Gratuitous Post #151!

Thank you, Singdaw and John G, for your responses. There was a time, many years ago, when I would have tried making my own pasta, but no longer. Pasta is often a go-to when there's nothing much here. I'll check out the products on Sing's list and will also try Trader Joe's quinoa pasta. I have also developed a new appreciation for the gluten versions.

Wes Craven, horror film master, has died.

Then he will probably be back at work tomorrow.

When that's over, the series finale of "Falling Skies" will be on.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I've been experimenting with gluten-free pasta. I used to LOVE pasta, but had to minimize it when I found that gluten was causing some problems. I recently tried a gluten-free fettuccine. Ugh. Really heavy. Then the gluten-free spaghetti. Not as heavy, but definitely chewy. I bought something online that I'd never even heard of, but it looks rather slimy in the package. Trader Joe's has one with BK's beloved quinoa in it. Haven't tried that one yet.

If those DRs who avoid gluten--Singdaw, Druxy, Dan M--or our resident foodie, John G, have any experiences with gluten-free pasta or suggestions, then I'm all ears.

We found out, a bit late, that one of our guest today is gluten free.  If you find a good pasta I would like to know.

Jane and Keith found several new ones recently, I believe.

We sure did :). I admit some are not as good as we originally thought.

Last day of the pool today. :(

The unfortunate thing is that the weather this coming week is supposed to be high 80s and sunny.

Sorry.  It is cooling down here but I think the pool will stay open until the end of Sept.

Except for a brief rain storm this afternoon. Erika is finished.

I'm pleased for you.

An about-turn from the sloppy Chappie. Watching the film version of All My Sons with Burt Lancaster and Edward G. Robinson.

I don't think I've given Robinson enough credit or paid enough attention to him. Really enjoying his performance, even if the movie is somewhat stodgy.

I consider Edward G one of the all time best actors.

We had a very nice time today.  This is only the second time we have met Keith's cousins.  They are very nice, enjoyable people.
