A gathering of bears is a picnic.

I think someone should write a song about that! :)

It's time for me to leave work.  I'm off to my sister's before I go home.  Later!

This morning I went for a walk, and since  my camera is in the repair shop, I can't show the photo of the bittern I didn't take this morning.

Lovely pic, Laura, as always! ;D

I feel like I've been celebrating BK's birthday all day.

We had a special dinner from Pietrasanta in BK's honor, and topped it off with some Peppermint Bark chocolate from Ghirardeli, also in BK's honor.

Skip says I've just been overeating as usual, but I've been calling the nonstop picnic a tribute to BK's birthday.

The bears remind me of the great Hairy Secombe in PICKNICK, the musical version of THE PICKNICK CAPERS.

That "winter mix" finally got here, but it feels just like a very cold rain to me. However, because it's so cold and still dripping rain, the roads will be like glass (an ALL ABOUT EVE reference) tomorrow.

Yes, DRLAURA - it is called snowed.  It finally stopped about 9:30 pm, but now the wind is blowing steadily.  As you can see, I am sort of getting the knack of my camera.  I am hoping some cardinals stop by the bird feeder tomorrow so I can try out the zoom lens.  We shall see.

JOEY had a particularly pathetic episode tonight in which ever the dim-bulb Joey overhears two druggie stagehands using the euphamism "chocolate milk" for marihuana, but naturally he REALLY means chocolate milk and starts overdosing on it. Naturally, all his family and friends think he's overdosing on grass.

And this is supposed to be funny!

No wonder they're giving this show a nice long vacation.

I had the Mozzarella Fritta and Penne Gorgonzola - both of which can be sung to the tune of Fascinatin' Rhythm.

Mozzarella fritta, you've got me on the go
Penne gorgonzola, I'm all aquiver

If I can find a lyric to point out that Pietrasanta does now deliver (which rhymes with aquiver), maybe I'll send it in as a proposed radio ad for the restaurant.

Or maybe not.

WILL & GRACE was below par, too, though I'll admit Jack's shenanigans with Will's "QIT" nephew made me laugh a couple of times.

And now Steven Weber (dark brown hair) is playing Will's brother who was formerly played by John Slattery (gray hair). Don't these people think we remember who played whom?

Watching KING KONG on DVD.  It looks and sounds pretty good.

I like this movie a lot - especially from the moment Anne gets kidnapped all the way to the end.

But I have never been able to tell what part of Kong we are seeing when he is lying on the ground at the end.  Sometimes I have thought it was his head, with his ear and an eye....other times I think I see a chest wound.

Maybe it will be clear for me on the DVD.

CSI had an unusual episode concerning a child seemingly abducted from a playground. But the case turned out to be a lot more complicated than that.

And George Eads, who was sporting a rather handsome mustache for the previous two episodes, is now clean shaven once again.

No DR MATTH - I think they give us very little credit for much of anything as an audience.

DR TOMovOZ thanks for sharing the picture of the PRIDE of bears.  They look a bit forlorn (as is to be expected) but anticipating a fine life in a new home.

WITHOUT A TRACE had a very melancholy episode concerning an amnesiac and the squad's attempts to track down her identity.

The episode also featured another appearance by Martin Landau masterfully playing Anthony LaPaglia's father now on the verge of total Alzheimer's. Very touching episode.

Some schools are closed tomorrow, but most are on a two hour delay.

I have a feeling it depends upon how much snow this wind blows around.  The wind is whistling through the trees loudly.
