Does anyone remember this early Buck Henry movie with Cy Coleman music and direction by Theodore Flicker? Wish it were available along with the soundtrack CD:

I was watching a Carol Burnett Show. If you remember she and the cast would parody commercials that were popular at the time. They parodied the Colt 45 ad. The ones that starred Billy Van and had that enigmatic song while something extraordinary happened but he would not look up until the waiter brought over his order of Colt 45. Does anyone know the name of the song and if it is available? I can't get it out of my humming zone.

Just back from Orchestra Hall. On the docket tonight was Ann Hampton Callaway's Streisand program. She brought her pianist and drummer, but she also performed with the entire Minnesota Orchestra. It was a great show.

Great because of her performance, of course, but also because the show also was a tribute to Jule Styne, the Bergmans, and Marvin Hamlisch. And she did her standard party trick, writing a song on the spot with phrases and suggestions from the audience. It turned out to be a love song about Ole and Sven (two male names that had been shouted out). She didn't understand that at first, but she soon got it.     :)

we had a delightful dinner on Iris's screened-in porch and then Katie and I had fun seeing the local production of Forbidden Broadway.  The evening was just what I needed.

One blog post says that the song used was "Solfeggio". I can hear that, but the Colt 45 version is different. The Ernie Kovacs Nairobi Trio used the Robert Maxwell version. If only the Colt 45 version were available. That arrangement makes the song sound wistful (?) Not sure if it the melody is played on a piccolo or ocarina.

Anyone ever see the scrolling scores on you tube? This one is of Steve Reich's "Clapping Music" and it's fun to follow:
