Finished with my viewing.  If you love At Long Last Love just skip over that part in tomorrow's notes :)  I love the music, too, and I don't mind Cybil and Madeline and Eileen when they're singing.

Listening to our next release - actually I can't stop listening to it, which was not the case with the previous CD release - one of my top ten favorite scores but I didn't like the sound on the previous release and never played it after the first listen.  Our new version is considerably better - not shrill, no fake reverb added and a bunch of rather irritating orchestra noises gone - the previous release's notes actually extolled the orchestra noises as if those were virtues.  No.

George, have you ever been to the Oyster House in Olympia?

I had only gone once, probably around 20 years ago.  At the time, my memory is that I'd had one of the best burgers that I'd ever had...but I never went back.  I don't know why.  I'd read that it burned down not too long ago.

It was on the afternoon news, so I assumed it happened last night.  The owner says he will rebuild it exactly as it was.

Sorry George, they just said that the Oyster House burned last month.  Today they figured out what caused the fire, which is why it was back on the news tonight.

So, when they finish rebuilding it, you and I can go there for a nice oyster dinner!

I don't think I like ersters.  I think I tried one once and it wasn't to my liking is what I think.  I do like fried clams but have no idea where they make them anymore except for the Coral Cafe - I had them there once and they were horrid, but maybe I should give them another try - they might have had an off day.

Listening to the new master.  Sounds great, actually.  The previous CD wasn't really to my liking - it had a lot of extra fake reverb added in order to give the sound a "spread."  But the original recording had very nice room ambience and the extra stuff just made the music sound washy.  That's all gone now and the sound is much tighter and more focused and we've actually got some low end, which is lovely.  I'll give you a hint: Film is one of my favorites, it's from my favorite year in film, and this film became an Outside the Box musical. :)

Ooo...I wonder what it is!

Tonight, we got through the whole show of "Hollywood Who Done It?"  We worked on scenes throughout the show and it took about two and a half hours to get through and work on everything, but when it's up and running, the show will only be about an hour long, plus a 20 minute intermission.  I'm sure that we'll get there...eventually. :)

Oddly, I have no solid memory of when I first saw ALIEN NATION.  I feel like it might have been the TV series first, then catching up with the movie much later.  Regardless, I'll have to watch it again.  Knowing there's some good usage of 1988 L.A. in it will help speed my way to it.

I never saw the movie, but I watched a couple of the TV episodes because the Evita guy had been in the movie. ;)

I really don't remember any more of the series than that.

The Velveeta guy?

Yup.  I remember one time that Mandy was a guest on the Rosie O'Donnell talk show and was going to do a cooking segment with his mother and the audience member who introduced the show said, "Mandy Patinkin and her mother...." :D

Wednesday I went to the dentist.  She wants to go way below the gum line to do the new crown.  There will be pain.  I told her that I didn't have any intention of being in pain during my vacation.  She agreed and just put the old crown in.  She told me when I'm ready to have it done right to call her and she'll do the whole thing over free of charge.   I can live with that

Free...that's good customer service.  It's too bad that you have to go through it again, but free is good!

Extra noises??  What kind of orchestra noises would be added to a soundtrack?
