I don't think I'd like chicken feet.  I'd keep thinking of those poor chickens, with no way to scratch a living.

Dear Jane and Danise: we have not heard a peep from the lady across the street.  Hopefully she was just here for the weekend.

Still, we have to find a new home for Peggy.  Much as we love her, six dogs is too much, and she is high maintenance.

I am quite fond of lilies...I have many white Lilies planted on the north side of the house and assorted Day Lilies and some nice pink and yellow Lilies in other parts of the yard. My Canna Lilies are the talk of the neighborhood.....well, I talked about them once...to a neighbor....of course I refer to them as triffids.

I really love gardenias, and the gardenia bush in my backyard has been covered these last couple of weeks. I always hate to see them start to brown because you have to wait a long time to have them again.

Love gladiolas, too.

I have scant memory of him (he did pop into a few unseemly chats as I recall), but here's wishing Mr. Mark Bakalor a very happy birthday!

A dark and rainy morning allowed me to sleep for almost nine hours last night. I always sleep like the dead when it's this kind of weather outside, but now I'm running behind on all my day's chores.

Sorry to read about DR Jed's virus. There seems to be something in the wind all over the country. My neighbor's husband has been battling it since Saturday. Glad bk, Ann, and others are feeling somewhat better. Hope everyone continues to improve.

These were hilarious WAR OF THE WORLDS spoilers. Too bad a creature doesn't come bursting from Mr. Cruise's chest, and THAT takes him out of the movie.

Speaking of Anita Bryant (if we must), the very first issue of THE ADVOCATE that I ever read had HER on the cover, naturally featured after her homophobic efforts to have rescended the Dade County law against discrimination based on sexual orientation. I have never forgotten that issue, and I've been anti-Bryant ever since. Anything bad that happened to her afterward (and she has had some terrible jolts in life and career) she brought on herself.

In any case...

Good Morning!

I slept well, and I'm feeling better this morning too.  I decided to do a bit of yoga last night before going to bed, and that really seemed to help with the soundness of my sleep.

But before I go any further or farther...

I love flowers. One of my favorites are purple roses.  But I can be very happy with just an assorted bunch.

One type I have never been too fond of is carnations.  Although they last much longer than roses!

Happy Birthday Mark!

Can you imagine if your name was bark? :)

That reminds me of an interesting name I read about this morning.  The local paper was announcing the birth of Angie Harmon's (sp?) second child.  And they said her first child was named Finley Faith.  That is an unusual name. But the 2 names sound so good together.

Happy Birthday to Mark Bakalor!!!  It was 10 years ago when I saw Mr. Bakalor play "Billy" in his High School production of "Anything Goes" - one of the best things on that stage.  Wow - time flies!

Well there isa a huge black cloud mass covering up three quarters of the sky outside my window and all I can think of is  "The Black Thing"

Someone should ask DR Jed if he can cluck like a chicken.  If so, he might have bird flu...and that's very serious.
