We had a bit of rain this afternoon which cooled us down & prevented the temp from reaching its expected high of 106.  I felt much hotter this morning than yesterday as it was a rather muggy and there wasn’t a single breeze while I walked/jogged.

DR Jose, the links for So You think you can dance on the fox website are not for the dancing (that i could find).  But when i went to youtube and typed in the show the first pic that came up was the dance i want to see with heidi and travis.  Now if it will play for me is another story. But hopefully it will! Thanks.

Here's what's on my list, so far:

The revival of A Chorus Line
Cynthia Nixon's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

I got a ticket to Drowsy Chaperone already because I knew I wanted to see it.   I'd love to see The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

Great photos Jane.  I've been outside on the front porch enjoying the evening. Now I'm up to spend some time with Boo. She doesn't mind if I read a book, as long as I spend some time with her

Cillaliz- have you tried bathing the cats so they smell alike?
I keep forgetting to get tickets to “Drowsy Chaperone”

Michael S-I must tell you about the great waffles in Amsterdam.  Ask me later, I have to go now.

So, Ginny, are you using Grant Guides to do your grant research or are you using Foundation Directory On-Line?  ;)

Even though I'm the editor of the Grant Guides, I admit that FDOL is much easier to use.

So, Priscilla (I'm sounding like a broken record), was it my review of Drowsy Chaperone that made you buy a ticket  ;)

Oh, my, I'm just full of witty remarks tonight.

Good Evening!

Hmm...

So when are the dates of the Fall HHW Gathering in NYC this year?  Judging by DR Cillaliz's purchase of a ticket to see The Drowsy Chaperone on October 5, I'm guessing the first week of October - ???

Hmm...

Well...  Beginning August 8 - well, August 9 for me - I will be starting rehearsals for Cabaret back down in DC at Arena Stage.  The show opens September 8, and closes October 29.

The one cool thing about this contract/show is that part of the band will be on stage, and the conductor position is a piano/conductor position.  So, I'll be playing the rehearsals, but once the show opens, I'll basically be on-call to conduct/play for the duration for the run since there's no keyboard/synth in the pit.  Best of all, I'll still be getting paid and housed!

I will most likely conduct/play one or two of the previews, and then we'll see if there's any sort of regular schedule once the run proper begins.  *And since we're doing the Joel Grey revival version of the show, the onstage band will be comprised of Kit Kat Girls.  In other words, I'll be in drag.  YIKES!

;D

Oh.. where as I.. Oh, yes.. The Fall HHW Gathering...

Well, the first week of October, it looks like I will be taking a week's leave of absence from Cabaret down in DC to come up for a show that will be a part of the National Alliance for Music Theatre (NAMT) conference.  That's still not definite, so I can't share the details right now.  However, if the show is a go, I should be back up in NYC the first week of October.  I'm not sure if I'll have enough time to give another Walking and Eating and Walking and Eating Tour... But I guess I could always come up with a guidebook and a map.

...And speaking of YouTube.com...

Does anyone know what kind of "legal" monitoring the staff at YouTube does, if any?  It's just amazing the number of TV clips, movie clips, Broadway show bootlegs, etc., that are posted there.  Just curious.

Jose, if you can't do the walking and eating tour. Perhaps we could meet in one or two places for a sitting and eating tour.

Don't know. I haven't really seen any cases on other sites that started from anyone monitoring it.  Even my eBay case was an independent group hired by some of the software companies to check on auctions etc to see who is selling fradulent copies.

I wonder if they'll attempt to keep up the fake psychic bit throughout the whole series.  I think that it could get old very quickly.  The guy has very astute observational abilities and I find that much more interesting that him trying to continue the charade.

Well, it's called PSYCH, so I think they'll have to keep up the charade. Now, they may let some others in on his secret eventually, but much of the comedy of the show revolves around how he psychs out people into believing one thing about him when he's actually using a totally different skill. As long as the audience knows what he's actually doing, it's probably more fun for the others to be duped.

Finshed GOLDENEYE and as always enjoyed it. It's my favorite of the Pierce Brosnan 007 movies.

About 10 minutes into MONK, the projection lamp on the TV blinked itself off as I suspected it was going to, and that was that.

Since the unit would have been too hot to handle, I'll let it cool down overnight and replace it tomorrow.

I thought tonight's MONK was the best episode in the last two seasons. Funny, endearing, not especially mysterious, but a completely enjoyable episode for me.

I was really going back and forth with who was the guilty party until the bridesmaid pulled the flower from behind the little girl's ear. Then, I knew how the theft had been done. But that was deep into the show. I did not have it figured out earlier.

After GOLDENEYE, I did manage to rewatch PILLOW TALK tonight before MONK came on. I wonder why "Possess Me" wasn't nominated for a Best Song Oscar in 1959? It wasn't a particularly strong year for song nominees, and it's beautiful, at least the way Doris sings it.

There was a NY TIMES article about Youtube a few weeks back. They have only a staff of 10 people or so. They don't take anything down for copyright reasons unless someone asks them to. If the copyright holder asks them to take it down, they do immediately. People had posted a lot of SNL clips early on, and Lorne Michaels and Co. acted swiftly and they took them all down, but people re-post stuff sometimes, so it is really a crapshoot.
