Is DR JRand a marketing genius?

I think moving a product line that contains "Witches Balls" to imprison wayward spirits qualifies as "marketing genius".

When I took the litter box out of the room Boo lived in until she could roam freely, I sent in Roomba.  It was pretty funny, the dirt detector kept going off in the area where the box had been and it kept spinning in circles trying to pick up all the dirt....but it actually did a pretty good job.

I bought some mats to put under the litter box that supposedly catch the litter that falls from the cats' feet.  It works so-so

Those mats are good conceptually, but too small. I am going to go to Canal Street where you can find all kinds of textile stuff because I want to find a large rubber floor mat with holes in it, the kind that would be on the floor in a factory or something.

HEROES spoilers.... (in response to Jennifer)

Loved the waitress. Loved her! I assume she DOES have powers since she has been killed, and Hiro might have been too, if he told her his powers.

They are steadfastly refusing to let us know how to feel about the dad. First he seemed evil, but good with the daughter. Now he is doing evil things for a good reason, but he has clearly been mixed up in some bad stuff. Then he does something totally evil there to the addict, but they show him feeling a bit conflicted about it. Who knows?

I'll tell you who I don't like: The blonde FBI lady.

... I want to find a large rubber floor mat with holes in it, the kind that would be on the floor in a factory or something.

Try a Restaurant Supply store:

Black 12" x 12" Versa-Mat Tile

Quote
Ideal for all wet areas applications where slips and falls pose a danger. Interlocking 12" X 12" tiles can be configured to fit just about any area. Can be easily cut or trimmed with utility knife to fit irregular spaces. Allows air flow for faster drying and moisture to drain through. Reduces mildew & mold possibilities. Excellent impact resistance for china/glassware. Resists grease, commercial soaps, pool chemicals. Flexible enough to be rolled up without unlocking. Lightweight for ease of transporting. Fits many applications: behind-the-bar areas, shelf liner for sanitary storage and air-drying glassware, reach-in coolers and walk-in box floors, locker rooms and showers, swimming pools, food kiosks, weather-affected entryways, industrial plants and more. Black.

Just thought!

The problem with witches balls is that I do not consider myself an evil spirit, yet I too would be intrigued by the red ribbons and probably just spend days caught up by those. An innocent victim!

An innocent victim!

Cillaliz can defend you using the "Salem" defense:

"Your Honor, my client was entrapped by the enchanted Witch's Balls."

(or is that the "Witch's Enchanted Balls?")

Many years ago, a friend in LA had a dog who would use the shower if he wasn't able to get out.

At one time, my mother had 6 cats. One of them was a red point siamese who would pee in the toilet. No one taught him how to do this; he just started doing it on his own. We were never able to teach him how to flush, though....

I think we will see that waitress again on HEROES. Something tells me Hiro's journey through time will be able to save her. What effect that will have on the rest of the world, I'm not sure. They were cute together. She definitely had developed the power of super memory.

SPOILERS!

RE: last night's HEROES.

.
.
.

I'm curious what people here thought of the waitress. Will she be on again? I thought that she and hiro were so cute together. I really hope that she comes back.

Also, is the indian kid mohinder (sp?) when he was little? And what do we call his powers? He can go to the past and gather info while he sleeps.

Oh and does the waitress have powers?

It was interesting how we did not get to see most of the heroes.  But i still enjoyed Hiro, indian guy, and matt.

Are we supposed to believe that claire's father is good?

I loved the waitress.

Yes, she has powers -- her incredible memory and grasp of what she's learning.  Quite a power to have, actually.  Everyone's power is different...and together, they will be able to accomplish great things, IMO.

The kid is not Mohinder as a boy...it's a boy whom his father discovered...a boy whose gifts inspired his father's research.  At least, so I gathered.  Mohinder has no powers....that we know of.  That boy apparently has gifts.

Claire's father...he's the stereotypical government man doing whatever it takes to accomplish his goals. For good or ill, I haven't decided what to make of him.

I was correct about the local newspaper having a problem. They lost power early this morning when only 30% of their paper run had been printed, and power wasn't restored until early this afternoon. So, we're getting today's paper with tomorrow's delivery and getting a credit for today. Pretty good public relations, I think.

I had an interesting afternoon of viewing. I began with a CSI: NY episode from the next-to-last disc in the set. There were two cases, one the murder of a football player recently drafted in the first round. The other involved the killing of a young man who was dressed in a superhero costume trying to do good in the neighborhood. Two interesting stories.

This week Warner Bros. is issuing the fourth set of Loony Tunes-Merrie Melodies classics, and I had the previous three sets but had never gotten around to watching any of the cartoons contained within. So, today, I opened set one and watched the first four cartoons in the set. The first disc is all Bugs Bunny cartoon shorts, and three of the four were very familiar to me. The first on the disc was in less than pristine shape but still very watchable. All of them so far have been color cartoons.

Went to the DVR to watch the two shows I recorded last night. OLD CHRISTINE had CHristine enduring money problems. Wanda Sykes had some particularly funny lines last night. Clark Gregg as her ex-husband also had some funny moments.

Overall, of the three CBS comedies I watched that aired last night, this one was the funniest.

CSI: MIAMI had a fact-based case dealing with the abduction and murder of photographers' models. What made the show interesting wasn't the identity of the murderer who was pretty easy to spot, but the fact that the story was based on an actual event that happened to series star Eva LaRue's younger sister (who also guest starred on this episode).

And the case is on-going. At the end of the episode, photos of missing models were flashed on the screen with appeals to the public for help in locating them.

I finished the afternoon by completing the CSI: NY disc. This one dealt with a body discovered buried at the NY Giants' football stadium based on a tip provided to the police by one of the accomplices in the killing. Very gripping episode.
