Two POSEIDON ADVENTUREs (especially if one is on TV for free) would really be the ultimate in Hollywood stupidity.

I will be sitting with Ms. Laurie Mitchell at the Ray Court's Hollywood show this weekend...and at the table next to us will be Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels!

I won't tell Ms. Jones that I had a hard time sitting through CAROUSEL this weekend....for some reason I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I will have better luck with OKLAHOMA....I love Gordon MacRea and he has a fantastic voice (and he ain't bad to look at!), but Shirley Jones has never really been a favorite performer, which is probably why I had not ever seen CAROUSEL or OKLAHOMA before.

I did, however, enjoy the dance number to JUNE IS BUSTIN OUT ALL OVER...it made me nervous seeing those gals dancing on the roof!

LOL--you know that there's someone and/or some project out there that is willing to raise the bar.

Euchre is my favorite card game, the only one I play well.

I also like Clue and Careers and Go To The Head of the Class and Monopoly and RISK!

DR elmore - HOO and RAY!!!

Maybe you should celebrate with some not-so-cheap stuff in your VCR!

;D

The only cheap stuff I associate with is you.  And my VCR.

I'd respond to the Topic of the day but my housemate's cat is climbing all over me and won't leave me alone.  I think it's time for me to put her down

Geez, and Ann gives me a hard time about not being a pet person! :D

Trivial Pursuit and Clue would probably be at the top of my list, but I've always been a big fan of board games in general.  Grew up playing a lot of Monopoly, Life, Pay Day, Go For It, Uncle Wiggly, and such.  Never did play Risk, though I have a hunch I would have enjoyed it.  For some reason, Sorry never did it for me.

Well, dinner's in the crockpot (cranberry country-style ribs, which we'll have with corn on the cob), dessert is in the fridge (blueberry pie), and I'm off to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park to find out all about the status of women in the tristate (SW Ohio, SE Indiana, N Kentucky).

Oh, TOD:  Not much of a gambler myself, but earlier this month my mom took $140 to a casino riverboat in Illinois and left with $600 (playing slots).

I liked playing canasta (with my grandma) and a rummy called "Liverpool" on our screened porch on hot summer evenings in Detroit in the '60's.

Board games - Careers (stars, hearts, and dollars), Go to the Head of the Class, and Barbie-Queen of the Prom.  I still have all those.  We were invited to a couples' gathering to play Trivial Pursuit when it first became available and one of the husbands (an accountant) said, "I'm never playing this with a reference librarian again!"

As DR Jose would say, "Laters!"

This has turned out to be brake pad day for the motor car.  I thought the motor car just needed brake fluid, but it needed brake pads, hence I am sans motor car until five, which is most inconvenient.

The yard-sale extras have been picked up; the burritos are being eaten. I have the rest of the day off. I think I'll go to the pet store and get birdseed for the feeders and some kitten food to drop off at the animal shelter. Don't I live an exciting life??

Good news from the car place: They'd originally thought all the brake pads, front and back, would have to be replaced, and they were worried about the rotors.  The rotors are fine, and only the front pads need replacing.  Hoo and ray.

Of card games, I enjoy Hand and Foot, which is a canasta-based game my West Coast Aunt and Uncle play. Also "Pay Me," and Skip-Bo. Euchre, hearts and spades.
