At least they are still standing unlike so many trees in Florida.

Okay, is it just me or is this one of those "separated at birth" moments?

  and

Huh?  Am I right?

Here are the pictures at approximately the same size:

You think that's something?  Check this out (if I can get it to work):

DR Joy: If you ever need a young character actor with a nice baritone voice, I'm your man! I'm more than ready to get back into the auditioning game again...

DR Jose: Sorry I couldn't make it to brunch. I overslept. :-\ Maybe I'll try to swing down to DC for a couple of days to see DAMN YANKEES...

I woke up with a cold sore this morning. I think the stress of last weekend is finally working its way out of my system. When I get stressed or sick, I always follow it up with a cold sore. Not attractive!! And I'd forgotten how much they HURT!

Jason, e-mail me a headshot and resume if you can; otherwise, just e-mail me, and I'll e-mail you my snail mail address, and you can send it the old-fashioned way.

And hey, if you want to get back into the audition game, why not go to some auditions?  ;)

Joy: I'd love to go to some auditions...unfortunately, MTI won't allow it. I'm still figuring out a way.

I'll send you an email soon... :)

DR SWW - Does each class have to cover a different topic?  I'm sure there are some culinary movements and innovations that could fill two class sessions.  -And what about a hands-on class?  Field trip?  Tastings?
Jose, the whole thing is hypothetical!

Indeed I did re-watch BRIDE & PREDJUDICE this evening, then having a major Martin Henderson crush, I simply had to watch THE RING, which I found riveting. . .and weird.  And I finally spotted Chris Cooper in it.

Finished the samurai film, Kill, took a Jacuzzi, put the Jacuzzi back, and am now slogging through the Todd-AO version of Oklahoma!  Then I will listen to the commentary track with Miss Shirley Jones and our very own Mr. Nick Redman.

Well, if Nick Redman has done commentary, then I'm ordering the DVD, regardless of the problems cited!

"Desperate Housewives" was, I'm happy to say, back in "form" this evening.  It's the most satisfying episode of the season in execution, story development and performance.  The writers hit all the right notes with me, starting with the hopefulness that emerged from the opening's wedding dress fitting to the utter and total despair at the end, coming full circle with the final touches on the dress.  Susan, Lynnette, Bree and Gabrielle all had on-the-mark segments and Paul Young's return sounded a proper and ominous note.  There may yet be hope for this season!

"Grey's Anatomy" was wonderful.  The writers are brilliant and the performances and character evolutions just keep on delivering week after week.

At times like this I'm reminded of a line from one of my favorite films ever -- "The Ruling Class":

Some character asks Peter O'Toole's character why he believes himself to be God.

O'Toole replies, "Because whenever I pray I find I'm talking to myself."

I have tomorrow off...and I truly don't know what to do...do I go to bed now or do I sit up and watch another movie????

I'm sort of tired, but I could probably enjoy another movie.

I'm contemplating watching "Diva", that wonderful French film from the early 80s about a young man who takes the robe of an opera diva after a performance he has recorded illegally.

It's a fascinating film, as I recall.  I have it on a VHS tape I recorded off Cinemax in 1983.  I haven't played this tape in about 20 years, so it's a crap shoot at best as to whether the tape can hold up to a viewing.
