One quick word about the local announcement of next season's Broadway Lights (national touring companies) series in Charlotte: it is a BUM season by any definition of the word.

The two big draws (both huge Broadway flops): LITTLE WOMEN and BOMBAY DREAMS.

I forgot to mention:

Tom Cruise learned everything he knows about psychiatry from Scientology.  You can read one of Tom's great quotes about psychiatry in my Frances Farmer essay at:

There is a nice write-up of the Bacharach show in today's Oregonion, with a color photo of Adair and Bruce B....with mention of BK and JMK!

I can't wait to see the show tonight!

This movie was made in Florida in 1957.

In "Flaming" Eastman Color?!?  Wow!  That sounds like one lurid movie!

LOL Rodzinski!
There were a lot of "naked" movies made in Florida in the 50s and 60s...I have recently bought the DVDs of many of them...the horror films as well....my favorite so far is GOLDILOCKS AND THE 3 BARES! Most of the cast of Herschel Gordon Lewis' BLOOD FEAST is naked in that film! LOL!

BLAZE STARR GOES NUDIST is my second fave! What a gal!

I beleive that June Wilkinson's outre film MACUMBA LOVE was also made in Flaming EastmanColor....as opposed to the more sedate regular EastmanColor - Print by Technicolor of BEDEVILLED!

Ain't it the Truth!

Which reminds me, I guess I need to finish watching my DVD double feature of THE DEFILERS and SCUM OF THE EARTH...part of my "1960s films made in Florida" collection!

I stand corrected.

Question for BK:

What exactly do you mean by the "bottom" when it comes to recorded music?

Low end.  The low end frequencies.  Whether people realize it's there consciously, it's like comfort - when it's present and right it gives you a safe feeling, at least it does me.  If it's missing, I always feel like at any moment you could just fall into a bottomless abyss.  It's like having solid ground underneath your feet.

Wow, we sure see things differently.  I would love to have those shows tour here.  I think just to have any of the big shows from the past season is lucky.  But those are definitely two i'd like to see.

Just think what you could be getting.

Another question for BK re: TabAtha.

Are you sure that was Arnold Soboloff as the taxi driver?

I don't think it looks or sounds like him. I always pictured the man wearing glasses (like the shot of Tabatha getting in the taxi where he is also wearing a cap) and being a lot thinner in the face. Whenever I saw him acting or in photos he was always wearing those glasses.

Here is a photo of him

Am I sure?  Of course.  We spent quite a bit of time together in San Fran when he was doing his scene.  And I went backstage to visit him when he was doing Peter Pan on Broadway with Sandy Duncan.

FLIPPANT, baby, FLIPPANT.

Got a wonderful night's sleep.  Feel very congested, and it's hard to predict which way it will go, but I'm FIGHTING!  Damn them, damn them all to hell.

JMK: It may not have been Zach, but he was the only person who resembled being sick that I was near.  Doesn't matter.  I'm FIGHTING!

Looking forward to hearing how the show goes.

Since we're all big fans of Li'l Abner..

Thanks to BK for spotting a few typos that escaped and were on the lamb. Well they weren't really on the lamb. They were in the article. But he spotted them like "Where's Waldo" and we corrected them.

Enjoy!

Good Afternoon!

Back from the post office.  Back from the bank.  Back from the other bank - long story! (Ugh!) Back from my storage unit.   -And I only had to open about six boxes to find what I was looking for!

:-\

Just working out one last little buggy thing and then we should be live within the next hour or so.  I'm on my way to Mr. Grant Geissman's home environment now.

Had a HUGE ordeal in dental chair this morning....it's over.   Am medicated.  Am at work (for a short while).

Lovely posts, one and all.

Thanks, DR MattH, for the empathy!

BK, we had a great final runthrough this morning.

Bruce B. brought up the good point that you probably got something from the "airplane air".  I always feel sick after I fly.

Glad to hear it went well.  I haven't gotten sick from an airplane ride in years, but who knows.  I'm FIGHTING.

Kritzerland will be up and running shortly.  However, there is one thing we were unable to deal with today, and that thing will be dealt with on Sunday and Monday - it has to do with how complex paypal is set up to deal with shipping - we were able to do everything except International shipping rates - apparently it can be done but it's very complicated and my designer can't get to it until Sunday.  So, I would ask our overseas dear readers to wait until Monday to order - everyone here in the States can preorder immediately.

Yes, Jennifer, we do indeed have WIDELY divergent tastes in musicals. Yes, we could have had the tour of WICKED if Charlotte were a big enough market. Sad to say, it will be the following tour season before we see WICKED here. I suspect it will run for two weeks, just like HAIRSPRAY is doing. I will be seeing it.

For some reason, instead of continuing with ADVISE AND CONSENT, I popped in the first disc from the BROADWAY: THE MUSICAL THEATER series from PBS. I noticed it was playing this week on one of the PBS-high definition channels, but rather than watch it there, I thought I'd watch my boxed set again (which isn't high definition but is in anamorphic widescreen, a legitimate compromise.)

As I did the first time, I'm enjoying it immensely.
