Also for me:

9/11, including watching the towers fall and then later in the day as we walked over to the Hudson River we saw another of the buildings which had been burning all day (it was damaged from the falling of the towers) crumble down like the towers.

JFKs shooting and funeral and the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald.

On a more pleasant note, watching the very first moon walk

Good Morning!

I, too, would have to say the events of 9/11.  I still remember almost heading back to bed, and turning off "The Today Show", when they showed the footage of the first plane going into the Towers.  If I'm remembering correctly, they didn't catch it live, they showed some tape that one of their cameras had just caught.  -And how for a couple of minutes - at least until the second plane hit - that most people thought it was just a freak accident.

On a happier note - which, unfortunately, reminds me of a sadder event - the launch of the first Space Shuttle.

Snowy Tuesday morning greetings!  We had plans to meet my cousins for breakfast before they head to Pittsburgh and I head to work.  Their trip has been postponed until later today or tomorrow because it's snowing pretty hard, so we've cancelled breakfast for today.  Now I'm stewing about the fact that I have to drive to work in a couple of hours.

The 9/11 coverage--nothing else comes close.  Thank God for Tom Brokow's calming presence (even though he appeared to age ten years that week.)

And like DR Ben, I'll mention the first moon walk.  I think it was the last time my entire immediate family was gathered together watching something momentous on TV.

Lawyers should never ask a Southern grandma a question if they aren't  prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand.

He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"

She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women one of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."

The defense attorney almost died. The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you asks her if she knows me, I'll throw you in jail for contempt."

Oh yes.  When we first saw her, when she was a child actress, Vixdad and I both thought that the two of them should be cast in something as mother and daughter or perhaps as sisters.  Not only do they look similar but we think they sound and move very similarly as well....

Good morning, all!  I've been busy fighting with a moron from the Cast Recording list, and here I am!  A bit achey but unbowed.  I'm staying in today except for a brief trip to the post office in around 10 minutes.

TOD:  I remember how shocking the killing of Lee Harvey Oswld was, and how it was repeated over and over that November weekend.  Strangely, I have little memories of the rest of that weekend.

DRs MichaelShayne and Ben have already covered 9/11 and other events.

Deb, you jogged my memory. I do remember the Beatles on Ed Sullivan and thinking how cool!!!

I also remember with unabashed glee the resignation of Mr. Nixon. A great day in American history!

The Space Shuttle disaster was so sad. I am no fan of Mr. Reagan or his presidency but he shone during those sad moments in the same way that Rudy Giuliani became the mayor he should have been during 9/11.

The Space Shuttle disaster was so sad. I

It was odd that I was home watching it.  I was sick wit the flu AND the furnance was broken.  Since I was home sick anyway I told my landlord to go to work and I would let the furnance man in.

I always was interested in the space program so I deceid to turnon CNN and watch the launch... it had been heralded in all the papers because the first civilian, the school teacher , was going on the flight.

The funrance man arrived just as the countdwon began and we had to pas teh TV to get to the furnace, he asked if I minded if he watched the takeoff and of course I said no.  We stood there side by side watching and when the explosion occurred we just stood there staring at each other and both sat down on the couch.  We ended up sitting there holding hands, the tears rolling down both our faces....

Finally we recovered ourselves and made some tea for us and he fixed the furnance.

I remember coming home from work for lunch (I took an early lunch that day) and turning on the television. I was transfixed and then remembered that I was home for lunch. I called a friend at the office and told him what happened (this was well before listening to radios and the internet at the office). We were all shocked and saddened. I remember watching the explosion over and over again.

Just a quick note to say good morning before I have to tear off for a 10 am meeting, class and then work.....

some of the events I remember vividly are

9-11 --- I will never forget that day and images of the smoke coming out of WTC

Space Shuttle Challenger - I had come back from class and I was waiting for a freind to come back so we could go to lunch together and I was listening to the radio when I heard a report about ice on the shuttle. I turned on my roommate's telly and watched as the replay of the shuttle showed it exploding in teh sky.

