Now heading down to clean the living room, read more in KATE, and then settle in for an evening of DVDs and DVR.

I just heard about this, but don't know any details! :o

DETAILS!

Mount St. Helens Erupts, Spewing Steam, Ash Into Washington State Sky
Tuesday , December 19, 2006

NEW YORK — Mt. St. Helens awoke Tuesday afternoon with a mild eruption, spewing a plume of steam and ash into the Washington State sky.

The event was most probably was caused by growth of the new lava dome inside the crater, experts said.

During such eruptions, changes in the level of activity can occur over days to months.

The eruption could intensify suddenly or with little warning and produce explosions that cause hazardous conditions within several miles of the crater and farther downwind.

Small lahars — a debris flow — could suddenly descend the Toutle River if triggered by heavy rain or by interaction of hot rocks with snow and ice, experts said.

Under current conditions, small, short-lived explosions may produce ash clouds that exceed 30,000 feet in altitude, meaning commercial aircraft are being warned to avoid the area.

Because with the time zone difference, they hear about it earlier, silly.

NOW TO A VITAL ISSUE OF UNIVERSAL CONCERN

People for the Ethical Treatment of Oompa Loompas

After reading of the travails in DR Elmore's family and having seen many other friends who have gone thorugh the same with greedy and ungrateful relatives, it reminds me once again that I'm thankful for the fact that there will be nothing for me to inherit when my parents pass on.

The "money side" of our inheritance was more or less hassle free (once again, the only hassle being my one sister's attempts to get more for her children and grandchildren, and as it turned out, one of her kids did get an extra 13K because he never repaid a loan my parents made him, but that's another story--kind of like Elmore's, it sounds).  And the "personal goods" side was taken care of by that family meeting many moons ago.  It was a smart idea, because my Dad especially had priceless memorabilia collected over a lifetime in the service.  As it happens, my eldest sister ended up giving me a lot of the Army stuff that was "rightfully" hers as she thought it should pass down to my sons.  I have some incredible documents from WWII, including detailed outlines for what was the planned land invasion of Japan!

Hey, edisaurus, you never answered my query of two days ago re editing.

Back from the postal office - one of the employees told me long ago that the best times to get there are first thing in the morning and at two o'clock.  I arrived at two o'clock and must say there were only three people in line and I was a very happy camper.

I went to the site but I refuse to enter a 50 letter "download code," especially with all the right side letters cut in half so that you can't tell what they are.  Oy.

JMK, that fooled me too. But those multiple letters are just the background..you need to type in the hard to see 4 letter/number combo.

And the word of the day is: EXTRAPOLATE!
Casey would waltz
With a strawberry blonde,
But then they would suddenly stop
And let anyone watching EXTRAPOLATE what their next step would be.

Topic of the Day:  Fortunately, I don't think that I've ever been in a situation that was so embarrasingly embarrasing that I "just wanted to run and hide"...yet. ::)

;D
In other words, your mother has not yet found the box under your bed.  Right?

I couldn't get on this AM either and I had to get to work, Glad to see it is working again.

My most embarrassing moment involved a chocolate bar, a penguin and a football player from the Miami Dolphins.

I still can't get it to work.  I tried 3 times with the Jewish Jingle Bells and all it downloaded was an HTML document that took me right back to the website.

Anyone familiar with a singer named Doris Drew? She is on one of these albums I downloaded and what a wonderful voice she has! I have never heard of her before.

On the "rapidshare" page are you clicking on "free"? You should then wait a few seconds for a "ticket" then you should be able to easily download  your song or album.

I know not why it is not working for you.

TOD:  My most embarrassing "in front of people" moment remains my rehearsal snit/comeuppance during a college production of "MacBird" in which I portrayed the Wayne of Morse.

We were a week away from full technical dress rehearsals (and only 10 away from performance) and for days I'd been promised "my" sound cues.  I had my costume.  I had my prop -- a 15-foot-long papier-mache lance that preceded me onstage and which I wielded obnoxiously while on stage.

Everyone else had their cues.  My big entrance was to be to the strains of the William Tell Overture.

I'd been promised for several consecutive nights that I'd get the cue the "next" rehearsal.  Finally, I decided to wait for my cue rather than do my own rendition of the opening strains of the overture (which i knew from "The Lone Ranger", obviously).

The cue moment came...and went.  The director yelled, "Where's Ron?"  "Where is the Wayne of Morse?"

Ron replied:  "Where's the cue I've been promised three days in a row?"

The tech director replied:  "You'll get your cue when you hear your cue!"

The director said:  "Didn't you promise him a cue tonight?"

The tech director said:  "He needs to get over it: I've got lights to set."

The director said: "Ron, can you just come out please and let us continue?"

I said:  "Let's go back to the last line before my entrance."

So we did.

And then, at the top of my lungs -- and I was holding my prop -- I yelled out "dah-di-dump-diddy-dump, dah-di-dump-diddy-dump, (etc.)," and charged forward from stage left, holding my lance directly out in front of me.

I tripped on something in the wings just after my lance had become visible to the audience.

When the tip hit the stage floor, it bent.  I, of course, went down with a thud.

I was trying to figure out what happened when I heard the director ask hysterically:

"Did he trip?"

I stopped the show.  For a full 15 minutes, the director, the tech director and most everyone in sight were howling.

When everyone finally composed themselves and the rehearsal resumed, I made my entrance with a lance that had a bent tip.

We got through it somehow.  And my lance was repaired by the next rehearsal.

I also had my "cue" the next night.

DR Elmore:  I'm very much angered by MacBeth.

Give me his address.  I will -- at some point in the future -- turn up on his doorstep and knock the snot out of him.
