Hmmm... This would be a good reason to join Netflix, but I think I'm going to head over to the Harold Prince Theatre one night this week to take in the movie on the big screen. I have the feeling that I'm going to like it very much and I might as well take advantage of this showing.

Believe it or not, we're about to plunge back into winter. We're having near 80 today, but for the rest of the week, it's not supposed to get out of the 50s with cold (for April) nights.

Vixmom just because the kid drives an expensive car doesn’t mean he can’t do manual labor. Did the father at least have the kid apologize to you? Have you and your neighbor thought about requesting speed bumps on your street?

Whew! Is Comcast irritating or WHAT? I have been without internet since early this morning. A service call brought me an appointment for Wednesday morning! So I just waited. Then about 15 minutes ago, the technician called and said there had been a problem in my area and it might be fixed now....and it is so far. The service call has been cancelled and, I am crossing my fingers that things are all right.

Thanks to VixMom and Jane - I will think about changing my avatar when I get a good picture of myself...LOL....

DRMBARNUM I got a nice package in the mail today so I will be watching some interesting motion pictures this evening. Thanks so much!

Bric-a -brac....as far as the eye can see...I love bric-a-brac - and I first heard this word as spoken by Miss Lucille Ball on I LOVE LUCY.

DR CP - what is junket?

My favorite childhood meal - usually on Tuesdays - was meatloaf. MMMMM....always with mashed potatoes and green beans. Some thin brown gravy - I don't like thick or lumpy gravy. And a German Chocolate cake for dessert. The icing was made with walnuts from our own tree that we picked up from the ground and shelled ourselves...mmmmmmmm.

Ginny let me know how you like HAMLET’S DRESSER. I did have a slow start with it. I’m not sure if that is because I do most of my reading at night and just happened to be tired and falling asleep. Sleeping while reading can be a bit difficult.

I didn't want the book to end and I want to know more about Bob Smith's life. I know, we should get him to join us at HHW. I'm sure we would all like him very much.

LOL, intriguing & mesmerizing yes, but so many holes in the medical information. We find enough errors but my brother the doctor, a fan of Hugh Laurie’s, finds even more.

I know Judd Hirsch doesn’t have much of a role in Numbe3s but I still like him. I like the rest of the cast (Keith isn't too sure about the brother). It’s nice to see the gal from SLIDERS again and looking so good.

I hope the scripts for EYES improve. We still have it set to record.

Well, that makes horse races because I think the scripts for EYES have been wonderfully intricate, and I love Daly's droll approach to the job. And switching clients in the midst of a case, well, I've never seen anything quite like that in a TV procedural before.

I wouldn't know a medical information hole if it bit me in the toe. The show keeps me on edge constantly with the diagnoses, treatments that work or don't work, and the final unravelling of the medical mystery (though almost all of the stories have followed that same pattern, ripe for some tweaking if it's not to become mundane).

I have nothing against Judd Hirsch personally. He's a wonderful actor, but with nothing to do on the show except continuously prod his sons for not getting married and producing offspring, well, I have a knee jerk reaction to that kind of parental pressure. I endured it myself for decades before I finally let my parents in on the truth that there would be no grandkids from my side of the family tree.

Around the area that kid comes from they think dressing themselves as manual labor!

Ok, ok, I'm generalizing... am I bitter that a 18 year kid can afford to wreck a car that would buy both our cars four times over? Naaaah, not me....

The kid was neither seen nor heard. Daddy had him locked down in the passenger side of the 'vette....

Dad was everywhere; talking to the cop, the electric co, the telephone co, the tow truck guy, apologized to the DH & myself on his kid's behalf a half dozen times. I figure dad is an attorney or doctor and didn't want the kid to say anything stupid and make matters worse.

I remember the Timberline! A softball team I was with dropped by there while we were playing in a tournament. Nice place, on the huge side, big dance floor. Terrible weather all weekend, rained the entire time until it was time to fly home (and since it was Seattle that was no cause to stop playing), but we had a blast.

And it's good to know you know Republicans (other than der B and myself) that don't fit the stereotype of knee-jerk jerks. There's really a lot of us, we just get ignored.

My Mom was from Syracuse, New York. It's from her that I learned that it is properly New York City, and not just New York, as that is demeaning to the entire rest of the state.

That having been said, I would still like to know why my favorite dishes from her kitchen were Mexican cuisine? She made great tacos, great chili, great enchiladas. These were the dishes we asked for, when we wanted something special. For that matter, another of her specialties was another Californian dish, the Hangtown Fry, a concoction of scrambled eggs and oysters that originated from the Gold Rush era. But I've never cared for oysters, so that wasn't high on my favorites list.
