Bob Knight is dead. Maybe only JRand can fully understand the shadow he cast over the Hoosier state, from Gary to Evansville. If you liked Indiana University, he was like a god, and you forgave way too many egregious acts of rage, bullying, and outright violence while appreciating his humor and of course the wins on the court.
If you liked another school, you loathed him and couldn’t understand why he wasn’t in jail in Puerto Rico.
Whoever you were in Indiana, nay, the Midwest, if you followed sports at all, he loomed large in your psyche.
