In other news...

After I was done playing for "The Mouse", I decided to walk up to the Virgin Megastore in Times Square.  The new - and final installment - in Jean-Efflam Bavouzet's Complete Debussy Cycles was released today.  Alas, they did not have a copy on the shelves there.  So...

I took the W train down to Union Square to check out the Virgin Megastore down there.  Alas, not in stock there either.

Then I took another train down to City Hall to check out the stock at J&R Music World.  Well.. They didn't have it in stock either.  However, the clerk (I finally asked) did check the computer and noticed that it was supposed to be in today - well, yesterday.  Alas, they did not receive their weekly shipment from that distributor today (nor yesterday).  -The disc I was looking for is on Chandos, which is now distributed stateside by Naxos - consequently, they did not get any of the Naxos new releases today either.  Anyhoo...

J&R did have the new Beyoncé disc on sale for $6.99, and the new David Cook CD on sale for $9.99.  Oh, and "Patti LuPone at Les Mouches" was on sale too.  -I believe those will tide me over nicely.  Or something like that.

...And, of course, after taking the R train back uptown, and then walking over to Columbus Circle, I did check out Border's too.  Apparently, no one in NYC got their shipments from Chandos/Naxos today.

*But Michael Medved was doing a reading/book-signing there tonight, and I did stand and listen for a couple of minutes.

I never watched this.  I don't have HBO and don't want to spend the money on it...but my friend Margo is obsessed with this.  She'd stay up until 4:00 am watching episodes on DVD.  And she has two kids under the age of 12!

After I finally made it back to my apartment, I made a quick run up to the grocery store to buy some toilet paper and some soup - I just really wanted some soup tonight.  -And, yes, we were out of toilet paper too.  Well... After I had finished my soup, I looked at my watch... then looked at my calendar... then checked my phone.... "Hmm.. I'm supposed to be somewhere tonight..."  So... I hightailed it back out of the apartment, and, thankfully there was an A (express) train just pulling into the station when I reached the platform... And that took me to Times Square... Where I then proceeded to the theatre to sit in the pit of a show I may be subbing in for sooner or later.  Whew!

Then you must, you simply must add it to your Netflix queue!

..who made a point of Thanking me and shaking my hand after her callback: "You played my first ever audition years ago."  :)

Did she still walk unassisted after all these years? :D

And that's about it.  I think.  I hope.
