Well, for nine years I've been deliberating about writing a choral piece, Appalachian Requiem, for my father.  It would be 4-5 folksongs/hymns from the Appalachian Mountains dealing with death, with hopefuly at least one funny song, and accompanied by fiddle and guitar.  I just received a call about a commission for a choral piece, so I guess I'm going to actually write it and stop putting it off.

Great news, elmore!

I'm glad we didn't take this cruise.  Scroll down and watch the video in the story.  They don't say what deck their room was.

I was on a cruise ship heading to the Bahamas when we brushed a hurricane.  It knocked over tables and chairs, blew out portholes, and made half the people onboard (passengers and crew) seasick.  It didn't phase me.  Of course, I was drunk at the time.

Did they send everyone to their rooms :)

No, they didn't, but everyone was so seasick, that most of them stayed in their cabins.  I went to the casino, a bar, and finally the movie theater onboard, where I watched my first and last Steven Seagal movie.

Back from the Robbys.  Show was MUCH smoother than last year - I was there to oversee everything and talk to everyone, which was helpful.  For me, and exact replay of last year - one win for something I was involved in but no wins for anything else especially the stuff I was personally up for.   It went pretty much as expected.  The win was for the cast of Inside Out for best ensemble of a musical.

Well, I just got a text from a friend of mine, asking if I wanted to hang out or maybe get some dinner, so I'm off to hang out or get some dinner.

Be back later. :)

My friend and I had dinner AND hung out together, so it was fun.

I'm now home and watching the pilot episode to "Colony."  I haven't heard anything about this show, so I hope it's good.

And when I got home, "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" soundtrack was waiting for me in my mailbox!  I'll listen to it at work tomorrow.

That's too bad about you not winning, but congrats to the cast of Inside Out, at least!

The Facebook messages and e-mails keep pouring in from people who saw SECOND SAMUEL at TLT.  It is really unprecedented.

Everyone seems to feel the need to tell us how moved they were by the show,  or how delighted by the production.

I think I will go down to the waterfront tomorrow.  It is supposed to get up to 63 degrees.

I should be writing the notes, but I know that will not be easy so I'm procrastinating.

I'm watching "Suits" from January.  I didn't realize that it was back on.

I had the series set to record, but the setting must've been on my old DVR that crapped out a few months ago.

Anyway, I have now rediscovered it and have reset my new DVR to record the series.
