Good Evening!

Just taking a break from all my "stuff".  Things are going well, if a bit slower than I'd like, but isn't that always the case?

Weather-wise, there is still some "High Uncertainty" in regards to the "Winter Storm Watch".  Most everyone agrees that it will start off as snow just after midnight, but then turn to rain come morning.  No accumulation.  Ah, well...

Well, I better get back to work - just another hour or so to go.  I hope.

Laters...

As I posted the other day, Guy just shows up and sings what we tell him to sing.  He doesn't rehearse, he just leaves himself in our hands.

I was supposed to go to a screening of The Wild Bunch tonight.  They're unveiling our very own Nick Redman's new documentary, A Simple Adventure Story, and screening the film.  It's going to ba a LONG evening, close to four hours.  Since I've seen both film and documentary, and since they're expecting a large crowd anyway, I cancelled.  I'm working on the end of a chapter and section and it's proving a bit difficult and I want to work through it.  So, there you are.

DR Sandra, I just caught up with yesterday's posts, and while Sugar and I both appreciate the idea of a puppy, she and I felt that this is not the time for a little sister.

So-- what kind of puppy?

Hi folks!  I’m sorry about last night.  I don’t know what happened.  The net seemed very slow to me and it took forever for things to load on any page.  The next thing I knew, I couldn’t get anything to load.

I made it to the front page here and saw my name there but I never could get any further.  I didn’t know if E-mail would work or not but I tried sending one to DR Jane so she could tell you what happened.  At least that worked.

Thank you, DR Jane for your assistance!

Today was another mixed day.

I’ve been worried about my Income Tax Check not showing up in time for the trip.  I had gone on online for information on when to expect it and it said that if I didn’t receive it by March 18th (!) to get in touch with them.  Since that is my spending money for the trip, I was more then a little concerned.

It came today.  I finely felt like the last part of the puzzle fell into place and all systems are go!

Then, when I came home from work, I found that my Mother had fallen.  She tripped over Brandi.  She’s ok but twisted her ankle.  Now I am worried about leaving her.  I have a friend that will look in on her but……..

She says I'm being silly.

Anyway, it’s turning out to be one of those weeks with highs and lows.

That's why I used extra special care with my wording!

Rodinsky next time I’m at Starbucks I will try the CHANTICO DRINKING CHOCOLATE.  LOL.  It does sound good.

SWW what brand of food do you use?  The diet change should have helped, but then I have never had a Dalmatian.

Ann Black Bottom cupcakes sound very good.  I think I had something similar.  I bet the neighbor would enjoy receiving a batch from you. :)

DR's. thanks for the B-day wishes on Monday.  I returned to the Bay Area on Monday without any problem.  The problem was getting back into the routine first thing on Tuesday morning - hence my being E&T yesterday.  I'm catching up.  Thanks again to the HHW family!

I'm sorry Matthew that I missed your Birthday.  To much stuff going on this week.

DR Jose, Thank you so very much for the offer of helping with the Wi Fi card but I think I'm past it now.  I took it several different places and they couldn't do anything with it.

It just wasn't meant to be.

I personally almost always play music while I'm falling asleep.

Anyone else?

I did until I got married.  It had the opposite effect on Keith and he couldn't fall asleep.  Now I read under the covers with a flashlight.

DRLaura thank you for creeping through the bushes.

Danise good news on your check.
While I don’t think you are being silly, I agree with your Mother  you should go to New York as planned.

Well, I'm a forgetful horse's ass!  I totally forgot DRPogue's anecdote about Mark (Marc) Chapeaux, and I wish him a successful recording career with the excellent Mr Haines.

I have a couple of suggestions for his and Mr Haines' consideration:
Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet
Top Hat, White Tie and Tails (Berlin)
  Easter Parade (Berlin)
  A Bowler Hat (Sondheim)
  The Hat (Crosswell-Pockriss)
  Johnny Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet
Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home

Don't forget "Green Fedora"

There is a South Bend, Indiana and a West Bend, Wisconsin.  Are there an East Bend and a North Bend somewhere?  We have a Gila Bend but no others.  Vixmom would know.

In answer to Michael Shayne's question, I always wanted to live in Bentley Greg's house.

Who was Bentley Greg?

Rodzinski, if you bring them to the Writer's Block event, I will be happy to sign them for you, and if you remind me on the 16th of March, I'll bring you a Kritzer CD.

Sounds good. I'll actually be out west for work from the 4th to the 13th of March, some of that in LA, but I'm not sure if I'll have the books yet. Also not sure how close you are to the Staples Center, where I'll be toiling, but perhaps you can guide me to a Shakey's where I shall have my date with the   Mojo Potatoes of destiny.

Something tells me this could well be the title of BK's next book.

Who was Bentley Greg?

The only Bentley I can think of is the British guy who lived near the Jeffersons. Living in NYC, I wouldn't mind the Jeffersons deluxe apartment on the East Side. But Uncle Bill's place from Family Affair is hard to beat.  If I lived out in the burbs, I think I would like the Bradys house from the Brady Bunch. Very roomy with that cool staircase and an astroturf lawn that never needs mowing.

JRand, you should at least appreciate that ONE DAY AT A TIME was one of the only shows to take place in Indiana. But that apartment they had was pretty dreadful.

An article in my local paper says L.A. is having its 5th wettest year.  The record is 38.18 inches, set in 1883-1884.  Does anyone know what and when the other four year years were?
