisle 4... And the employee break room.

Having sat through some of the trash I've sent you, MBarnum? The karmic balance is still in YOUR favor!
The grocery store last night was so jam packed that you would have thought there had been a general announcement of the end of canned foods... people had their shopping carts filled to overflowing, I saw more than one person with m0re than one shopping cart. The lines from all twelve of the checkout lanes ran 10 and 12 deep.
I just bought my eggs, milk and bread (we were out of everything and managed to get out in less than 20 minutes
Thank goodness you could find the desired items...what with there being so much "jam" on the shelves!
Is it still sunny and balmy in SF?It's overcast and about 5-10 degrees cooler. We aren't supposed to get rain. But that was as of yesterday. I haven't heard the forecast today. It changes quickly.
DR MBarnum - I also really enjoyed GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK. I highly recommend CAPOTE. Philip Seymour Hoffman is just incredible. He really should win best actor for that performance.
I am now sipping my morning coffee (I slept in) and am enjoying my new furnace...heat...glorious heat...!
:D Has the new furnace smell left?
Not yet. It smells very oily in here! I have some windows open now as it is fairly warm outside today...go figure.
I rather like DRs Elmore and MBarnum as a comedy duo.
From Cillaliz:I meant to say the same thing.
Good hot water and plumbing vibes.
I wish you could post a video of the cats-oh so cute.
Dear sweet cute Callie meowed almost all night. She drove me nuts. Finally she quit and I was able to sleep. I woke up and both cats were curled up on the bed. She's a little better today. I'm hoping she has a quiet nightShe wants to go "home." :D
She wants to go "home." :D
Thank the kind man, Mikey!
Sorry I have not checked in today.. I have been busy all day with a nasty little project: Cleaning the computer room.... and its respective closets...
Discovered a few interesting things: A CD that I misplaced and feared lost... some fabric, beads and embroidery floss. I just need to remember what I was going to make with that.
Reorganizing my genealogy data and material. It is reproducing at will..
I have the Madness of King George III in the VCR right now... NOt a huge fan of the winter olympics...
Back to digging in the closet and see what other interesting treasures turn up...
Yes, Elmoore and I are right up there with Noonan and Marshall.
Remember, DR DAKOTA CELT, they're still looking for Amelia Earhart and Judge Crater! ;D
Well it may be awhile for interior photos. I'm not getting things done in a real speedy fashion. My new "enormous chair" and sofa are being exchanged for a smaller more stylized sofa and chair. I had to laugh at my salesman. When I told him they were too big for the room he said "Yeah I hear that a lot, a woman just called me and said she knew the moment she saw it, it was way too big". Of course he was speaking about a chair, but I really had to laugh.
Ann and Jed your trip sounds great and am so pleased you enjoyed your dinner.
You might have found the drive home easier if you had done what Penny often does and spent the night with us.
If we had not already arranged to stay at Ann's mom's house in Eugene last night, we may have pursued that option! :) I'm so very glad you mentioned The Stinking Rose a couple weeks ago. My mouth waters at the very thought of the incredible bagna calda and yummilicious ravioli we had Thursday night!
I am looking at some Chushingura DVD's DRMBARNUM....the Japanese Gone With the Wind.....a bit expensive....but if you recommend, I may give it a try.
Perhaps we should see a picture of this new spiffy haircut.
Watched some skiing and now watching skating. Don't much like some of these music choices.
They needed your sheet music, DR DAKOTA CELT.
Good shopping vibes to DRGEORGE! Congrats on getting your check! I thought they said March! Gives me hope!!
DR George, Watch your mail this upcoming week....
And, yes, the Playbill was... well... informative.
;)
NOW - in the mail today was the CD of HMS PINAFORE recommended by DRELMORE....what fun....I want to listen to it.
Hello all! I believe Jed and I forgot to inform you all that we would be E&T for a few days. We decided to take a trip down to San Francisco to celebrate the last week of freedom before his job starts on Monday....
By the way, George, I had no idea about Roslyn Kind. I wondered how someone as mediocre as she sounds on that particular LP could get a deal with RCA.
Cool! I sent your CD yesterday, too! However, I didn't have any regular CD jewel cases, so I had to send it in a slim CD case...which means that I had to fold the endcard so that it would fit in the mailer. I hope you don't mind.
I have funny story... When I went to burn yours, I grabbed three cds I did nto notice until after I burned them, that they were same color as the original cd!!! So, they are color coordinated!!! On the Kevin Locke CD, the liner notes are in Siouan and English.
Cool!
