I also like the show but had a hard time with the defense's portion of the show on how they try to manipulate the system even though the client is guilty. I wanted the government to win.

However I hope that in future shows they might spend more than 5 minutes in the jury room. Turning a lone not guilty vote to guilty took about a minute. Otherwise I think that the show will succeed.

If you really want a laugh, you have to see it in person.

You know how when you were young (or at least when I was young) all the lads and lasses grabbed a hold of a color streamer tied to the top of a large pole and danced about weaving the intricate maypole design to celebrate Persephone's return (all to the tune of "In a British Country Garden")?  Well, think of Woody with five different colored leashes on different dogs all intent on weaving a pattern - if we didn't have different colors, poor Woody would still be in the road attempting disentanglement.

der Brucer

To tell the truth - I didn't know the name of the tune, I just la-dee-dahed a few measures and Woody named it.

This whole thing gives a new meaning to the phrase "pole position."

Well I am going to have Voom HD installed tomorrow. I am taking it for 6 months. We will see if this HD is better than Adelphia.

I will also be doing some touch ups to act two of the play. I have a deadline of next week to submit the play for consideration for a theater here in Florida. This will come before the reading in April. If chosen it will be done in the theater's 2005-2006 season.

One of the requirments is that they play has to be unproduced. So I have to find out if a reading as a fundraiser is considered a production.

Fox had a show on last year called THE JURY that spent the majority of the hour in the jury room, and it was a dismal failure. Obviously, audiences want to see more of the machinations behind the two sides rather than jury deliberations. I had no problem watching the defense side and their scheming to get the client off. Obviously, sometimes they are going to win. No LAW & ORDER show has ever had the prosecution winning 100% of the time.

I'm wondering if Dick Wolf is going to give Kirk Acevedo a permanent detective partner now that Jerry Orbach is no longer a part of the show. I haven't read anything about a new partner for him.

And I like that. Even when the person is guilty. I forgot about that show. Even though I never saw I think people saw it more as an anthology. Different characters ever week. I think I still would like to see a little more jury action and perhaps a little more or the grand jury moments. I never knew that they could ask questions. I find that fascinating. More of that!

Orbach is replaced in the third episode (March 11) by Scott Cohen, with no plot explanation. Episode four will deal with Brisco's death.

"We're actually handling Jerry's death and the death of the character in very much the same way," said Walon Green, executive producer of Trial by Jury.

"We will reference the character's death in a scene that talks about a memorial ceremony," Green said during a conference call with TV critics. "Jerry - and in this case Brisco - was somebody who kept on the job and worked 'till, you know, the final hour."

This came from the Rocky Mountain NEws

Green said the script will stick with reality. Brisco won't be killed by a gunshot or involved in an accident.

Tonight the Vixter, her friend Emily & I went tot eh local high school production of  "Seussical the Musical"  while the songs  and the book did not overwhelm me some of the kids really did.

There was character of a General there, from the (Butter Battle Book) and he spoke and sand in a deep bass voice, I thought it was a teacher they had fillingin but it was a 15 year old boy, and could he sing!!!

There were several really talented performers, quite impressive.

The girls had a lovely time and the show was well received, and I still got home in tiome to see "Law & Order" with Mr. Jerry Orbach's last performance.  The scene outside the courtroom with everyone whispering  was quite touching.

My dad was enpaneled on a grand jury last year.  He said they could all ask as many questions as they wanted to .

Early to wuss.

Easy for him to say - now that he has brought chaos to our once humble abode.

Now I admit, I've made a mistake ot two in my life - like not firmly closing the front door- but never, ever, did I go downstairs and leave that door open.

We rapidly had curious upstairs dogs going downstairs, and more curious downstairs dogs going upstairs, followed by the upstairs dogs that went downstairs going back upstairs to see what the downstairs dogs were doing upstairs - think the Ark stirred with a spoon!

Peggy did a thorough inspection of each and every room, Benny and Baxter explored each nook and cranny, and the upstairs tribe broke into tag teams trying to keep track of the goings-on. The downstairs dogs did a pretty good imitation of Goldilocks- trying out every chair for optimum comfort.

Just as things quieted down, Benny did the unpardonable - he pooped on the living room rug. This heinous crime egregious breach of decorum could not be allowed to pass unnoticed, so a fethced a paper towel, scooped up the poop, scooped up Benny, and headed for the back door. I pushed Benny thrrough the doggie door, then opened the door and followed him out side; we deposited the poopy towel on the ground, gave the requsite "do it here, dammit" speech, then pushed his head back through the doggie door. There was poor Benny, head in the kitchen and rear legs flailing in mid-air in the back yard - one good push and House Breaking Lesson #1 was over.

Soon after everyone had sort of settled down it was dinner time - so, I scooped up the puppies and headed downstairs with Peggy close behind. And there they stayed. And the door was shut.  And dinner was enjoyed to a seranade of rejected howls from below :(

Oh well, I guess a little socialization is good for the soul.

Birthday report: Finished my script and e-mailed it to NY. Got some lovely presents. And TWO gorgeous floral arrangements (not to mention the basket of chocolate chip cookies). Had a very nice birthday dinner at my landlord's Italian restaurant (he contributed a bottle of wine). All in all --  A grand day.

Thanks again for the wonderful birthday greetings one and all! It was good to be here today.

Good Evening!

Day 2 of auditions...  Not too bad a day.  Good pacing for the most part, and good talent.  Not great, but good.  I also ran into a bunch of people I hadn't seen in a while while walking around the hotel.  And I even managed to get a nice run in on the treadmill after playing for about 275 people today.  Whew!

-Oh, and I just had a pretty good Almond "Horseshoe" cookie and a generous scoop of Haagen-Daaz Chocolate Ice Cream from the Dessertery downstairs.  -And I got my Waffle House fix in earlier too - Love those hash browns!

I would have hung out downstairs for awhile with "everyone", but the way bar area is laid out, it's VERY smoky downstairs - and one of the four(!) bars off the common area allows cigars too, so...  Just way too much smoke.  And the hotel has seemed to suspend the No Smoking rules in certain areas of the hotel during this convention.  Ah, well...  I can usually deal with cigarette smoke, but when there's about 200 people in one area, and the air doesn't circulate all the well...

Just one more day tomorrow of auditions.  And then the rest of my "adventure" begins.  I'm actually thinking I may head home tomorrow night after I'm done with callbacks, just so that I can sleep in my own bed tomorrow night, and have a few extra hours on Sunday before I have to head up to Fairfax Sunday night.  ...And then to New York on Monday...  We'll see...
