Yep, green stamps were a staple in these parts for decades. I think my mom finally did paste up enough books to get something, a blender maybe.

Going down to watch BAMBI in a little while. It's so short (69 minutes) that I should be able to finish before network TV begins tonight.

I'm waxing nostalgic lately...for some reason.

The Schwab's story put me in mind of "fings ain't wot they used to be" in a lot of sad ways.

Reading the Kritzer Trilogy did that for me....

Oh yeah, and I dated him briefly in 1978  or so... he had a music magazine back then called  "Imagine" .  he took me to some wonderful concerts in NYC.. then we drifted apart.... and last year I ran across  'The Second Greatest Story Ever Told" and of course seeing the author's name  HAD to pick it up  and found I quite  enjoyed it...

I wonder what he's doing now?

You can just go to http://www.gormanbechard.com/ and find out!

A warning, though...if you click on the "Photography" link, you'll find that he likes to photograph the nekkid ladies. ::)

And according to his website, it looks like he's made (or is going to make) a movie version of "The 2nd Greatest Story Ever Told."  What a co-inky-dink!

Geez Louise!! How come when I say  "I want some one to make a movie of that book" it happens and when I say, "I wanna win the lottery"  it don't?

the A & P did these too, I remember my parents getting a "scotch cooler" with  what seemed like hundreds of books of stamps.

Back from an impromptu luncheon with Miss Tammy Minoff.  Fun.  Unfortunately, one of the few mediocre meals I've eaten at CPK.

OH, I used to love to visit the S&H Green Stamps store in Medford when I was a kid! It seems like we went there a lot, but I don't have a clue what we ever got with out stamps!

You have to play the right numbers....like Hurley did on "Lost."

But, be careful what you wish for.....

Does Memphis work?  Could one get to Texas in an hour or so?  I don't want to use Louisiana.  I like the sound of Memphis.  I'll go find out the name of the town in Texas.

South Padre Island, TX.  And could one get a flight back to LA from there or would one have to go elsewhere?

...I have yet to read the rest of Posts from last night.

...I have yet to read today's Notes.

...I have yet to read today's Posts.

However, I did play for about 250 auditions today.  Whew!  And since I have yet to have a proper meal today - I don't like eating too much when I'm sitting down all day - it's now time for me to find said dinner...

And then I shall return and do the things I have yet to do.

Laters...
