You may have fantasies about Mr Barrett.  I don't.  I know him too well.

LOL!

At long last I have my most recent order from Deep Discount -- loads of Criterion titles.  Additionally, I got the first season of "Lost" (new for under $20).  Secason 2, used, is on its way.

Life has its little ups every now and again.

There seems to be a huge difference in roundtrip prices for trips from Portland to NY...if I go in early June it is really quite cheap...but if I go in late June (as originally planned) it is twice as much...and if I go in July it is waaaaaaaaaaay expensive!

What happens in late June and July in NY that makes travel so expensive at that time...is there some type of mega NY type celebration that I don't know about?

It's that once a year occurrence of high volume of travel called vacation period, Mikey!

Martin Melcher owned that song and wanted Ross Hunter to change the name of PILLOW TALK to ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS....Hunter not so politely said no.

Melcher did get the song into Doris's next film PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES.  8)

Today was a lovely day with absolutely no excitement whatsoever.

I am curious to hear about DR Cason's exciting day.

Good Evening!

...Sometimes I don't mind taking the C Train (local) back uptown.  Usually less people, less crowded. Usually a place to sit.  And those extra 8-9 minutes on the train aren't too bad when you're able to sit down and relax.

In any case...

I'm seeing Barber of Seville tonight at the Met, and my eyes are already glazing over just reading the synopsis.  :)  Just kidding, looking forward to it, but the synopsis makes the plot seem awfully silly.

I want to see Il Barbiere too!  Well, actually, I want to see Juan Diego Florez.

-And he sings well too!

*I was hoping to see this production when the coloratura soprano, Diana Damrau, was singing Rosina.  She has the most "exciting" high notes - including a practically flawless high(!) F!

Actually, June 24 is Gay Pride, so...

See you there, DR MBarnum!

They just announced the bottom two on "American Idol".  Now that most certainly was a surprise.  And not a pleasant one.

As for the evictee, I have to tell you I'm not surprised.  This person's performances have been going down hill each week.

I wasn't that surprised either.  However, the "shock" would have been lessened if you-know-who was in the bottom two.