1997 Flood in Grand Forks, ND as I watched the Water come over the Lincoln Drive dike and the Red River started to swallow up Grand Forks and East Grand Forks.

I remember reading about some of the things that some DRs are talking about but I do not recall them personally.

The Dancemaster told me several dancers were missing, and the men's choir had only 4 voices in it... but that the REAL problem is the Bulgarians' costume changes. Something like 7 minutes, for one of the changes... OY!!! Okay, I'll be the Bad Cop on Thursday and Friday! Along with the Space Shuttle and 9-11 the sight of the collapsed freeway during the earthquake in San Francisco stands out vividly along with the attempts to rescue people out of the crushed vehicles.

I can remember, also, the Kent State shootings when I was a wee twig of a lad...for some time after  that I thought this was a normal occurrence when one went off to college...I decided at that time that college was not for me! LOL!

These of course are all horrifying televised things that stick in my mind and likely changed my lifes outlook in some way or other...I am sure there are just as many positive things that I saw as well...but I guess it is the horrible things that tend to stay with you over the years.

I was home from school on the day of the Kennedy assassination, and I remember the TV was on in the den. My mom was cooking lunch and she heard commotion from the TV set but couldn't make out what was being said. I happened to be walking by the den door at the time, glaned in, and said matter of factly, "It's something about the President" and kept on walking. Little did I know what I was walking past!

All these memory jogs! Yes, Kent State. I remember it vividly. May 4th, 1970. I was a Junior in High School and I thought the country was rapidly going down the toilet. Shooting protesting college students was something we saw in the Soviet Union (remember them) or Communist Eastern Europe, not in the U.S.A.

The first time I heard Ohio (by Neil Young) after the shootings I was amazed and slightly obsessed. It became an anthem.

Ohio
Lyrics by Neil Young

--------

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

I also watched those weeks that the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan. I had heard their records, of course (how could you not; they were played endlessly on the radio and by my brother at home), but I have to say I just never got it.

I know that makes me odd man out, but I went right back to listening to HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS and FORUM. I've never bought any Beatles record, not even the soundtracks to their movies, and I bought most movie soundtracks that had any songs in them at all.

I forgot about the Beatles!  At last, a pleasant memory.  What I remember the most is the excitement on Monday morning riding to school and talking about the broadcast.

I was in grad school working on ONCE UPON A MATTRESS during the Kent State shootings.  Never saw any footage, only heard the news from the local papers and the student activists.  Is the FBI reading this?

Topic of the Day:  A myriad of events on TV that affected my life include

All the coverage on the assassination and funeral of JFK.

Seeing Oswald being shot on TV.

Hearing the bulletin that Marilyn Monroe was dead.

The assassination of Robert Kennedy.

The moon walk.

The resignation of Richard M. Nixon

Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's homerun record.

The eruption of Mount St. Helens.

Watching a live performance (on the Tonys) of Jennifer Holliday performing "And I Am Telling You" (had not heard of the show...was unaware of the show...did not know beans about the show before the telecast).

The explosion of the space shuttle Challenger just after takeoff.

9/11

And, of course, the national elections of 1998 and 2002 and their abominable aftermaths.

When I taught, we had that closed circuit national news service Channel One piped into our classrooms each morning for their 12 minute broadcast. The week of the Challenger tragedy, they'd show that footage every day, and tears would well up in my eyes. It got worse every time I saw it. Now, whenever some news show pulls that footage from archives, I quickly switch the channel. I just can't look at it any more.

IT'S A SNOW DAY!!!!!

We got 10 inches of snow last night so I decided it was a snow day. The courthouse is still open, so I'm on call, but I don't have anything I need to go to the office for.   My snowblower had just enough gas to make a path to get the car out, but man, this is heavy snow, I had to shovel the muck at the end of the driveway from the road grader.  That wasn't too fun

TOD - 9/11 of course.  I left for work without turning on the tv. I heard a plane hit the tower on the radio and when I got to the Federal Building I ended up in Senator Grassley's local office (ironic considering my political affiliation) but they were right inside the door and had a TV. We watched the second plane hit. A couple minutes later we were evacuated from the building for the day.

