My thoughts on the GREASE contestants.
The women were all saddked with the musical trappings of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and since he was sitting right in front of them and on live TV, it couldn't have been easy for them.
And, unfortunately, some of them were stuck with incredibly difficult numbers: "Buenos Aires," for example, which Kate had to maneuver while walking down that long flight of stairs. I felt for her.
For the second performance in a row, Juliana sang her song well but showed absolutely no movement whatsoever. She planted herself on the upstairs railing to sing "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" and was a statue. She's yet to be able to show any sense of fun or variance in her stage personality. I hope she gets an upbeat number next week.
Of the women, whom I continue to be semi-unimpressed with, Kathleen (who sang "Memory") was my favorite of the evening.
