Jennifer: There are good cookies and there are bad cookies.
For instance: Every time you visit this forum, you probably don't have to log in. That's because your hard drive received a cookie, and that cookie allows you to bypass log-in protocols each time you visit the site.
BEFORE you delete all your cookies, bear in mind that there are a number of places you probably visit where you will have to, again, log in. If you don't remember your USERID and Password for each site, you will have to go to some troubles to have them sent to you.
I used MS Windows and to delete my cookies, I go to "My Computer," I click on my "C:\" drive, I click on "WIndows" and then I click on the "Cookies" folder.
If you've never been there, you probably have tens of thousands of cookies from roaming the internet. You will want to isolate those sites you visit (
www.haineshisway.com or
www.firstbankofcanada.ord, or
www.canoe.com). You don't want to delete those because you know what they are. The others, however, should go bye-bye. If you've never done it, you have a chore ahead of you. It might be a good idea to create a folder and call it "Cookies Save" and move the good cookies into the new folder. Then, you can select All and hit the delete key. If you have as many cookies as I suspect, it will take a while for them all to delete.
Once that is done, you can move the cookies from "Cookies Save" back into the "Cookies" folder.