Space Shuttle - I was in law school and was home watching TV either before or between classes.  I watched the take-off and just sat there in shock watching it over and over..I was in a daze as I went to my class. I think I only went to one and just went home, I couldn't focus.

I know I watched the first moon walk, but I was quite young don't remember it much.

The space walks to reapair the Hubble fascinated me. I mean they were in space speeding around the earth and it was way cool to me.

Waco and the burning of the Branch Davidians really made me sad.   It was even sadder after I saw the photos from the trial with the agents posing with their guns with flames in the background and huge smiles on their faces...sick.

The US Hockey team win in whatever year Olympics  that was.  I remember jumping up and down and dancing around the room.

The last second shot in the NCAA championship in 1987 between Syracuse and Indiana - I won $535 on that shot. It's rare that I gamble, so I'll never forget that one!

All the Philadelphia weathermen have stated that there will be no snow for us--it's all supposed to stay to our south.  And yet the animated doppler radar on weather.com shows a massive amount of something headed straight our way.  Who are we to believe?

Elmore!!! How are you feeling, you graceful little gazelle, you?

Cillaliz - gawjust photos! Here in LA, of course, it is the first day of spring, and the sky is an impossible Heavenly BLUE, and the sun shines on everything!! Oh, my! Another spring!!! Birds hopping around with little bits of nesting material in their tiny beaks. Yesterday when I took my sister's dawg out to the park, we watched some small birds building a wonderful tubular sort of nest, hanging from a tree branch. Oh, I just love it! Birds and sun and dawgs and a blue blue sky and music and and and... whatta life!!!

I know it's going to be o the Disney channel i believe this thursday at 8pm (mar 23). I'm trying to find out when it's gonna be on the family channel again. But there website is crazy (it seems like i have to go through each day to check).  I'm going to keep looking, but i was just wondering if i can't find it if anyone could help me.

"Not bloody likely.  Gin was mother's milk to her."

Wendy Hiller's performance of this scene (at a tea party in the play) is perfection...and as lovely as Audrey's is in the film of MFL, it is a pale imitation.  I don't know about Julie's onstage delivery....but Wendy is innocent perfection... "Have I said something that I oughtn't?"  ;D

Two more memories (three, actually) , JR mentioned Robert Kennedy's assassination and that brought back the memories. Also Martin Luther King's assassination and the death of Diana. While it was terribly sad (Diana's death) it didn't shake me the way JFK/RFK/MLK did. I do remember watching much of the coverage of Diana's death.

Bee you tee full pictures Priscilla! Reminds me of the days in Minnesota where the snow was finally gone, especially when I lived on campus in Middlebrook Hall across the street from the theatre building. You would go to bed and the temperatures were decent for late March/early April and you would wake up with 6 or 8 inches of snow on the ground. I wanted to jump out of my 10th floor dorm room window at that point but, as Priscilla said, it usually didn't last long. You knew it would be gone completely in a short while.

I know that makes me odd man out, but I went right back to listening to HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS and FORUM. I've never bought any Beatles record, not even the soundtracks to their movies, and I bought most movie soundtracks that had any songs in them at all.

Each to his own and no offence but I find it sad that someone should have missed out on the beauty of the some of the songs on those "Soundtracks" :

If I Fell
I Happy Just To Dance With You
And I Love Her
Things We Said Today
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
Yesterday
I've Just Seen A Face

TDF is starting to fill up with the new spring offers. I have a full theatre calendar over the next few weeks.

I saw Ring of Fire which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. A country music concert on stage. It's still running even though it opened to mediocre or worse reviews. Hmmm, someone must have some money to keep it running  ;)

I also saw Pajama Game last week. I liked it. Hate me, beat me with a stick, push me off a bridge, I don't care. I know that many folks are upset about it and call it the dreaded revisal (instead of revival) but I had a good time. Yes, they made some changes, but they were made with the approval of the living creators and the estates of the other creators and the changes didn't ruin the show for me. I don't think it's quite as good as all the reviews say but it's still very good and Mr. Connick pulls it off as Sid IMHO. My biggest complaint is the orchestra sounds rather tinny and over synthesized but overall, I think it's a good production.

