Ron Pulliam should go into the packaging business. Typewritten labels, cardboard reinforcement, static-free sleeves...if I was a buyer from ebay, I'd give him an A+!
And here's an advertising line he can use:

Now if only he had some graphics skills producing CD art...or a printer that could do justice to scanned inserts.

I do hope you grokked that one of those CD-Rs was for YOU!

Is it SIESTA time or something?

It is for me, DR Ron, because I've been awake since 5:30am - awakened by a frighteningly bad dream and kept awake by the uncertainty over going to work on the slippery roads.  Now that that's all been decided, this wimp is going to wuss for a while.

Bye for now.

Everyone is just sitting there like so much fish.  I've written a page so far and got to use a lot of my little research.

And that will put me over thirty pages in the totally rewritten department, and up to page forty-something if you count the old material that I still have to change and fix (although some of the very last stuff will stay as is).

Where should I sup this evening.  Genghis Cohen has been not received well, so I'm trying to figure out something else - can be over the hill or near me.  Maybe Stanley's.

I'd do Bird's (or attempt to) but it's just so loud there.

Good Afternoon!

Well, I, too, tried to log on this morning, but the site was unaccessible - or would that have been "inaccessible".  In any case, I was not able to log on.  So, instead, I headed down to Chelsea to get my hair cut, then got some lunch (rotisserie chicken with arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans) - with plenty left over for dinner), started some laundry, etc., etc...

But it did appear the site was down for a while this morning.

And the plan for the afternoon is to take care of one or two more small loads of laundry, then pack for my trip to Memphis tomorrow.  Hopefully, none of that will take too long, and I'll be able to relax tonight in front of the TV with my roomies while we watch "Lost".

I'm glad BK is having a productive writing day.

I phoned someone in California over a taxing tax issue and actually got right through to a nice person, knowledgeable about her job, who is actually trying to help. What a pleasure to talk to a Real Person! I've been having an email dialogue with someone from another financial institution, whose replies did not answer my questions. I had the feeling she doesn't know her job well. I have now received three emails from her, each giving a different dollar amount, and am now told by the nice Julie, that none of the three were correct. At least getting through to Julie was progress. I do wish more people knew their jobs, though I admit it's largely a management issue, since they often hire inexperienced people and don't want to pay much.

As for Anything Goes...

I'm also a fan of the LuPone/McGillin Lincoln Center recording.  However, the 60's revival recording with Hal Linden gets a listen from time to time.

Oh, forgive me for not remembering which DR asked about this the other day...  The original version of Anything Goes is still available for licensing/production, as is the Lincoln Center revival.  However, the rights for the original production cost next to nothing - and after working on a production of the original version, I can see why.  ;)

Woody - There are clear connections between PEANUTS and FOLLIES.  The song about Lucy and Jessie has parallels to Lucy in PEANUTS, and of course Charlie Brown's sister is named Sally, and she was frequently standing at the door (though not moving to the bed).  So that explains your dream.

That will be five cents, please. :)

Do you have change for a dollar?

We've decided on Prizzi's - my dinner partner is not an Astroburger person.  And, if Bird's should have an open booth, we might just do that.

I had planned to stay in all day and finish my tax prep., but I just got a call from Kevin Spirtas about a couple of charts I'm going to do for him, and I suddenly remembered that I have a 4:15 date with Liz Callaway about a chart for her!  Oy!

So, I'm getting ready to head downtown.  I'm so glad Kevin called me.

Re: tonight's AMERICAN IDOL.  They advertised it as the worst of the worst and the best of the best.

Does that mean that they haven't shown us the best people yet? Or is it simply the best of the rest?
