Nice walk! A bit breezy, but nice and sunny. Lots of people out and about today too. -And a very nice way to spend my "last" day in Richmond - at least for the next six weeks.

Doing more laundry. Went through the rest of my mail. Paid some bills. Etc., etc., etc...

Sounds like Adam's grandfather's Do I Hear a Waltz!

Uh-oh! A musical by one of the "annointed" composers?

Advance word on this has been mixed to very good. There's a big difference in the plots of DIHAW (spinster on vacation) and LITP (young woman on vacation with her worried mother). Personally, I like what I've heard by Guettel so far, and am looking forward to this.

Upon reflection - while walking - I realized the only three songs we had from WICKED the whole weekend were:

"The Wizard and I" - eh...
"Popular" - triple eh...
"Wonderful" (The Wizard's Song) - pretty good
and the piece de resistance-
"Loathing" - Done as a solo?!?!?!? And she had cut the song from one section to another so that she ended up with a drastic key change to deal with. It even took me a few measures to realize I was playing in the right key.

Each one was only done once. No "Defying Gravity" as stated earlier. My bad.

I wanted to see this in Seattle but it just didn't work out.

Oh well. I'll just have to be content with the cast album.

Right now, I'm going to watch (and hopefully finish) Friday night's "Battlestar Galactica" before my housemate gets home. He's going to come back later (I don't know when) with his "ladyfriend" and her daughter. They're going to have a barbecue. Before I went to bed last night...actually, this morning before I went to bed, I did manage to get all my stuff cleaned up out of the living room. My bedroom is (and has always) been a complete mess, but no one else (sadly

) goes in there, so it's okay.

As for LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA - I'm looking forward to it too - and I do hope to get to see it. I know Celia Keenan-Bolger who was with the show in Chicago and Seattle. Kelli O'hara got bumped up to her role. -Celia is now in Finn's SPELLING BEE.

I don't expect it to be a big hit - with audiences or critics for that matter. It's definitely an intimate piece, and since most audiences seem to be drawn more to the Bigger, Funnier and Glitzier productions... But, since it's at Lincoln Center, that's a good thing.

-I wasn't sure how to finish that last sentence... Hope you got the point - I almost didn't.

Spent the afternoon with the DVD of NEW YORK, NEW YORK. Looks much better than the laserdisc (anamorphic encoding would have made it even sharper), and the sound seemed a bit fuller, but I have to admit it's been awhile since I watched and listened to the laserdisc.

DRHisaka, I saw it in New York, and I thought it was a brilliant and moving production. I believe David Cullen did the orchestra reduction to around 25 players on Broadway and it sounded quite good. Adam Cooper was wonderful as the Swan, and I was happy to see it win several Tony Awards.

Hello, all! I've been E&T all day with housecleaning, laundry, a matinee of UNCLE VANYA, and dinner at Artie's. I like Chekhov, but I didn't much like this Vanya, with its uneven cast, and a Vanya who seemed to be performing the role for the last row at the Metropolitan Opera and not for the 100-seat theatre I was in.

I worked with Miss Clark when she played the ingenue in THE CHOCOLATE SOLDIER at Goodspeed. She's an acquired taste I never acquired.

I think that was a compliment-LOL. He does sleep with a cat, the one that stays between us all night.

I can’t resist those sweet Girl Scouts selling their wares. I feel so proud of myself I am not sitting here eating an entire box of cookies. I only purchased two boxes of Samoas to send to Craig.

Vixmom do you sell Samoas or Caramel deLites? I initially asked for a Caramel deLite until I realized the cute little girl had a very puzzled expression.

Now I have purchased a box each at different locations I will just leave donations.