I'm seeing Rabbit Hole tomorrow. It's the new David Lindsay-Abaire play starring Cynthia Nixon and John Slattery. It has gotten very good reviews and I haven't seen Miss Nixon in any theatre since the horrifying The Women revival in 2000 (I believe, it was so awful I don't remember completely). I'm looking forward to it.

Rabbit Hole (http://www.mtc-nyc.org/RabbitHole/about.htm)

I'm seeing Awake and Sing (Clifford Odets) on April 6th. I've never seen the play but I remember reading it in University. I'm looking forward to it. There is a very good cast IMHO, consisting of Lauren Ambrose,  Ned Eisenberg,  Ben Gazzara,  Jonathan Hadary,  Peter Kybart,  Mark Ruffalo,  Pablo Schreiber,  Richard Topol, and Zoë Wanamaker

Awake and Sing (http://www.lct.org/calendar/event_detail.cfm?ID_event=50659318)

I'm seeing The Wedding Singer on April 4th. I have to be honest, I'm not looking forward to this. I'm seeing it because it's on TDF and I try to see as much as possible. I don't have much hope for it. I hear the movie was "charming" but I would rather have root canal without novocaine than watch Adam Sandler on screen so I never saw it.

The Wedding Singer (http://theweddingsingerthemusical.com/)

I'm looking through my calendar so I can choose a date for Festen, which former DR Panni will be seeing on April 9th.

Festen (http://www.festenonbroadway.com/)

I'm also working out my calendar so I can see The Drowsy Chaperone and Tarzan. Both shows have cheap tickets so they won't be on TDF.

DC has $25 rear balcony tickets. BK talked in length about DC when it was playing in Los Angeles.

The Drowsy Chaperone (http://www.drowsychaperone.com/)

From March 24th through May 9th (the show opens May 10th) Tarzan has rear balcony tickets for $38.75. They go up to $51.75 on May 10th.

Tarzan (http://disney.go.com/disneytheatrical/tarzan/)

And that is my schedule for the next few weeks. I'm glad I could share  ;D

Then I laughed my way through THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE. I have to say the show has improved for me since the mediocre pilot episode. I was laughing throughout the last night's show which I watched today.

Looks like the adorable Matt Letscher is going to become Julia Louis-Dreyfus' love interest.

Then I watched NO WAY OUT, the Sidney Poitier/Richard Widmark drama recorded from the Fox Movie Channel. No, it certainly isn't a film noir, but it was an interesting melodrama I had never seen before. My gosh, with fiery bad guy roles like this one and Tommy Udo in KISS OF DEATH, no wonder Widmark got typecast as a heavy.

Either Showtime or HBO has been showing the old 20th Century-Fox/Clifton Webb comedy DREAMBOAT, and I recorded it this morning on the DVR. I only watched about 10 minutes of it this afternoon, but I've always thought it was a pleasant little comedy. Looking forward to seeing the rest of it tonight before prime time TV takes over.

I'm kind of surprised Fox has not given us a box of Webb comedies like his Mr. Belvedere films or DREAMBOAT. Of course, we've got THE RAZOR'S EDGE and LAURA and THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN and and TITANIC and THE MAN WHO WASN'T THERE and CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, so I guess they feel there is plenty of Webb out there for the fans.

DR Cillaliz - your house is a beautiful snow castle.  The snowstorm here is not spectacular, just annoying.  A lot of schools were closed today, but it takes a Level 3 snow emergency or something like that to close the libraries.  I'm approved to leave an hour early tonight, which should get me home before things freeze up completely.

TOD - Several DRs mentioned 2 events that I did not see until well after their actual occurence.  The day of the Challenger explosion, I was trying to soothe an infant son into a nap.  He had just nodded off when the phone rang >:(.  It was my mother-in-law telling me about the space shuttle - that really put little Robbie's sleeplessness into perspective.  DH Richard was an elementary principal at the time and had quite a time dealing with all the distraut children who'd been watching live in their classrooms.

