Oh.. if we're going to bring up BUN... then we have to bring up

GOO GOO CLUSTERS!

The Original (with peanuts)

And the Supreme (with pecans)

Ah, yes, BUN!  Regular with Peanuts, then there's one with pecans, and then the Maple flavor.

I had a couple of them while I was in Indianapolis in fact!

Oh... A correction - Vanilla, Caramel and Maple

That's better. ;D

I believe I exceeded my goal, but I still have a little bit of money coming from my parents and maybe even some from my neurologist so I don't have exact totals yet. I am feeling pretty good. A little sore, and my right foot has been bugging me, but I am not nearly as sore or tired as I should be for having just run a marathon.

Ah, FECUNDITY!

-Ah, reminds me of that marriage vows from Maltby & Shire's Closer Than Ever that uses the word "fecund".   I think it was the first - and only - time I've heard that word used in a song.

A quick Google gives a gaggle:

Quote
I WANT EVERYTHING
        Cracker
...
You are deep inside this fecund swamp
Or let it be your beating heart
You’re deep inside this FECUND swamp
You call us in our tiny boats

Quote
SAFFRON'S CURSE
Cradle of Filth
...
She schemes of growing power and the lengths sucked hard to get it
I dream of being God but ever living to regret it
Our FECUND nature decrees that Jesus wept come for
The Devil on Her knees

Quote
MEDUSA AND HEMLOCK
Cradle of Filth

In the Samhain mist
We lay in welcome by the western gate
With the five fold kiss
For every soul returning
From the FECUND abyss
Where nature's travesties congregate
With a stone cold wish
To see the wicker man burning

Well, Google gives ten pages of references, all from rock, rap, etc. and many unsuitable to this here family site.

And not one of them rhymes FECUND with second.  Now that is what I would do with the word, yes I would.

To nobody second,
I'm certainly FECUND,
A true philanthropist.

On the food front, we stayed at a Holiday Inn in Westlake which is about 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. We decided to drive along lake Erie  towards Cleveland until we found a place to eat. We happened to just notice this small pizza place with very little parking. We stopped and went in.  It was called Danny Boy's Perfectly Frank Pizzeria and was decorted with mostly Frank Sinatra memorabilia. They even have Sinatra trivia every Tuesday and Thursday night. We got two orders of Garlic Bread to start and it was thick and covered with lots of cheese. So good! We ordered one of their specialty pizzas (Chicken Alfredo) which was absoutely delicious. It had tomato mushroom, chicken, and I can't remember what else on it, but I would highly reccomend it if you ever find yourself in Rocky River, Ohio. You might have to ask some locals for directions because it is easy to miss. It was a good 20 minute wait but it was worth it!

Yes, the BUN candy bar is still readily available here in Indiana.  My favorites are the Vanilla and Maple Bun!

However I am still on my diet/exercise regime....losing a bit of weight and feeling much better - but I do my my candy bars and ice cream and pasta.

Speaking of which, was Guy on the same plane as BK?  Or did he fly to New York separately?  Perhaps Guy is a wheel chair passenger?

Okay, I turned off the Pause on The Broadway Radio Show to hear Donald telling me he was going to play High Spirits.

Then I hear selections from Into the Woods, beginning with "It Takes Two".  I fear he just didn't upload one commentary track, and we are hearing last week's track.

A fertility doc from Burundi
Met with a couple on Sunday
As he watched from above
They made fully-clothed love
He said "Fecundity's under the undies!"

When our wonderful neices were rather a big younger, we arrived one day to jubilant cries of "Uncle Joe!  Uncle Joe!"  Which prompted me to ask, "What am I, chopped liver?"

For a year after that DN Laura called me Uncle Chopped Liver.

Was Guy Haines going along for this trip?  I thought he only traveled by train.

And maybe not even that, these days.

Besides, it's my theory that it was Haines who called the airport and insisted on having a wheelchair-accessable seat reserved, causing our esteemed BK all those problems prior to leaving the ground.

I'm afraid the selection at my soda/candy/newsstand/general store downstairs was disappointing.  Aside from a rather large variety of power bars, everything else was pretty standard fare.  I did pick up a pack of Goetze's "Original" Caramel Creams.  I wonder how these would taste deep fried.

Hmm....

And since my father just bought a new deep-fryer...

Hmm...

I'm guessing it would be the type of thing where you'd have to place them in the freezer or fridge before frying them so that they don't completely turn to goo in the hot oil.

And I'm thinking of a crumb type coating - maybe with crushed pecans and graham crackers.

Hmmm...

Citronelle is famous for their "Hot Chocolate Truffles".  The chef coats them in bread crumbs and sugar, then fries them until they get a nice, delicate crust.  One bite, and.... :D

Of course, most of these foods are not really weird, just weirdly named.

I mean, anything made out of chocolate, sugar, marshmallows, pecans, almonds, coconut, peanuts, etc... can't really be all that weird.
