I have to do laundry today, too, but I don't seem to mind it as much as Joy does.

Still haven't made any DVD selections for today. I want to finish a KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER episode that I started the other night, but as for a film, just haven't come to any decision yet.

Soon, however, soon . . . .

Sunday morning (just barely) greetings!  It's sunny and windy here in SW Ohio, which means leaves are flying.  DH Richard and I are going on an adventure today to Waynesville, OH, where there's a gift shop I need to visit that happens to be next door to an Amish-style restaurant, where we'll have our main meal of the day.

DR elmore - welcome to the ranks of autumn allergy sufferers - hope a day of rest helps you feel better.

Some misguided film reviewers gave ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE the thumbs down back in the day (1958), but I am hear to tell you that it ought to become a classic, and I am certain it will...someday.

I'm up, I'm up.

Vertigo is, of course, obvious in today's topic o' the day.  Critics didn't like it, and audiences stayed away, and today most folks consider it a masterpiece.

I also find it happens with certain musical films, but for a much smaller percentage of fans - things like Half a Sixpence and Darling Lili and Hello, Dolly, and even Man of La Mancha - to read comments on the imdb, you'd think these films were masterpieces, too.

DR Elmore, thanks for asking:  DR Noel is just fine and wonderful.

Just what I was about to ask and was kicking myself for not asking sooner.  Say hello from me.

Oh, Mikey, Mikey!   Aristophanes wrote about that world you inhabit in THE BIRDS:  Cloud Cuckooland!  I wanted to remind you that the Fanfare may not be on the news stands yet.  I get it through subscription.

I probably shouldn't mention the name of our casting director at this point.  We'll see how Tuesday's casting session goes first.

Jennifer, while the photo looks a bit like pastrami smoked meat is different (I did a bit of sleuthing).

Smoked meat is basically beef brisket that has been cured, spiced and smoked.

Larry, relax today and feel better tomorrow.

I’m feeling rather lazy on this raining day.   I should get moving, do a few things around the house and go for my walk.

I’m sure my laundry is ready to transfer to the dryer.  Our computer has three fans & a water cooler making it impossible for me to hear the buzzer on the washing machine.

Just checking in to say hello and see if everyone we know and love was spared from the tornadoes in Indiana and Kentucky last night.  I see JRand was on with no mention of the tornado so I presume he and his are alright.... I hope that DR Pogues' old Kentucky home and loved ones were spared as well.

Is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com?

MattH, I wasn't talking about you specifically, as I know you enjoyed both films.  I'm talking about the millions of people who will sit still for risible dialogue and plotting in Batman Begins but just won't have it in the prequel films, even Revenge of the Sith doesn't escape that bashing from many of these folks, even if they begrudgingly like it.  I was just reading some posts about it at the usual place and you'd just be shocked at these people - with many of them saying they just don't buy Anakin's switch to the dark side - that it's too fast - and not one of these people seems to understand the major reason he's doing it - because he believes it's the only way to save the woman he loves and who is bearing his child.  When someone finally mentions that fact in the thread, none of those people come back and respond.  They just have their little nerdy agendas and that's that.

Today All Saints Sunday was celebrated in my church.  That is  when we announce the names of those that have been "called home" in the past year.  Derek Menzie was announced and prayed for.

I was awakened by thunder and lightening at 5:30am, but your post is the first I've heard of tornadoes here in the Midwest.  Thanks for asking.

We're off to Waynesville - bye for now!

Just cauht up on yesterday... I forgot about the Narnia movie.  We have several of the Wonderworks productions of this series on tape.  The Vixter read the first one in second grade and loved it , but I don't thing she followed up on the rest, I shall have to pull mine off the shelf and share them with her.

Can't tell you why, but I never liked the Narnia books!  I will still see the film because the previews look interesting.

DR Jane, the Vixter has much better teachers this year and she is very happy with her new troop.. these girls are all proud to be Scouts .. the other bunch all though they were "too cool" to be seen in public in their uniforms  ::) and therefore they wouldn't  sign up to participate in any of the Service Unit activities or trips.   I tried to explain that the "truly cool" don't have to worry about what they're wearing because people will copy them but only the Vixter "got it"  :-\

Anyway, this troop, besides going to Radio City, will be  going to Washington DC in March.

Fair Warning come January or so Girl Scout cookies will be available for sale...  ;D :D ;D Our goal is 200 boxes per girl to help pay for the transportation for the DC trip...

DR Joy... I kept thinking I knew you from somewhere and when everyone mentioned Noel yetserday I finally made the connection!!

I love your Wedding (which  I listen to often) You have such a lovely voice. Noel stopped  posting shortly after I joined (I sincerely hope there was no connection to those two events!)

Please give him my regards and tell him he is missed.