On 9-11, I was at work, where we have no TV.  The internet, upon which we rely heavily for breaking news, went all glitchy for a while.  Even Google was telling people that there was too much internet traffic and to tune into TV or radio.  I didn't see any footage of any of those events until I got home that evening.

Some other moments, that I did see that have not yet been mentioned:

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech
Scott Hamilton's return to the ice after his cancer treatment
The Cincinnati Reds' World Series sweep at the end of their "wire to wire" season

Thanks. It needed and still needs a lot of TLC  (read hard physical labor ala HGTV) and updating of the various systems - heating, plumbing and electric (read $$). We've certainly noticed that birds in this area know how to "escape" in bush fire season etc.. Amazing how quickly htey return here when the vegetation has regenerated.

Early warning signals seem to exist to help ensure the survival of the birdlife in times of natural disasters.

Evening all!

DR Elmore, how are you doing?

DR Cillaliz, so you had to break out the powdered sugar, huh?  Seriously I thought you house looked lovely but I worry about all the snow on your roof.  Don’t you have to go up there and get that weight off of it?   That’s one of the things I think about when Mom says she wants to move up North.

Of all the things I do, I REALLY can’t see myself climbing up on the roof in the dead of winter to shovel snow off of it.

I was up early to go for a doctor related test.  Even with this surgery, I still have to keep an eye on kidney stones.  I had to have a KUB done for an appointment with the kidney doctor next week that was planned months ago.

Then I had to take Bonnie to the dealership to have a look at that crack that has developed under the rear windshield wiper down to the bottom of the hatch back.   I was told that it is covered by the factory warranty so it won’t cost me anything.

They are ordering the replacement panel, will have it painted and then I just have to take Bonnie to them for a few hours to get it installed.  Much better then what the first lady on the phone told me—that they would have to keep Bonnie for several days  :o and send her out for the paint job.

I had a lovely phone call from Jane just after I got home from all this and when we finished, I went and laid down.  I have to stop that because there won’t be any laying down when I go back to work.  But I was soooo tired.

The birds nest in the holes in trunks of dead trees DR Danise.  Each year we look forward to the arrival of the young at our feeders. We don't get to see the babies until they can fly.  We do have other birds  honeyeaters that nest in garden bushes though. DR Jose, I ment to ask you, is it harder to play on an "unknown" keyboard?  I'm sure that different keyboards have their own  "personality quirks" as it were.  Aren't you more comfortable with your own?

TOD

I remember Princess Diana getting married.  That was like a dream—being taken to the church by a horse drawn carriage.  A gown with a long train.  Sigh. It was the fairy tale come true.    But I will state for the record that I was VERY disapointed by her dress.  I think it looks just horrible.

The I remember being shocked by her death and all the drama surrounding that.

The Shuttle accidents.  I had to wait until I got home from work to see the footage of the first one.  The second one happened the day I had Road Runner installed.  It was the first thing that came on the net and I’ll never forget it.

I thought they were talking about the first accident and I couldn’t figure out why.

9-11

How could anyone watch those pictures and not be touched.  Like many, we (at where I work at now) thought the first plane was an accident.  When we found out about the 2nd and the other hijackings, we cried.

I was alive at the time when  President Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy and MLK were killed but I have no memory of any of them at the time they happened.

I do remember when Elvis passed.

Nixon didn’t mean anything to me.

Rehearsal with Matt was fun.  The first time through I sort of head-tripped myself and fumfered a bit several times, but basically got through it.  Second time was better, but still didn't get quite everything.  Third time through was word-perfect and I felt good about what Matt and I were doing.  We'll do the same tomorrow and Thursday (plus work on the set Thursday night), have a go-through during the day on Friday, and then it's all in the hands of fate.

I went over to Armani Wells and found a perfect dark brown Armani sportcoat for the play - cost: $185, a steal.  Then went to the Gap and got pants and a top and I now have my wardrobe.

