...And after he kissed you, did you proclaim never to wash your cheek again?

;)

I never met him, just dreamed about him from afar  ;D

Are you certain you don't have "guests"?

Quite sure.  That wasn't the only thing I did without thinking yesterday.  It was a combination of over multi tasking and just being too tired.  Today was much better

Me, too, DR Cillaliz!  Even though I knew how it turned out, I had to stay up last night to see Shawn Johnson, which wasn't on here until after 11.  Tonight I'm aiming to go to bed closer to 10, so I'll sign off now.

'night!

I planned to go to bed around 10:00 but since it's 11:30, guess that isn't going to happen

And I should point out that the picture I posted of the S'Mores cupcake is actually larger than the actually cupcake.  So it was just decadent enough.  :)

If it's a really small cupcake, I think I'd need two just to make sure I was really cheered up  ;D

Unless I get the Blu-ray of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, I guess tomorrow I'll be watching (for the first time) Passolini's SALO. I can't say that I'm looking forward to it. His movies of the 1970s seemed to push the perversity button just for the sake of being outrageous, and from everything I've ever read about this, his last film, it's no different.

To be frank, I am a staunch admirer of SALO.  I recently watched a handmade dvd (uncut and anamorphic) which was in Italian without subtitles and still found it to be a mesmerizing excursion into the realm of De Sade.  Truthfully, there is one scene which I find repulsive, but I feel that had any hack director made this same film, there would not have, and still be, such controversy surrounding it.  Pasolini was well-known stateside for his Saint Matthew epic and to a lesser degree for his trio of Medieval Tales.  The Tales Triology has some darkness, but are mostly light-hearted romps populated by a beautiful bevy of youths of both genders.
SALO turns these literary tales inside out; the youths are still there and beautiful, but the darkness of fascism and the literary pedigree puts a dander on any fun and frivolity.
SALO is, to me, a very interesting film, but definitely not one I revisit more than once a year.
I'll be very interested in reading your thoughts on the film AND on the Criterion release.

Another question for ASK BK day....since we are on the subject of time travel.

Which "star of the day" - do you think could come through the time machine to right now - and have talent enough to still be a star today?

Any of the greats - three that come to mind are Cary Grant, James Stewart, and James Mason.

Back from a very nice and very supportive dinner with Barry Pearl.  We spoke of many things and it was good to have someone to chat with.  I am feeling better today, and the dinner helped make that even moreso.  We shared a pizza (three pieces each - very thin crust and not too big, slice-wise) and we shared a chopped salad, which was excellent.  I probably had a little too much dressing, but tonight was my splurge night, obviously, and given the amount I've been running and how good I've been all this week, I think I'll be just fine.

Maybe I'll have a pizza tonight?  Or a meatball sub.  Or baked pasta.  I'm really hungry and I seem to have my appetite back.

I went to my sister's to celebrate my dad's birthday today (I printed out your birthday wishes for him and he was surprised and appreciative! ;D).  Among other things, he LOVES the gift cards to Barnes & Noble that we always get him. :) Anyway, afterwards, I went to Subway (we only had dessert at my sister's and I hadn't eaten real food, yet) and got the meatball sub.  It was more meatball pieces than actual meatballs, but it was very good. :D

I've had the Subway meat ball sub and it's not bad.  Best around here is Quickie's - really tasty.  Little Toni's is very erratic, but tonight's pizza was just terrific.
