Hello all, good health vibes to everyone.   I came home from work this morning and slept for 4 hours.  I got up and had some home made chicken vegetable soup. I feel better but not quite there yet. I've very glad I decided to come home. I think I may be able to nip this in the bud

And don't forget your Airborne and Emergen-C.

I took my phone off "Do Not Disturb" at 3:58pm. I JUST NOW HUNG UP. It will not stop ringing!!! ARGH!!!

And I'm stuck this hour at the computer services desk, where (with a Master's degree and 30+ years of experience) my main task is to collect money for the print-outs people are making from our public access computers.  Talk about a waste of human resources.

Ginny...that sounds like SUCH fun. :P I'm jealous... ;)

What really burns my butt is that one of my customers who apparently tried to call while I was at lunch just sent an email with the heading, "Why do you always take your lunch so late???"

Hmm...let's see. By asking that question, one implies that one has attempted to reach me several times at approximately the same time and that each time they've tried to reach me at approximately the same time I've been away at lunch. Ergo, my question to said customer is, "Why do you continue to try to reach me DURING MY LUNCH HOUR!?!?!!"

I'm done now.  ;D

Yep, all reruns on TV tonight, so rather than watch them (though I may not have seen CSI: NY so I will record it for safety's sake), I'll be watching one or more DVDs.

At this point, however, I don't know what they'll be. Maybe MR. SKEFFINGTON.

A friend is dropping by for a drink after work, so I need to get off here now and be where I can hear the doorbell.

Oh, it wasn't that prissy.  Don't be so hard on yourself!

Overcast today, but not too chilly, which is nice.  Just checked out the transfer of Our Man In Havana - quite lovely - scope and black-and-white.  I didn't like the film when I was eleven (it probably went over my head), but the few minutes I just watched are amusing, and what a cast - Alec Guiness, Ernie Kovacks, Maureen O'Hara, Noel Coward, etc.

I am anxiously awaiting the UPS delivery of my newest DVD procurement:

"Space: Above and Beyond" -- the Complete Series.

I loved this show.  It ran only two seasons on Fox, but it was superb television with superb scoring by Shirley Walker.

Their Christmas episode -- "River of Stars" -- is one of my favorite TV shows ever!

Yes Enterprise thought they were on the cutting edge of production - hiring a BIG writer and a couple of BIG stars....  Unfortunately they produced a movie NO ONE was interested in seeing.

Yeah. They  run a nice car rental business though.

Until JMK just mentioned it, I had completely forgotten that one of my sisters bought me that Kenneth Turan book for Christmas. I wasn't super-excited by it from the list of movies on the back cover though. None of them seemed particularly off the radar.

A good question is whether I even brought that book back with me from Indiana...

DR MattH, yes there is nothing much on tv tonight.  Although CBS has an episode of CRIMINAL MINDS, which they showed here last night.  I enjoyed it. Not sure if you've given up on the show.

Also, how did you like the other episode of THE CLOSER that you watched?  Does anyone know when it is scheduled to restart?  Although I suppose that really doesn't affect when they show it here since we don't get that channel.

Watching ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS.  Sometimes I forget that there are some really enjoyable over the top movies that are so compelling you HAVE to watch them.  This is one of them....for me.

Wait a minute....Catherine Zeta-Jones and Andy Garcia as Lana Turner and Johnny Stompanato?    I guess the only way they can match that casting is have Asslee Simpson play Cheryl.

Evening all!  Vibes to one and all!  This isn’t the way to start off a New Year!  I want everyone to feel good[!!!/glow]

My heart goes out to the miner’s families that lost their lives and to the one that lived.  I can only imagine the grief and the anguish they must be going through.  Bless them one and all.   I’m worried that the one who lived will suffer from survivors’ guilt.

I was also very angry when I heard the news about that poor horse that was in that wreck in NYC.  Before the story even ended, I told my Mom, “That poor horse is dog meat.” Sure enough, they ended the story with “the horse had to be put down.”.  What a shock a roo that was.  Duh.

They said that the horse went wild.  Well, excuse me.  I guess horses aren’t allowed to have a bad day.  A headache, a stomach ache or just plain not feel like having a bit in their mouth for one day.  I’m sorry but stories like that just tick me off.  Every time something happens that involves an animal, the poor animal pays with its life.  It’s not right.

Ok, I’m off the soap box.

I lost an earring today that I’ve had since I was in high school.  I’m hoping against hope that it’s somewhere around my desk down at work.  I didn’t realize it was gone until I got home and undressed from work.  It was just a little bell.  Sigh.

I also found a 1923 wheat back penny in with my change today.  I put it in my jewelry box.  I don’t know if its worth anything more then a penny but I think it’s pretty special.

Questions about Deceit.

What font did you use for the title?
Is the play running on a 8 performance schedule?
Has anyone discuss an HHW get together to see the show and if so will it be on a weekend?

RE: The Thunderbird movies. I thought they were  wonderful entertainment. I always enjoyed the tv series with the marionettes. Great special effects for their day. I got the two DVD set. The other film was Thunderbird 6. This has been remade after a fashion as live action films. There is also DVDs of the series.

As for Team America:
I got the  dvd because I thought it was a spoof of the Tunderbirds. I got the the unrated version and when the scene that got cut to get the R rating was show I was so disgusted by it that I turned off the film and didn't watch the rest of it. I am not a prude, but what they did is what I imagined they did in underground adult films that were aimed for people with special sexual tastes. Awfu;