Maybe if you had 3 or 4 feet of show at once (something I've never seen) you may want to shovel, but no, it melts and runs down into the gutters. The roof is very strong

Even more moving, for me, was Ekaterina Gordeeva’s return to the ice without her Sergei.  I cried as her friends escorted her out onto the ice and skated with her.  Later she skated solo for the first time.

Jane, I went with one of the obscure names in the letter and oddly something that Ben said one day in a post about an area of NYC that had me thinking.....

I threw all logic out the window and threw a wider net on the age ranges....

I found two of the people and evidence of their existence in 1880. 1900, 1910, and 1920. I also discovered the Manhattan death index!!

I found one death and possibly two others... My problem is that I do not have a firm birthdate.....

I was doing the happy dance

I realized today why I think I had such a block about writing this paper.  It was about one of my real life cases and the family is in such a state of crisis.  I feel like I'm in over my head and I've never been so grateful for job supervision in my whole life.  It's hard to feel confident about what I've written, when I don't feel so confident about what to do with the case in real life.

Damn, I should have written something to that effect in the paper!

Hi Jose.

DR Danise - Yes, there is usually some sort of learning curve involved whenever I have to deal with an "unknown" keyboard.  Strangely enough, I've tended to adapt very quickly to different pianos - real, acoustic pianos - but it usually takes me a couple of days to get used to a new keyboard.  And the one I'm playing for Lestat is no exception.

-Then add on top of that just learning my part, and all the foot-mapping...

However, it is a really nice keyboard.  We're on Yamaha Motifs for this show, and they feel real good.  And they're the sort of keyboard that needs a little bit breaking-in time, so I'm sure after a couple of weeks, I'll feel right at home.  *And, yes, I got the new keyboard - the other two keyboard players are using the equipment they used in San Francisco.

*Good question.  :)

Well, as I mentioned, I'm already pretty tired, especially my eyes.  Thankfully, tomorrow is the last early morning, and then Thursday and Friday we start at 1:00.  -But we go to 11:00 those days.  However, the dinner breaks are long both days.  And then there's a piano-only run-thru on Saturday afternoon - which I'll watch - and then we have First Preview, First Audience on Saturday night!  AND we're Sold Out!

:)

I've quoted it before, but just as Little Red sings in Into the Woods... Excited and Scared.

IDOL did indeed have a good show. Give these folks some decent, singable songs, and many ofthem definitely rose to the occasion with entertaining and in some cases offbeat takes on familiar tunes.

My favorites tonight were Mandisa, Chris (the first 2/3 anyway), Katharine, Elliott, and Kellie.

I will be simply shocked if the bottom three tomorrow night aren't Bucky, Lisa, and Kevin. Kevin should go home, but I'll predict Bucky will be going.

Bucky sang his Buddy Holly song fine, but it was indeed a karaoke performance, nothing special. Lisa's wide vibrato threw her song out of sync with the orchestra. And Kevin is just in over his head, trying for crooner vibe and just not up to the level of the others. But he's a favorite and will likely hang around longer.

As for the phone calls, again, I tried everyone  deep into the voting time, and this time two lines were consistently busy: Paris and Taylor (who had the only busy line last week).

One of the things I recorded overnight and watched a bit of today was the 1929 THE PAGAN with Ramon Navarro. I always thought this was a part talkie, but it's even less a talkie than THE JAZZ SINGER. One chorus of "The Pagan Love Song" sung by Ramon (but the song is sung and played endlessly on the soundtrack by studio musicians), and the rest is a silent film of the most melodramatic sort.

I had no idea Donald Crisp was in it and so young, too!

Just wrote a post, clicked "post" and AOL did its lovely "website not responding" thing (more and more frequent with each passing day) - happily, I "saved" it when I saw how long it was taking to post -  so, here it is:

All the folks on Laverne and Happy Days were my pals, so it was great fun.  MASH was a one day affair and I only remember that Mr. Alda was very nice, as was Loretta Swit.  I know there was a director on the show (I think it was E.W. Swackhammer) but he never even introduced himself to me.  I just did my thing and that was that.
